Anderson Quest: Killing Vampires and Werewolves and Leprechauns (Hellsing/Bloodborne)

[X] Make your way towards the Orphan, setting up a barrier around Djura to give him time to heal on the way.
-[X] This thing fights on wild instinct, a crazed dance that best utilizes its insane strength. You can't read his movements, but you know instincts. You'll try and use the barrier around the placenta to intercept attacks and interrupt its momentum, while you lure it into reacting to feints against its two new weak spots only to instead aim for something else.
--[X] If possible, try to take out its jaw to disarm it. It worked against the Wendigo that one time, so it's a proven strategy.
---[X] Or was it a Wechuge? You always had trouble telling the difference.

Could take too long, we don't have anyone to distract it while we set up the barrier. And taking out the jaw? Focusing on that will just make it easier to counter us, not to mention it can just pick up the arm in its other hand and use it as a flail.

[X] Plan Death By a Thousand Cuts
[X] The Orphan's biggest advantage has been its extreme tenacity, its frenzied, wild swinging, and its very long limbs. But it was once human, and thus it's not immortal nor very durable. And as we have seen today, it bleeds just like everything else in this hellhole. On top of that, with its placenta gone, it no longer has a ranged option!
[X] Use the superior reach of Ludwig's Holy Blade to play keep-away, staying just out of the Orphan's attack range with fancy footwork. When it attempts to strike, punish its relentless assault by nicking vital blood vessels in its limbs. Go for the big arteries in the thigh, the wrist, the shoulder, etc. If you can chop off a limb or hit an even bigger blood vessel (say, the aorta), to speed the process along, go ahead.
[X] Should the Orphan go even more berserk in response, or try to pull a desperate maneuever, you have a secret weapon: The laser! If you can, aim for a vital area, but if it only manages to throw the Orphan off, that'll work too.
[X] Should the Orphan survive, it should be still be reeling post-lasering. From there, you can go on the offensive, using your bayonets to overwhelm the Orphan the same way it was overwhelming you earlier. Meanwhile, it should still be bleeding the whole time. If the damn thing hasn't keeled over by now, I'd be legitimately surprised.

Edit:
Mmm, you should know I changed to something else down the thread.
*rereads* Hrm. So you did, so you did.

[X] Toss the Club o' Righteousness to Simon, he's better with shootin' and it'll avail him well if the thing gets too close. Plus it hasn't fought the laser yet, surprise is always nice when it's on your side and fuckin' the other guy up.

-[X] You have one more surprise: now you see me, now you see a big old alien abomination appendage swinging at you.

The Orphan of Kos is many things. Human, is NOT and was not one of them.

And it's most notable Advantage has been its unpredictable yet effective fighting style that confounds our martial Mastery.

Sorry, I haven't really played Bloodborne nor know that much of the lore. I just recalled someone else in the thread claiming it was an infant that killed its mother in childbirth and was sent to the Nightmare as punishment, and I assumed it was therefore human when it was alive or has a relatively human anatomy in terms of blood vessels and vital organs.

Simon lasering: 25% damage, 25% minor damage
ANDERSON used FEINT ATTACK: 35% damage, 35% minor damage
Smack-in-the-box: 30% damage, 30% minor damage
Orphan vs. Simon: 40% damage, 30% major damage, 10% grievous damage
Orphan vs. Anderson: 30% damage, 30% major damage, 10% grievous damage

vs. Orphan of Kos: Fury
In one smooth motion, you pull out your club and twist it like this. You toss it to Simon without taking your eyes off the Orphan, trusting him to know what to do with it. He can put on his big boy pants and get over the whole "no guns" thing.

Ponderings on Simon's similarities to Batman and whether the Club o' Righteousness counts as a gun are quickly shoved aside in favor of not getting bludgeoned to death by the pissed-off blue toddler rampaging towards you. It's ramped up the aggression once more, attacking with newfound speed in a flurry that forces you back. You feint as best you can, trying to draw out its dramatic movements, but its wings give it a whole new axis with which to fuck your shit right up. A literal flying knee breaks your guard and blasts you away from your ward. Glass shatters beneath you and gouges your coat a few steps closer to Simon's aesthetic.

Instead of the follow-up ground pound you expected, however, the creature instead rockets towards your fire support. His panicked laser shot goes wide, perhaps a byproduct of his inner ear getting obliterated, and his rags do little to blunt the headbutt that audibly cracks his sternum. The club falls from limp hands, its impact overshadowed by that of its wielder as the Orphan latches onto the cliffside and spikes Simon into the sand.

"Oh no ye fuckin' don't," you growl as it tenses to leap down for the finisher. You burst forward, rear back, and uncork your latest toy: a spring-loaded Amygdala fist that erupts from your sleeves and slams the diving Orphan into the sheer stone. The entire cliffside groans, yet more detritus shifting from the impact and crashing down. You retract the fist and yank Simon away just as a chunk the size of Liam flattens his former resting place.

He's out cold, the cracking of his ravaged chest upsetting the rhythm of his shallow breaths. You have no idea where or if he has blood vials. Your eyes snap back to your punch's impact crater, obscured by the raining stone, and drag Simon's limp form behind you just before the Orphan cannons into you with tectonic force.

It doesn't even let you fall, digging its clawed fingers into your stomach. Your neck crackles from the whiplash, the sound drowned out by the wet shearing of flesh as the creature clenches its fist and tears a hole in your abdomen. Your hands instinctively moves to support your exposed organs, leaving you ill-prepared for the vicious chokeslam that sets the inside of your head afire. Only the yielding sand saves your skull from cracking like a hairy egg. The hand moves from your neck to your right wrist, yanking it away before the Orphan stomps down on your shoulder.

It pulls with inhuman strength. Muscles tear, ligaments yield, and with a final heave, the Orphan tears your arm off with a muffled screech. It throws its trophy aside and rears back to drive its fist clean through your face.

"OY."

Its head twists so quickly that the arm in its jaws nearly hyperextends. You force your head up to see Djura, his burns a fading tattoo, revving his gun. He cocks and fires the Stake Driver into the air, tinting the ocean air with cordite.

"Don't you fucking ignore me."

[X] "Go get 'im, Tiger."
-[X] Groan, then backpaddle your way so you don't drag your guts through the sand. After that one time in Miami? Never again.
--[X] Wait for Djura to keep the brat in one place somehow, then uncork the party favor chain and whip it around the blue brat so that you can go full Pavlovian on it's ass.
---[X] Didja think I was kiddin' about the Pavlov bit? Nail tha fucker wit' ta word and go full blown shock therapy on the lil' shit!

We have one shot where its distracted, I'd rather smack him with Arm again, push him away. He's right on top of us.

yeah see except we don't want distance because fully 2/3 of the team has no means of getting around in order to take advantage of it

so giving the orphan distance works to its advantage because that gives it room to leverage it's speed to dodge around Djura's ability to hit the bastard

and he's the one who is easiest to dodge out of the entire party, along with being the least mobile

the best plan is to cripple its ability to leverage it's bullshit agility so that way Djura can have it eat lead and Stake Drivers to the face while Anderson and Simon get a chance to recover.

The chained explosive bayonets to stun and wound while following that up with an applied ward in the confusion are probably Anderson's best chance to accomplish that

With its wounded remaining arm once it takes enough damage to lose that, the battle will turn in our team's favor. Because then it's only real weapons will be it's teeth and its own ridiculous weight being leveraged with it's speed. Which, you may already know, are easily telegraphed and thus set the Orphan up to be smacked around in the face until dead.

than why not pin him down immediately when he's distracted?

Because its still got one good arm and its strong enough to likely tear through any restraints as long as thats still functional. Or attached. I'm not picky.

If Anderson were mobile it wouldnt matter since he could just hit the bastard at range to exploit the opening, but for now the situation demands that we deny as many advantages as possible to the thing in order to even the playing field.

Once the Orphan's been disarmed, then it'll be time for the Amygdala Gag Fist to shine with epic cross counter action.

Standard and major damage for Simon and Anderson, respectively. Grievous means grievous.
Simon can get back up again with a little care.
Anderson is going to be seriously hampered for awhile, but isn't out of the fight yet.

I expect grievous means 'Well, you're out of the fight forever, if you luck out and don't die from this alone.'
And I expected shit more on this level than the whiffs and weaky-hoshi bullshit from the last round when it's wings came out. I remember that particular ass whooping.

Har. Har. Har.
We're lucky we're armed for bear. This fight would be a lot more alarming if we'd been under-prepared. But Anderson might need a helping hand with whatever we want to do this round.
