Yup, it may not be a keyhole, but it is something that leads to the planets Heart.

As for doing that well the planet hides and moves the hole, better than anything else, at best you could add extra protections, like King Trident.

Doing what your saying is just asking for things to home in on it, like a gaint "KICK ME" sign.

are planet hearts a thing in 40k or is it just so there is an excuse for keyblade? if it is a thing then does Chaos corrupt the planet first?

You aren't going to find the hole, it won't show unless the planet, thinks you'll seal it, or that you can protect it.

But right now there is no way to seal it, and no Heartless to threaten it, so it will hide it even from Serras and her powers.

Yes, see Chaos interlude.

As for there being Keyblades, not really just swords that serve the same purpose, sealing planet hearts.

The only reason that Keyblades are Key shaped is because they were prototypes for the X-Blade made to open Kingdom Hearts, does not exist in 40k.

So no there will be no Key shaped swords, just swords that seal planet hearts that are shaped like swords.

There is no great plot behind it other than they are needed, nor will they take up the quest, other than they are forged for, which means good for sealing, killing Daemons, and a general strength boost.

Ya the Eldar Exodites have something like a "Planet Heart" going but they call it a world spirit and it's really just a super powered spirit that protects their Maiden worlds. These things have blasted apart warbands for attacking them before although they can only do it once before running out of juice.

Also in the lore Exodite worlds are either depicted as Catachan 2:Electric Boogaloo or another nobody planet that gets purged. Speaking of which, have we found any Exodite worlds? I don't think we have.

Military: 85. You can make a weapon or defense against one for almost any situation, providing massive force multipliers. -90 to difficulty of Invention Checks.
Industry: 85. You have a reputation for making them look like idiots among industrial leaders. It's richly deserved. -90 to difficulty of Invention Checks.
Luxury: 85. You can make all kinds of exotic but expensive items with immense ease. You may double a creation's specs for free, triple them for free, or quadruple them for 5.5 times the cost.
:o
Imagine what we can do with that. Imagine our Legion's Flagship.

That's not counting our perk bonii, which bring it up +50%, and then I think another 100ish%.

Take a Keter and make it a ultra-flagship.
Take a Gandiva and blow a whole straight through planets.
Arcologies, a megalopolis in a bottle.
Or a super replicator that can churn out bomb ships like no one's business. Then again we could have just spammed a shit ton of homing missiles. Then again we have Stellar Bellows so we can literally afford to be wasteful.
Or a super sensor array so we can scope entire Segmentums for our brothers.

Or a really, really good Rune Book.
imagine if we made our own primarch? *Applies all the extravagant perks after maxing out required tech to necron levels*
*Sets up gene sequence so new super primarch is exactly like serras*

*Creates Serras 2.0: Escalation Boogaloo, Now with extra exponential growth* :V

And the galaxy was saved and all races enjoyed countless millenia of peace and prosperity.
THE END

Yeah, maxing out your Stats and Skills would more or less be a win condition, since it would then be a question of when, not if, you out-teched literally everyone else, at which point you'd snowball like Orks. I'd have to pull an entire rhinoceros out of my hat to conceivably give you anything worse than a neutral end at that point.

I suddenly feel the urge to make Serras' Gloriana-Class Battleship. Once we hit the caps for our ship tech we should seriously look into seeing if making Serras' Flagship would be a worthwhile venture at this time.

think you can hold on long enough for us to reach that point? *somewhat serious*

Hm, do you mean Extravagant Perks, or the Education bonus? Because Education Perks + all Perks in a specific tree would see you into the single millions per skill, without even involving any equipment or other modifiers. The Education: General chain alone would max out at nearly 2 million. To be more specific, a little over 1.75 million per Skill. The lowest Invention Check, assuming 50 actions were invested, would be over 250 million.

Edit: To put that into perspective, the Sensors formula has their maximum effective range at the highest passed Check/50, assuming there's no Crystals involved. Which means 5 million km, or over a quarter of a light minute. With enough Crystals to at least negate the 50, it's over 13 minutes, more than the mean distance between Earth and the Sun, and that's ignoring the Materials Science bonus, which would set it to nearly 140 light minutes even at current MS. This is C'Tan-tier bullshit, because that's more than halfway to Neptune.
