Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 18: Ravaging Rapscallions Rapidly Regret Regular Rampages

It'll probably be rather difficult to keep Bakuda both alive and captured but if we can pull it off she'd be an incredibly useful asset (proooobably not Ally until we can Social-Fu her towards righteousness).

Consider: so long as she does so in bomb format, Bakuda has no problem creating all sorts of exotic effects such as time dilation, time stoppage, matter conversion, etc. Even beyond the obvious, this has a number of applications:

- Our tinker allies can study this in an attempt to replicate it or fuel their own designs. Direct boost to Armsmaster and Dragon in particular.

- Iris can study the effects to greatly enhance his knowledge of Earth-Bet physics.

- Integration via TIE will give us the blueprints. This means we can replicate the bombs or, better yet, create the blueprints so that the PRT/Dragon/Masamune can replicate them instead. Blueprints also probably make it easier for Iris and others to gain that delicious knowledge.

Pretty much.
Though I suspect that if captured, Bakuda is probably an easier sell to the PRT than Bonesaw; they like their Tinkers, and unlike Riley, her shit isn't potentially self-replicating.

I mean, String Theory managed to survive capture long enough to be thrown into the Birdcage, and her death toll was significantly higher than Quest!Bakuda's.
Among other things, she bombed a football stadium in Cardiff.
When you consider that the main football stadium there has a capacity of 33k, well....

EDIT
And as an aside, the existence of Marrow demonstrates to the PRT that Autobot is a thing; we're not just a fluke.
This means that they are going to be engaged in making contingency plans should they have to fight him.
And given that Bakuda has a demonstrated ability to create exotic weaponry, they are going to want to keep her alive just in case.
That probably means they won't give us access to her bombs though...

Yep! People need to remember that Cauldron will sometimes actively intervene to keep alive and well parahumans they consider might be useful against Zion, and in general has created global power structures such that a troublesome parahuman is more likely to be kept alive.

I vote for longer updates, with the occasional shorter ones to let off steam when they grow too gargantuan.

While I'm thinking about it - instead of focusing exclusively on Canary, it mught be a good idea to go for a much more broad effort. A Second Chances program for capes that made a big mistake, or just got dealt a crappy hand in life, etc. Once we've got our Jade we can use the program to, among other things, help those whose problems are mostly shard-based.

I'm thinking of Damsel in particular, who has a pretty neat power whose problems - the need to be top dog and her power incontinence - are almost exclusively shard-derived.

Plays into our angle of being Pro-Case 53, as well. More than a couple of them have control issues or other compulsions they'd rather be without (like Sveta, for instance).

It's practical, it's excellent for PR and it's unambiguously heroic. I can't object to that at all. The only issue would be getting people who'd committed crimes because of their issues to come forward. Most of them would probably think it was a sting or that we were just going to Master them into working for us rather than just helping with their issues. Not sure how to fix that without just throwing UMI at the problem.

Our backgrounds are actually very well suited for this task and we already have the Wyld Hunt as the flagship/model example. And you can bet Cauldron (and, by extension, the PRT) are gonna support this 100%.

First and foremost is the charm that you have the least information on: Shard of the Perfect Administrator. You close your eyes and focus your mind on analyzing the charm - it seems to be built into your skull, and has a massive essence commitment already allocated to it. You notice three sub-modules but you feel like you're not capable of activating them yet - your essence reservoir is too small to fully power even the first of the three, let alone the other two. However, activating the main charm itself is only a matter of focus and will, and appears more of a toggle than an empowerment. Opening your eyes and readying yourself for anything, you steel yourself and activate the charm.

You reflexively void the contents of your stomach before you manage to toggle the charm off.

The body in the captain's quarters has 274 maggots in it laid by 78 flies. 92 cockroaches and 35 nymphs also feast on the waste in the room, while there are 301 other cockroaches throughout the ship. 29 crabs rest in the pockets of water and air made by the warping of the ship's submerged hull. In the ship directly south, there is a wasp's nest with a queen with 106 wasps protecting it. The wooden boat directly south-east has 1184 termites throughout its hull…
I was rereading the quest. Did we ever figure out what was up with the body? Did anything ever come of it?

Agenda Recalibration Protocols, Conceptual Entropy Module or Pattern Facilitation Module are all applicable here, and probably on the shopping list for our Starmetal or Orichalcum diplomat.
Even Charm-less, a reputation for fair-handedness when dealing even with villains during this S9 attack will help.

I mean, we're putting effort into saving the Boulder Builders, and it wasn't that long ago that their in-fighting got a whole bunch of civilians killed.
Bet that they are none too popular for that, despite being Philly's most powerful gang, and the fact that they bunkered down instead of helping out is only going to exacerbate that.
If we were helping even them out, villains are more likely to believe we keep our word/take responsibilites seriously enough to be fairly trustworthy.
Additionally, making whatever therapies we develop for Case53s available regardless of affiliation will also help there.

Also, have this potential pic of a motivated Uzu/Tatsu
Because it turns out that getting grabbed by murderhobos does wonders for motivating one to train.
Well, either that, or you break entirely.

Y'know, it just occurred to me that both Uzu and Tatsu have been fairly comprehensively outed.
The Nine have been toting them around without masks in attacks on villains and civilians.
So yeah, secret identity gone.
This will be a problem.

The fact that Missy's face was shown on national TV as a prominent victim means she's basically outed as well; any citizen journalist will find it pretty easy to put two and two together when she's identified as a ward of the state who moved to Philly from Brockton Bay.
Even worse, Jack had Director-level access to parahuman identities as well as the Exalted briefing primer.
Expect that one of his final fuck-yous is likely to be a dump of Philly Protectorate secret identities as well as Exalted info all over the Interwebs.

Positive note: at least we'll be able to hang out in public.

Gromweld: i am worried about the status of your life: according to the time zone in which i live, your post was made at the 4:44 AM. There is the very high chance that your dices are sending us a message, or that you are in their powers as a puppet for their wills.

Please exorcise your dices and then keep them in the sun all the time you can, i am telling this for your own good.
