Alchemical Solutions [Worm/Exalted] Thread 18: Ravaging Rapscallions Rapidly Regret Regular Rampages

people want to save Bonesaw because she's powerful, useful, cute(in a horrifying way); but most importantly Canon proved that she is savable and isn't irredeemable.
of course this ignores the fact that it took 2 years away from Jack and Contessa to do it, thus making it unfeasible for us to pull of.

personally if you'd asked me before this S9 arc I'd be all for trying to save Bonesaw, but not now after what she's don't to the Twins and Vista.

On Paige. she didn't know that her power have a master effect, she just though that it made her better at singing(think Uber but only for singing), and that she didn't use her power against him deliberately, it was still bleeding off/lingering from one of her performances.

Uh, she did know her power had the effect, she uses it recreationally to boost the mood of everyone listening to her music. The problem was a power misfire, which can't be proven that it's not intentional(and meanwhile you have an extremely gruesome injury to gross out the jury)

your right, I misremembered what she knew(I blame fanfiction and that it's been something like 2 years since worm)

"My power? I sing. Really well."
The Asian girl frowned, "Whaf elth?"
"I… it makes people feel good. When I get going, I can affect them, alter their emotions, make them susceptible to following instructions."

I- I guess I was still amped up from my performance, and my power's effects were still empowering my voice, or he was in the audience and was pretty heavily affected.
her power ramps up, and lingers in such a way that she cannot be sure if her power hadn't cooled down completely from her performance, or if it did and he had been in the audience and still under the effect from then. of course you have to take her statement with a grain of salt as she admits that she was drinking .
however the conflict went down between paige and her Ex, the trial was a travesty

The trial was, but basically a pretty human travesty rather than a conspiracy. People are afraid and disgusted. People want to send a message that this sort of thing won't be tolerated(missing the point between accidental power use by a rogue and a villain's active mutilation.

And of course, with her ability to speak restricted during her captivity, I doubt she could have asked to hire a decent lawyer, or even explained much of the case.

FTFY

And she is supposed to know sign language...
Why?

Regarding writing - I had the impression she was held pretty much incommunicado, incuding with her lawyer.
And just try to describe your day or any situation in detail to a friend, using only pen and paper, with limited time available.

You are severely underestimating just how difficult, time consuming and inexact it will be.

I was making a joke since even if she could use sign language, the full body Hannibal Lector straightjacket restraints would prevent her from moving her hands and arms

I mean to write something like "I want a better/new lawyer" or something

My guess is, she was so limited in her communication she did not even notice how bad her lawyer truly was.
We notice a lot of signs to such things while we speak, and since she was unable to converse with him...

A shock she may have had and railroading could have added to the effect.

She knew he wasn't even trying as he never even replied to her emails. Also he was appointed to her despite her wanting her own lawyer.

Zombified or mind-controlled capes would be classified as 'interns', I suppose, as they certainly aren't being paid for the word they're doing and aren't full members. And like any organization worth their weight, the Slaughterhouse 9 go through interns at a quick clip.

Missy and the Twins are really strengthening their resumes!

So, as I toil away on this update, a thought has occurred.

Would people rather I go back to shorter, more rapid-fire updates - like how I did when the quest first started - or keep the larger updates with more time between them? The former method means either less detail or slower in-universe action, while the latter means you folk need to wait longer between massive updates.

Keep the larger updates, imo.

Larger updates.

I'm torn.

On the one hand shorter updates means I get my fix faster and potentially greater player control over details.

On the other shorter updates means they're shorter (duh), more frequent voting (unless the shorter updates were treated as partials instead of complete), and greater temptation for the QM (who derives sustenance from player tears) to use cliffhangers.

I think I prefer the bigger updates too.

That is something I've also considered: when doing longer updates (like right now), posting the update in sections so that people can get their fix/discuss stuff as I work instead of waiting for the whole thing. When I finish I'd post the whole compiled thing for Index purposes, but there would be less waiting between voting and reading.
