Aiding the E.G.G.M.A.N. (Sonic)

so I was thinking about what kinds of badnicks wouold actually work for an ice zone besides penguins because they're obvious and I came up with two, a generic wolf badnick potentially given ice weapons (this would serve as a melee badnick since the ice army doesn't actually have one yet) and some kind of snow fox badnick (which I feel would be a more mid range fighter puting more emphasis on the cryo weapon it would inevitably get)

the thing is though I feel like the snow fox just works better if there's also a fire fox badnick

We could put a walrus in there; an icicle cannon would be a decent ranged weapon, and could easily be camouflaged as tusks. Any suggestions on melee? Tusks seem like they'd be pretty awkward...

Thats not a bad idea and if needs be we can create variety types of them or just make some ice weapons for the egg pawns. Then we can do other elements. not bad.

We can have snowman themed turrets.

So we have
Wolfs
Snow Fox
Orca's
Rams
walrus
Redone on egg pawns wep
Submarine Orca

We can do an egg carrier as an orca!

Okay, thinking about it more, a walrus would probably make a good mid-boss at minimum, and could even reasonably be a full-on second boss, since real flesh-and-blood walruses are so big. ...In fact, I just checked, and an adult walrus typically weighs twice as much as a polar bear.

Being so big that bears don't wanna mess with them seems like decent material for a boss, don't you think?

I feel like that would be too similar to the bear badnick. we should do something more unique for the miniboss. I've got a few ideas for that. a nine tailed version of the snow fox badnick don't you dare try to make it humanoid. A fenrir badnick. an orca that would attack you from under the ice (but that would only work near water). a cryo tank or some other machine not based on any animal, although that would kinda be a stretch.

that's all I can come up with for now.

They don't feel very similar to me, but that's just me. I still feel that a walrus is just too big to be a mook, though.

...How about a snowy owl mook? We don't have any flying units planned for the ice stage yet, and snowy owls fit thematically without being cliche. Either have it dive-bomb enemies, or carry things to drop on targets.

first off, the problem was that the walrus would just be another big bruiser robot, they may not be similar themselves but they do similar things.

also I had no idea snow owls were a thing and that is a great idea

Okay, that makes sense. Sorry, kinda short on sleep right now so I might have issues following your thought process at times.

And I didn't realize they were a thing either until I deliberately looked up polar animals, but as soon as I saw them I decided they'd be good for filling a blatant hole in the stage's lineup.

I think using pykrete somewhere would be fun in a ice level. Sure would be rather vulnerable to fire, but at same time as strong as concrete. Even better if we used it for the ground in some areas to get a situation like if Sonic gets a fire shield or something the ground will start melting or something.

Probably not that important, but there is the Cross fox...

We can have snowman themed turrets.
There is in the E-series a turret type, if it exists could use it as a base but I can't recall where on the timeline they were.

what's the cross fox?

also I can't believe I forgot about the idea to use cryo variants of Fire Breath to freeze whole areas and create new ice levels
This is a Cross Fox:

It's a varient of the Red fox who has a black stripe running down it's back and another stripe running from the shoulders resulting in it seeming to have a cross shape. Canada is one of the places they can be found.

There's the retooled Fire breath idea changing its element to ice (Frost Breath) to bring the ice level to our enemies that was discussed earlier.

As for Egg-pawn variants there's skiing/snow boarding ones, melee ones equipped with snow shovels, egg pawn mounties on robot horse back that shoot guns, lumberjack ones with a maple leaf shield, hockey player Egg-pawns that could also be reused for a sports show on Egg-Tv.

Y'know, I just realized: An octopus would probably be pretty appropriate for Oil Ocean, wouldn't it? I mean, obviously not 1:1, but it's an ocean, which octopi live in, and ink and oil look similar, so...

Basically, do you guys think we should make this guy the Oil Ocean boss?
