Aiding the E.G.G.M.A.N. (Sonic)

[x] The Ancient Ruins base
Probably the most safest of the three especially since Sonic won't get to it until he sees the boss going there. Not sure what other benefits we can get from this.

A Mobile Flying Base, but Sonic and his friends will know where it goes, but Eggman and the E-Series will be on here as well, a good way to see how they work and how we can make upgraded mass production models.

[x] The Egg Carrier

I hope we can upgrade a few Adventure 1 Badniks.

Edit:A lot of people will fight here, and who knows we'll probably get to see how Sonic fights now, or even see Gamma and Beta MK 2 fight each other.

Perhaps we can hedgehog-proof it and find stuff to research there if Sonic won't be around for a while. Admittedly I was tempted by the other Egg Carrier as if we could survive that, if I remember correctly, it becomes a new area for Sonic and crew to raise Chao at.

Thus, we get access to a garden, and access to Chao, who we could research for multiple things.
1. Reincarnation
2. Rapid Evolution
3. How the hell do the detached orbs on their heads work? Is it some kind of localized levitation? How do they shape to reflect emotions? Is it a manipulatable liquid?
4. It gives us a potential route to find and capture an Omochao
5. Researching an Omochao can show us how they run without animals. Essentially, we can skip over the hard parts of figuring out how to make our robots run without animals by figuring out what powers Omochao, stealing that design, making tweaks as necessary to improve it, and probably renaming it something egg related.

Also, once we're done with it, we can probably copy the template for a free body or stealth unit. Who would expect an Omochao to work for Robotnik? Also, good aerial views and durability considering how much Sonic can toss them around. Call them Omeggs? Eggchao? Chegg? Omochegg? Eggomochao? Eggochao?

Edit: I just reread this and realized I've convinced myself with my own logic to vote for the other Egg Carrier. It's a one way ticket to Chao and being in what is essentially a safe zone for the rest of Adventures 1. Enough of it survives to become a Chao Garden on a tropical island, so as long as hole up in a safe spot on the ship, we should survive the fall.

What's around the Ruins anyway?

Won't Chaos destroy it first before it becomes a Chao Garden?

We probably should think of a new design first before we start giving them a new name.

Ah right, after double checking the Wiki, yeah I mixed the two up. In that case, I want to go to the Egg carrier. All we gotta do to get to the garden from there is written in the wiki. We really need to advise Eggman to not make his password EGGMAN, because he does that here.

Link to Egg Carrier Island

Anyway, double checking the island and what's there, we have a giant missle jutting our of the ground and asking to be researched. Along with the Chao Transfer thingy if it's around and the teleporters. Which should allow us access to the other gardens. This is an easy, sneaky, and covert way to go kidnapp an Omochao, as I think there is one in the first garden gotten in the Square.

As for the The Ancient Ruins Base, I believe it's referring to the Final Egg bass hidden in the Mystic Ruins.
Final Egg is an endgame fortress level. We likely already have access to everything here since we work for Eggman.
Mystic Ruins is the area around the remnants of the Ancient Echidnas Civilization now known as the Ancient Ruins. There is not much to look at but archeological interests here unless we want to raid Tail's Workshop while he's out or Angel Island while it's crash landed. There is a Chao Garden here that can be accessed via the cave next to Tail's Workshop.
Ancient Ruins the remnants of the ancient Echida Civilization. Inside is the Lost Maze which contains what may be the one thing we be be able to research, the Lit Panel(s).
A Lit Panel allows the player to walk on walls as long as they are on the Lit Panel.

Also, I've been doing some research on how we could acquire an Chao egg even if we don't get to and commandeer an garden first. In Station Square, there is an Antique Shop with a Chao Egg atop a pressure plate that locks the shop door, not allowing you to leave. To solve the puzzle and get the egg, you need to bring a rock to put on the pedestal's pressure plate after you take the egg off so that the door will open up.

Just scroll down to the Antique shop entry and you'll see a description of the process to get the egg. While we will probably need to cryofreeze or otherwise store the egg until we figure out how to make the right conditions for a Chao Garden so we can create our own one from scratch before we try and hatch this one. I wonder if there are other eggs obtainable this way. I'll have to look it up.

While the chance is thin, I do want to at least take the chance to have access to the Chao Garden.

Besides, maybe we can get some interesting data from Chaos's fight?

Okay, good news everyone! It turns out there are 3 secret Chao Eggs hidden in Sonic Adventure that if we go for them first thing, we can probably snag. Here is a link discussing how to get all three Secret Chao Eggs. Plus, as long as we don't choose the Other Egg Carrier, we should have immediate access to one of two of the eggs.

If we choose the Egg Carrier, we just need to make a quick jog down to the prison inside the ship and press some buttons to open up the cell the Black Chao Egg is locked in. Normally only Amy or Gamma would be able to access this area, but if we trust our new Metal Sonic to not break things, we could send him to do it quickly.

In fact, the Metal Sonic is probably our best bet in sending to retrieve the eggs due to his speed. We want to be in and out fast of some areas.

The Egg Carrier Chao Egg is probably the least risky to get due to it being on our own turf, unlike the Golden Chao Egg in Station Square and the Silver Chao Egg in Mystic Ruins.

I've already described how the Golden Chao Egg is in an Antique shop and you essentially have to pull an Indiana Jones and switch it out with a rock so you can get out with it, but one thing we need to keep in mind is how we get to the shop and back to our base without the main characters noticing or running into us. We could check the timelines of the various plots and try and coordinate getting the Golden Chao Egg with whenever the most people are out of the city.

Now, I know if we choose the Ancient Ruins we will be close to the Silver Chao Egg, but there are some complications in getting it. Said complications is that is is hidden behind a waterfall in the lake which directly across from Tails' Workshop/House. When we go for this egg, we will want to probably stake out Tails' Workshop first and wait for him to leave before we go for the Silver egg. Once again, we need to worry about getting to and back from the area with the Egg without being spotted.

Ultimately, I think focusing on us acquiring the three eggs during Adventure will be the best course of action. I believe this because Robotnik and what we have him will be doing the majority of the fighting, and our job is to research.

If we need permission to send out units to get the eggs, we just need to pitch the idea of researching Chao to Eggman. Which I think we can do if we emphasize the Reincarnation aspect of the Chao and how we could research that. He seems like the type to find immortality appealing. Another aspect we could try and pitch is rapid evolution, but that may not interest him due to focusing on robotics. He might be interested in the innate levitation of the Chao's head sphere. If we could utilize that, we could make self floating troops, no jet packs necessary. The ability of the Chao to shape said spheres to match their emotions implies it being a liquid of sorts or perhaps illusionary. Either way, both would be good research material, as the former could allow us to make robots that are semi-liquid, as in they are mostly fluid but have an solid AI core with whatever is necessary to manipulate the fluid, or we could make liquid controlling robots. Which actually might be the best pitch the Eggman if Reincarnation doesn't work, as Sonic's biggest weakness is water. With these Robotic Waterbenders, we bring the water to Sonic, making it so he can't just avoid it. These things would probably become Sonic's worst nightmare. Illusions would be cool too, but the ability to manipulate liquid is more threatening to Sonic.

Anyway, I think this concludes my pitch to why we should get all the Chao Eggs. I once again want to stress the necessity of getting all three eggs. Eggs hidden in the world map are only a thing in Sonic Adventure 1. In 2, you have to buy them, but that requires access to the garden in the first place. Eggman does get access there, and we could ask him to bring an egg or two back, but it would take far longer to get more Chao due to having to buy eggs. Plus, the Garden is shared between all player characters, and I think creating our own personal Chao Gardens would be better so we can control what animals they are given and how they absorb Chaos Drives in Adventure 2 to raise their stats.

The only real difficultly I can see with us raising Chao is that if we don't have alignment fruit, due to us falling on the villain side, we will likely mostly create Dark Chao when Chao evolve. Which is a shame, as there is three specific and very hard to get Chao evolutions I want us to try and get after we figure out how the Reincarnation works.

Said evolutions are the Chaos Evolutions. Specifically, the neutral alignment Light Chaos, he dark alignment Dark Chaos, and the hero alignment Hero Chaos. These Chao are extremely hard to evolve into, but they are immortal. This opens up the avenue of researching immortality. We can't evolve any Chao into them right off the bat though, as the Chao has to have reincarnated at least twice before they can possibly evolve into a Chaos Evolution.

I think that covers my continued pitch for Chao. Here is the page onChao on the Sonic Wiki.

Let's just make sure that we don't hurt the Chao cause the last thing we want is for Chaos to come and wreck everything for hurting any Chao.
