Now that we've dealt with...whatever just happened, any chance you could let us know how retreating or calling in the Authority planes could've improved our chances?
Retreating would have been a roll of the dice as to what happened when the Haemonuculus-Farseer sent the construct critical. The
probable thing that would happen would be for Glass Canopy to have ceased to exist, but there were significantly worse options.
Calling in the ARE would have given you some bonuses to resisting just walking in and would have been useful for resisting, but unless you rolled
really well they probably wouldn't have arrived until the next update.
is it possible to regain those lost traits through personal actions since they are very impontant?
Yes.
Is this about an accurate writeup of what's going on with the Tier 2 Vice options?
Sort of. I probably can produce some ones that involve getting worse rather than moderating some of the negative traits.
Most likely, Chaste reinforces her tendency to have standards and Discerning Lust means she's particularly enthusiastic when it's appropriate to engage in such behavior.
Pretty much. Although the combination is
not stable and Chaste is likely to get dumped within the next year or two. It's a worse combination than Humility and Ambition.
We have literally nothing that is capable of actually killing this thing do we?
There are a few exotics you have on hand that could certainly
help. If you had been in a mech that might have done something too.
The only reason we got through this without dying is luck and RNG
Dying... no, no I was not expecting you to die here, although getting a seriously negative personality rewrite was possible. You
could have when the Eldar lost control of the construct, but that was because of the RNG in the first place. You can in fact see where I was
going to end the post but I figured there would be a motion to 'Just shoot the bastard' so I decided to give one last roll, and you saw how that went.
The choice was going to be between either "Fight a single daemon solo" or "You get your army, the daemons get theirs, endurance competition!"
Can we also, later, take action to personally select the party for balance? Mirande's the Wizard and Diplomancer, but we need at least one Ranger and a Fighter. Do we have any Druids, or perhaps a nice Sorcerer?
Yes. You have a few years leeway to get ready, Mirande doesn't have to leave as soon as she turns 20... but I suggest not pushing it in delaying too much.
Also, since Mirande is a diviner, she
may have been picking up "I should really learn how to take care of myself without backup" vibes, hence why she started working on her marksmanship.
I am all for turning this into an actual roleplaying game. AN copy-pastes all of the actual build-management stuff somewhere else and replaces the front-page with stat-sheets for the party and XP totals.
There is a possibility that for the past couple of updates I have been half-assing things due to general burnout and the feeling that the game was turning the situation into "Action RNG + Number Iteration Simulator!" and wanted to spice things up a bit but figured a scenario where you get the option to learn what is coming next a bit early.
Actually,
@Academia Nut does the authority have any starbombs left?
No, you're pretty sure there are none left on the planet.
Also, did we ever share willpower training with the 504?
No.
