A Villain In A World Of Heroes

Wait, did the apparently-faulty leather even come from our shop?

I hate heroes already.

[X] Trail of Blood: There are tales of those who risked death and came out stronger then ever before, you will attempt to emulate them. You will buy a sword, get a quick lesson, learn a few basics spells, and head to the forest. You will either come back stronger or not at all. (1 gold coin)

Right, so this is a spur of the moment pissed off hero who realized how fucked up he is.

Reminds me, if we went to the guards, would they toss us out, or actually try to get justice for us?

Toss you out, they don't want to become vilians themselves, and messing with a hero is not a good idea anyways. "Evil" heroes get away with things, until "good" heroes stop them, a non-hero (that isn't a gaint monster or something) beating a hero is extremely rare, the guards couldn't do anything even if they wanted too.

Right, if we live.... Revenge. Find what our power is, and slit his throat in the dead of night.

They would not help us villan remember. Somehow people can tell who Heroes are so the same would apply for villains

Actually, it doesn't. You usually can't tell if someone is a villian, although exceptions exist. You are not one of those exceptions judging by the fact that people will still speak to you.

can you rephrase that? Im sorry im just having a hard time understanding what you mean here

Heroes' plot shields usually protect them against monsters, but not always. Heroes die from monsters more then they die from other people who aren't heroes. It is rare for heroes to be killed by non-heroes either way, though.

Okay Leaving aside Plot shields how strong can we get compared to heroes? and How strong can monsters get here? is there something along the lines of say this?

It usually does, but there are exceptions and those exceptions are more common when it is a giant monster versus a regular person (not that any hero-killer is "regular")

Obviously, we must create/genetomagically engineer an entire genetically viable* Giant Monster species, like a race of Jotun (Norse Ice Giants), because that would fit in with the Hard work/Craft/Patient traits garnered by our formative years as a Leather worker, as well as run with the idea of our minions succeeding because whether or not they succeeded wasn't included in our win condition**, because that means that if we make Jotuns, we haven't won, if we have Jotuns tear him limb from limb we technically haven't won, Jotuns, as giant monsters, can sometimes beat Heroes and having a race of them to help us would make our task extremely easy, and, last but not least, it is a way later on to acquire more (Much Harder to kill) family members in a way that doesn't involve marriage or adoption, both of which would be extremely bad for the other party in question because we're a villain.

The does, of course, require us spending years becoming a master Magi and Geneticist AND attaining the Title "The Wizard Witch who did 'it'***", but it's a wonderful late game goal.

* (as in, there are enough of them with different enough DNA to support the species' expansion, accounting for casualties from unnatural causes)
** (Which I suggest to be something like "Personally inflict injuries upon the Hero responsible for our father's death until such time as he is dead"&)
***(This title being a reference to the particularly insane practitioners who created those wonderful creatures, Owlbears, which, if they don't already exist, we should totally also make as an enforcer)
& = Is just speculation

&(And, if we can swing it, another personal goal would be to be harmed directly or indirectly by the Hero, so if the Universe is exceedingly literal he can't hurt us in any way anymore, and if it decides to make us unhappy that we "Succeeded in our goal" ala Literal Genie we can try ganking him with some cursed item of Reciprocation or something.)

I read that post. I know I did. So how did I immediately forget what was in it? I'm so stupid sometimes. Sorry.

You aren't a farmer, and, I believe I said this before, you don't have a win condition, only a lose condition.

I got a question about the "Heroes Always Win" mechanic.
Do they ALWAYS win (except in competition against other Heroes) or do they just USUALLY win?
If they ALWAYS win, how does that work? Like, say, this Hero who has never cooked a thing in his life joined a cooking contest. Would he somehow be able to make a perfect souffle? Or would his competition somehow (through a string of accidents) make something worse than what he made? Or would he make something terrible while they make something wonderful, and he's STILL declared the winner?

There is technically no limit, assuming you make all the right choices, and I don't know for sure right now, we are way to early in the quest.

Worse
worse than a 150 Meter Radioactive energy beam firing Monster? Hmmm i can work with this... We might be fated to lose but a tired hero vs a godzilla tier monster? i like those odds

they ont allways win it's just "Villans" never win " In the end"
take a look on a earlier post of mine the idea is basicly the comic on page 2

Oh, not only do Heroes not always end, but we only lose in the end. That's great. We just have to delay "the end" as long as we can, and leave a few Heroes laying around to keep challenging us, leading the resistance and what-not. Heck, we can LET them win a few times, while we slip out (maybe leave a decoy to die in our place), and start subverting their new order.
