[X] FIGHT IT!
-[X] In case fighting it is too much trouble because we are a pathetic, weak willed sissy, plant a few around the pond, a few around the clearing, and keep a few in our pockets for placement in areas populated by people we dislike.
I'm just going to say, right now, that we need a non-Dice Gods way of getting things done, at least in our mind.
Idea: Mind readers read what we show them, not the character's thoughts. So they read Cedra's mind, and they get SV instead of her surface thoughts (Does she even have surface thoughts not implanted in her or voted for by us?).
Mind reader: *Spying on Cedra* Let's see what your plans are...
*What he sees*
1: *Odd scribbles*
2: *More Odd scribbles in reply, followed by video*
*A sudden cracking sound engulfs him as he is sucked into full mental contact*
*The vistas of the vacuum of space encompass the Mind Reader as illegible runes scatter down from an invisible wall stretching from and expanding to the depths of the cosmos accompanying strange creatures as they converse with each other in an arcane and sibilant tongue, the moving images commonly associated with memories by the Mage blasting eldritch sounds and impossible happenings across the inner universe he has found himself in. Enthralled, he watches as two giant beings in suits of strange armour grow ever larger, eventually encompassing a space larger than, from what the Mage can see, all of creation as they duel.*
Mind Reader: Argle-flargle-blargle *Falls down in Real Life because he had a seizure*
Not going to happen, but one can dream.
At the very least, we should be able to ignore mental influence a few times a day. There's no point in playing a quest if you have to deal with control being taken away from you constantly by the latest monster-of-the-day.
