I'm inclined towards Always Forward + Amazing Grace, personally. We can get Fisher King and an EFB, get a partial Forebear's Blade repair, resurrection capability, and accelerate Gisena's growth curve.

That's my reasoning as well. Make Whole + Sealing Protocol Level I boosts all of Gisena's physical stats enough that she can more easily keep up with combat, boosts her mental and social stats for planning and future research, empowers Nullity still further (important both for combat and curse mitigation), gives us a resurrection mechanic for if we get ganked, and gives us probably ~70% of the Blade repair of the dedicated repair option. It seems to be more time efficient in general then Plowshares to Swords, right now.

Chilling is done, time to train and fix the broken stuff.

Edit. I'm assuming that the Armor will run it's full course when summoned, and that you can't summon and unsummon it at will until the duration is exhausted?

[X] Amazing Grace
Remember that Amazing Grace costs both choices by itself...
Heads up, but Amazing Grace uses both choices.

EDIT: And, nvm. I posted too late.

[ ] Aeira - Though Hunger is now King of her polity and can ostensibly fund - or simply order forgiveness - of her family's debts, the Shadowcord specialist has continued to serve ably and without complaint. She's always been a well-prepared, capable, and professional ally, and perhaps Hunger should accompany her expeditions into the Realm of Evening. +++++Aeira, ++Aeira Power, +???.
Wasn't there something about Aeria's power synergizing with something in the Realm of Evening? If so, the ??? is very likely that and could be very relevant given her intrigue abilities will truly come into play when the arc transitions into the Human Sphere. You could get further power enhancements, further knowledge about the realm itself, or given it's a mystery box maybe a boat. Hunger does need something to fish with after all.

Doubling the effect of our new augmentation can be pretty useful. One of Supreme enclosure's problem is that we have to negotiate and give something in return, the augmentation would pretty much ensure we get a good deal.

*Gisena can also design an Edeldross Grace for Hunger, though it'll likely be somewhat weaker than the findross Graces she uses herself. Nonetheless, the right Grace could be a powerful force multiplier.
*I don't expect this to win, but you can also spend 12 Arete to upgrade the Moderate Grace to a Major, allowing her to produce three Major Graces within this single jaunt into the Realm of Evening! Depending on what's picked, you could accelerate her along the Grace-creation exponential growth curve by the factor of three ordinary weeks, which could be highly relevant in the short- and medium-runs...
Question.

What if Hunger picked up the Quintessence EFB instead? Though now that I think about it, Edeldross discounted it by 1 Arete though it should be 24 arete rather than 25. Of course, Gisena is treated as having the Total Eclipse EFB due to the Renaissance Woman EFB already...

[ ] Total Eclipse - 25 Arete. The numinous time of sacred transfixion. Night sweeps field and horizon in a thundering advance, halo of the blinkered sun the only residue of day. Twilight's orphaned half-brother, cast aside on the eve of creation and trotted out only for spectacle and occasion. No longer, for the flare of your cloak is this twilight pretender, the liminal glow that precludes day and evening both. Unlocks the [True Quintessence], by which She Who Was The Maiden attained supremacy over the Manifest Realm, and for which the Maiden's successors might one day be anointed.

Not that I want this one -- especially as it uses up both weeks of the trip, so...

Anyway. On other topics...
[ ] Evening Sky - Philosopher's Wreath - 7 Arete (2 picks)

The twilight hours are a time of contemplation, growth of mind and spirit. Perhaps there are more things in earth and heaven than are dreamt of in one's philosophy. But that may not always be so.

They for whom the heavens themselves are aegis and raiment, these are the hours to speak - perchance to dream. And in dreaming, grow strong beyond the imagining of mortal men.

[+Intelligence, +Wisdom, +Charisma]

Select one magic system which you have personally encountered and which is no greater than the Noble Praxis. You may use that system to the limits of your Intelligence or applicable Attributes, developing any appropriate qualities within reason, but this may no more than double your overall advancement. Alternatively, you may improve an existing magic you possess under the same conditions, hastening your rate of advancement in that art by [Intelligence x 100%] and substantially increasing both the variety and the conceptual potency of effects available to it.

Allied mages with which the wearer dialogues extensively find they may develop novel applications of existing abilities and steadily grow in knowledge & power with effort, independent of their own paradigm. This can no more than triple their overall level of advancement, but any progression done on their own will raise this cap. Should said mage no longer be allied, the wearer may strip this power at will, like a dream dissolving at break of day.
Do the Empyrean Signs qualify? Since, well... They are "no greater than the Noble Praxis", soooo... If nothing else, it'll boost Adorie's research efforts.

Though it might be a better choice to pick Surgecrafting, as more of our party have that. So more mages to interact with and boost. Especially Aobaru, as it'd boost him, too. And he's got a big quest ahead of him.

Also also, speaking of Surgecrafting... What would it take to give Adorie a Surgecrafting Element? That is, can we recreate the Elixir Springs in here, and have her sit in it for a few hours and Hunger bloodcast on her?

Would it require the Plowshares to Swords thing to work out -- as that sort of thing might be exactly what falls under the "crafting-related functions of the Realm" of the Plowshares option? Or would it require a "Something Else" option?

Signs are on par with Royal Praxis and Royal > Noble

What if Hunger picked up the Quintessence EFB instead
It's worth mentioning that True Quintessence is a 25A Evening Sky advancement, and would be subject to the boost from the Tower. I'd love to see the new blurb, even though I think that the sky + MAEG gang has had enough victories lately. Splitting our attention to chase a second source of Graces would be pretty silly, tbh

There's much to be said for securing the Fourth and Fifth Sign now... you don't know when you'll have an opportunity to exploit the Empyreal Signs in the future, given their otherwise-long research times, and they offer immense value as part of a magic system only a hair below the Royal Praxis itself!
Nah, the Signs are actually pretty strong. Only Edeldross would qualify from what what we have. Not that it would be bad necessarily; maybe it would actually let us develop it for a change instead of ignoring it!

This is also a good idea. Since we will likely have to search for Decimator anyway, can we briefly visit the Elixir Springs for this purpose @Rihaku?

i very support this tactic. Our bloodcasting is much more powerful than it was when we did the previous element unlocks. So the process should be safer than it was then, and potentially more powerful (especially since we purified & empowered the springs by killing the rotbeast!)

You know now that I think about it...

... This is literally precisely the exact sort of emergency situation/crunch time that we wanted Grail Keeper for
.

We don't have to subject the Realm of Evening to full-scale Decimation for 8 days at all! Or our territories for hours/however-long-it-takes!

We just take the Curse into ourselves!

... So yeah.

Take "Always Forward" and then make damn sure to select Fisher King as one of the 2-Pick choices.
[ ] Sate the Hunger - It's time to refresh A Hunger Sated. Now that you've mitigated the Decimator's Affliction further, this should last for two subjective months... or longer, if taken in conjunction with [ ] Always Forward and purchasing Fisher King. Without this, the Realm of Evening will be infinitesimally diminished by a few days of Decimation and Hunger will have to go looking for another Decimation target with the Lens immediately upon emerging... but given the opportunity costs here, perhaps that relatively trivial inconvenience should not be given an outsized influence on his decision-making?
I don't think sating Decimator in the realm is worth a week of effort, when we have the Decimation Lens and can probably date Decimation once we leave relatively easily.
... Um...

Well, thinking about it...
[ ] Always Forward -

*Gain 12 picks for the week. No Advancement purchased may be worth more than 2 picks.
*Gain proficiency with basic combat-related tasks performed by the Realm.
*You can finally finish Fisher King and purchase other Advancements requiring picks!
*Grail Keeper: At any time while within a land he rules the wielder may take on the Decimator's Affliction into himself. For the duration, the Decimator's Affliction merely poisons the land, rendering it barren and and its residents infertile, rather than claiming lives. Territories not under the wielder's rule are not affected by this mitigation. This causes him to suffer the Affliction of Leprosy and the Mutilating Affliction for the duration.
... Isn't this literally why we picked up Fisher King for?

To mitigate and contain the Decimator's Affliction, for those times when we don't have a target/can't afford to take the time to take out a target?

Isn't this precise exact situation, exactly the sort of "Oh shit, emergency!" emergency situation that Grail Keeper is supposed to be for?

*Pick Always Forward + Plowshares + Adorie + Nightmare Flight
*Make sure to pick up Fisher King
*Repair Versch as much as possible, under Plowshares
*Activate Grail Keeper when Decimator's Affliction comes back
*Use Decimation Lens to find a Huntress Moon/Artemisinin/Fisher King target
*Use double-boosted Nightmare Flight to immediately get there, with Verschlengorge
*Use the partially-repaired or fully-repaired Armament to defeat the Decimator's Affliction target, just in case we can't do it ourselves
*Teleport back within 20 seconds, if possible
*Adorie choice and Versch-repairing might not be necessary even, it depends.

Boom.

We still need to talk to Adorie about fonts of myth, Nilfel and her plans on what she will tell her minions. I am sad that we didn't get it last time.

Before I forget, I would make a write in for us to train Adorie if I thought it had any chance. Currently Adorie's very presence boosts us significantly to the point where we can fight Armaments, however her lack of skill and experience make her a very obvious target and huge weakness in any of the fights we may face; taking her out or forcing her to retreat would absolutely be an important priority to whomever we fight. Considering this, giving Adorie training shores up what would be the biggest weakness of our current strategy, and makes us much harder to deal with in combat. As support, Adorie is relatively squishy right now, even considering the fact that (hopefully) she is part of Undying Vanguard simply because she wouldn't know how to defend herself from a peer-level opponent.

So I think this is something we need to shore up soon, and I'd be willing to give up the picks for it. Is there any more support for this?

[X] Amazing Grace
[X] Gisena

[X] Armor of Midnight

The Mind boggling bullshit of Gisena with Three (3!) Major Grace's is well worth spending for.

Auspice Temporal + Clarion + Mental Apex
Not only allows rapid armament scale artifice, it also dramatically speeds up future Grace development.

Archsmith + Evoker + Clarion
Sets up a truly fearsome builder.

Make Whole + Auspice Temporal + Clarion
Allows comprehensive, multi yearly resurrection.

3 Grace's is extreme bullshit.

Armor of Midnight is a solid improvement, ameliorating the cast time weakness and improving the effective maximum length it can be used. Adorie really pays her keep.

On a related note, when it becomes obvious no one will vote for Grace's I'll switch to Always Forward, Sate Hunger and Adorie.

With the aid of Hyper Reactor all the girls can be sorceresses (eventually).

[X] Always Forward
We need to be able to beat Armaments consistently and this does that.

[X] Sate the Hunger
Not a fan of decimating this realm or the rest of the world.

[X] Aobaru
The contrast between former(?) hero Hunger and current hero Aobaru is fun to see.

[X] Armor of Midnight
We'll cast this before leaving this realm. Most fights are over in seconds so this effectively gives us full armor coverage for the foreseeable future. Any transportation issues are less important than having immediate access to this level of protection.

For Amazing Grace, I think the vote for the Graces would probably be later, not within this vote since that would just end up with a big mess in the tally.

Personally, I'm tempted to go for the Archsmith's Panoply + Evoker's Panoply option if it wins tbh. It was mentioned to put her on a path to eventually exceed Skyveil herself, which is some real utter bullshit to have on our side.

[X] Aeira

I'll decide the rest of my votes later on, but i really want to have atleast one social link with Aeira before leaving the evening realm. Plus, hey, it gives her a increase in power, which can help her hide peeps and buff us.

[] Always Forward
[] Sate the Hunger

This combination shouldn't be underestimated either.

Beyond the benefits of nebulous do-gooding a target powerful enough to proc A Hunger Sated should provide significant Pick value on top of Always Forward.

If we generate enough Arete in the meantime add Always Forward on top and then add Sate the Hunger on top of that it should be well within our ability to acquire Fisher King and perhaps even Ruling Ring at the same time. Depending on the order we could either dramatically improve the value of picks generate from Sate the Hunger or increase the length of Hunger Sated.

Both would be valuable and both would fulfill some of the threads interest in finishing up Fisher King and picking up the Ruling Ring on our own terms.
