*Gisena can also design an Edeldross Grace for Hunger, though it'll likely be somewhat weaker than the findross Graces she uses herself. Nonetheless, the right Grace could be a powerful force multiplier.
*I don't expect this to win, but you can also spend 12 Arete to upgrade the Moderate Grace to a Major, allowing her to produce three Major Graces within this single jaunt into the Realm of Evening! Depending on what's picked, you could accelerate her along the Grace-creation exponential growth curve by the factor of three ordinary weeks, which could be highly relevant in the short- and medium-runs...
Question.
What if Hunger picked up the Quintessence EFB instead? Though now that I think about it, Edeldross discounted it by 1 Arete though it should be 24 arete rather than 25. Of course, Gisena is treated as having the Total Eclipse EFB due to the Renaissance Woman EFB already...
[ ] Total Eclipse - 25 Arete. The numinous time of sacred transfixion. Night sweeps field and horizon in a thundering advance, halo of the blinkered sun the only residue of day. Twilight's orphaned half-brother, cast aside on the eve of creation and trotted out only for spectacle and occasion. No longer, for the flare of your cloak is this twilight pretender, the liminal glow that precludes day and evening both. Unlocks the
[True Quintessence], by which She Who Was The Maiden attained supremacy over the Manifest Realm, and for which the Maiden's successors might one day be anointed.
Not that I want this one -- especially as it uses up both weeks of the trip, so...
Anyway. On other topics...
[ ] Evening Sky - Philosopher's Wreath - 7 Arete (2 picks)
The twilight hours are a time of contemplation, growth of mind and spirit. Perhaps there are more things in earth and heaven than are dreamt of in one's philosophy. But that may not always be so.
They for whom the heavens themselves are aegis and raiment, these are the hours to speak - perchance to dream. And in dreaming, grow strong beyond the imagining of mortal men.
[+Intelligence, +Wisdom, +Charisma]
Select one magic system which you have personally encountered and which is no greater than the Noble Praxis. You may use that system to the limits of your Intelligence or applicable Attributes, developing any appropriate qualities within reason, but this may no more than double your overall advancement. Alternatively, you may improve an existing magic you possess under the same conditions, hastening your rate of advancement in that art by [Intelligence x 100%] and substantially increasing both the variety and the conceptual potency of effects available to it.
Allied mages with which the wearer dialogues extensively find they may develop novel applications of existing abilities and steadily grow in knowledge & power with effort, independent of their own paradigm. This can no more than triple their overall level of advancement, but any progression done on their own will raise this cap. Should said mage no longer be allied, the wearer may strip this power at will, like a dream dissolving at break of day.
Do the Empyrean Signs qualify? Since, well... They
are "no greater than the Noble Praxis", soooo... If nothing else, it'll boost Adorie's research efforts.
Though it might be a better choice to pick Surgecrafting, as more of our party have that. So more mages to interact with and boost. Especially Aobaru, as it'd boost him, too. And he's got a big quest ahead of him.
Also also, speaking of Surgecrafting... What would it take to give Adorie a Surgecrafting Element? That is, can we recreate the Elixir Springs in here, and have her sit in it for a few hours and Hunger bloodcast on her?
Would it require the Plowshares to Swords thing to work out -- as that sort of thing might be exactly what falls under the "crafting-related functions of the Realm" of the Plowshares option? Or would it require a "Something Else" option?
