We'll probably do picks and Hunger Sated or picks and fixing sword. The question is, which EFB or 7 ap advancement we want to get?

Can someone compile the list of currently unlocked 7ap Advancements?
"Currently Unlocked" is actually not very clear. A lot of the advancements seem to be unique to the situation when they were offered. False Hand of the Maker, Lunar Coronet are the immediate examples, but do you even remember:
[ ] Forebear's Blade - Iron Maelstrom - 2 Arete - In the storm of war he was as a cloud-piercing pillar.
+++Protection, ++Might to yourself and your allies so long as you stand undefeated. Extremely useful in group combat. Unlocks additional options.

Hey, I just had a thought. Could the Curse Broker be responsible for the state of the Furthermost Reaches somehow? He can turn people half-Shadow Beast, maybe it's like the Kroot? That is, a race that gradually loses sentience if they do not consume things that are sentient for long enough. The Risen gain intellect by eating living people, why not avoid losing it by eating people?

Also, will there be any means of getting Colors or Numeracies for Hunger @Rihaku ? Violet and Red would be incredibly nasty with his killing ability, while Gold having a Ring and the Forebear's Blade to work with would be immense wealth even if the Realm of Evening didn't count towards it. Green would by far be the worst choice, but even having Violet-Red would make us infinitely better than Beric, by simple virtue of being able to use our Colors properly.

Numeracy One would be bonkers for Hunger, given how it clear mental fatigue and physical fatigue, which would at minimum, clear up the early forms of Exhausted basically for free once a day. The healing aspect isn't as useful, since bloodcasting makes that mostly a non-issue, but still! Numeracy Three would likely make Edelross much easier to advance if we can see Astral stuff in detail, and avoiding being swindled if we're going for 'take advantage of economic transactions not proccing Tyrant's Doom' as a solution is also amazing. Seven isn't super-great as it is, but even minor Elementalism with such a high Astral Rank could be useful if we can piggyback off bloodcasting range. Numeracy Ten and Ten Thousand are where it's really at. Ten's 'multiply strength, speed, and durability by 10' is more than 5(though less than 6 due to the +50% value per pick) +'s for Strength, Agility, and Consitution, which I suspect is more than a times 50 to combat strength. Ten Thousand? Hello skill-ups! Finally able to increase our skill at a rate similar to raw power.

The Bolt From The Blue's 'scales with physical ability' aspect would make it really powerful in Hunger's hands, and Stitch in Time can be assumed to scale with your own Astral Rank, which might give Hunger the ability to freeze Armaments. Step Up's mental boost is it's main draw, as in the build vote, and Hunger is well beyond most of Perfect Storm's effects, but the 9 sub-verses available to trade for insights could well translate into extra Arete, which we can always use.

The Trinkets are one-offs, so those are probably not for sale. Most of the Ticket powers would be nice, especially Amplitude.

Ring would probably start the Ring War, and we are nowhere near to be doing that. We barely managed to beat an Armament and now we have cracked sword. Fix the sword, get SJUC and FK and after that its RR
Ring war is unlikely to be a threat to Hunger unless it's being boosted by the Apocryphal curse. It was offered as an Apocryphal proc option in A Choice of Import when Hunger was only mid Rank so instigating it is definitely safe now.

i'm just gonna quote this for posterity

Eternity and an Hour
Eternity and an Hour

The previous winner was [X] Evening Chill with Adorie, Aobaru and Letrizia. Speaking of Adorie, you've decided to pose as her Bodyguards in the Human Sphere.

How shall Hunger spend the remainder of his time in the Realm of Evening? There is much to be done, almost infinite versatility to be captured within, but it would be best to direct his focus in a limited way for now. Choose 2. For simplicity's sake, you may not choose the same option twice. You have somewhat over 28.9 Arete.

[ ] Evening Chill - Slowly ease into his takeover of the Realm by focusing mostly on amenities and necessities. The creation of high-quality foodstuffs, sleeping quarters, entertainment and other creature comforts. Having unlocked the creation of ambrosia, relaxation on ever-greater tiers of sumptuousness awaits. ++Mental Stability.

[ ] Always Forward - Best to first master the Realm of Evening's martial purpose: the creation of challenges appropriate even to a being of Hunger's might. Now that Hunger has relaxed, it's time to taking training seriously. Experiment with one-pick fights for the first few days, then escalate into two-pick fights later on. Given the controlled conditions of the Realm, and almost trivial level of access to healing even for Hunger's Second Stage, fights within will have to be more difficult than usual to qualify for relevant quantities of experience.

*Gain 12 picks for the week. No Advancement purchased may be worth more than 2 picks.
*Gain proficiency with basic combat-related tasks performed by the Realm.
*You can finally finish Fisher King and purchase other Advancements requiring picks!

[ ] Plowshares to Swords - The Forebear's Blade is in functional condition - Gisena's findross stitching is more durable than any mortal twine - but it'd be best to repair the weapon fully before any challenging fights occur. That will require a level of mastery over the crafting-related functions of the Realm that would boggle even a dedicated archmage - but Hunger has long since exceeded such power by vast orders of magnitude. Now all he needs, is the skill.

*Having unlocked ambrosia, Hunger's chances of success are slightly improved.
*Hunger makes progress mastering the crafting-based aspects of the Realm. Though objects can't be taken out, the effects of foods and elixirs ingested within do persist. Thus, he needs to develop some kind of potion or consumable reagent that can repair a small wound in the Forebear's Blade... a treacherously difficult task, but not one beyond the power of the Realm.
*Degree of progress will depend on rolls, but skill accrued can be applied to other ends, like creating lifespan-extending vegetables for Letrizia or repairing Verschlengorge.
*If you don't fix the Forebear's Blade at some point, Hunger will have a hard time exerting his full power in prolonged engagements, especially if Adorie is not present to prevent further diminishment.

[ ] Amazing Grace - Hunger will focus all his active efforts on assisting Gisena in Grace research and creation, tripling her effective progress. This will allow her to complete one Major Working per week, allowing her to create two Major and one Moderate-level Graces for her time in the Realm. Consumes both of your picks for this vote. See example builds below. ++Gisena.

*With a Major Working, Gisena can replicate for herself any of the Graces offered to Seram in A Simple Transaction 0, or modified versions of any Grace present on the Sorceress Council. There is enormous potential and versatility here. Gisena will prioritize her personal combat ability unless directed to acquire a support Grace; reasoning that her High Grace of Nullity is essentially irrelevant until she develops combat-reflexes relevant at Hunger's level.
*Gisena can also design an Edeldross Grace for Hunger, though it'll likely be somewhat weaker than the findross Graces she uses herself. Nonetheless, the right Grace could be a powerful force multiplier.
*I don't expect this to win, but you can also spend 12 Arete to upgrade the Moderate Grace to a Major, allowing her to produce three Major Graces within this single jaunt into the Realm of Evening! Depending on what's picked, you could accelerate her along the Grace-creation exponential growth curve by the factor of three ordinary weeks, which could be highly relevant in the short- and medium-runs...

Example Builds:

Clarion Grace + Mental Apex - Receiving a massive bonus to WITS and a substantial one to INT, Gisena would be able to accelerate the pace of her future research. The psionic powers granted by Mental Apex would make her even more proficient in mental and social combat, and the overall improvement to her mental abilities would synergize massively with the Ring of Artifice, allowing her to build Armament-relevant equipment pieces with the proper resources.

Make Whole + Sealing Protocol Level I (The Grace of the Glaze) - A powerful repair/resurrection Grace paired with control over the Maiden's first-level Sealing Protocol, and thus the authority to unbind it. Strongly empowers all of Gisena's other Graces (True Nullity, True Perfecting Blade, etc), unlocks Sealing Protocol Level II (may not be as easy to develop), and the upgraded Make Whole can be used to resurrect someone, or partially repair the Forebear's Blade with a guarantee of success.

Vanquisher's Grace + Auspice Temporal - While Auspice isn't very useful in the atemporal Realm of Evening, it's still quite potent out there in the Voyaging Realm. The speed and physical attributes afforded by the Vanquisher's Grace will, when combined with Auspice Temporal and some work on the Ring of Time, get Gisena to the level of combat speed necessary to be continuously relevant on Hunger's level again.

Archsmith's Hammer + Evoker's Panoply - Full-on Over-Lady, a techno-magical tyrant whose Archsmith's Artifice, fueled by Evoker's findross, can craft workings of effortless subtlety and staggering scale. Only becomes more powerful with time as Auspice Temporal, Grace of the Glaze, and Mental Apex are added, perhaps eventually to levels capable of replicating - or exceeding - the creations of the inimitable Skyveil herself! After all, Apocalypse's nemesis focused only on linguistic association and myth, while Gisena is the veritable Renaissance Woman... with the 12 Arete upgrade, you would basically force the universe to put her down in a relatively short window, lest she become capable of simply engineering a solution to whatever problems ail you!

Somewhat lacks immediate power.

You can also make your own builds!

[ ] Sate the Hunger - It's time to refresh A Hunger Sated. Now that you've mitigated the Decimator's Affliction further, this should last for two subjective months... or longer, if taken in conjunction with [ ] Always Forward and purchasing Fisher King. Without this, the Realm of Evening will be infinitesimally diminished by a few days of Decimation and Hunger will have to go looking for another Decimation target with the Lens immediately upon emerging... but given the opportunity costs here, perhaps that relatively trivial inconvenience should not be given an outsized influence on his decision-making?

The fate of Human Sphere is at stake, after all.

*Correctly manipulating the Realm to yield a Hunger Sated target will be difficult, but should be possible within a week. It's even possible that Hunger could finish sooner, in which case he'll use the time to relax. There is a small chance that Hunger will fail to finish within a week.

[ ] Something Else - With practice, Hunger can effectively alter reality within in a myriad of ways. You may propose a different focus for Hunger this week, if you are interested in producing a specific effect. For example, he could focus all the Realm's resources on training Aobaru, if he wanted to.

---

Choose one character to focus social efforts onto:

[ ] Adorie - The Princess, now Queen of Nilfel was instrumental in Hunger's recent victories, and an eager spectator of his maritime exploits. Perhaps you can help Adorie create a palatable cover story to justify traveling with Hunger. She's upgraded one Sign already, but working together they might be able to advance even further... +++Adorie, Double effects of Sign Augmentation below, unlock second Companion EFB for Adorie, +???

[ ] Letrizia - Talking and fishing are crucial support activities, but at the end of the day the Duchess is a soldier, as is Lord Hunger. In between languorous evenings supping on ambrosia and heavenly plums, they ought to find some time to train. ++Letrizia, +Letrizia Skill, +Verschlengorge Coordination.

[ ] Gisena - Aside from providing her insights into the Realm of Evening, the Maiden of Nullity is an all-encompassing genius who has spent entirely too much time in research lately. Excited as she is by her vast and newly magical capabilities, she should still take some time to enjoy the Realm of Evening. ++Gisena. ++++Gisena if taken alongside Amazing Grace.

[ ] Aobaru - He wants to train. Hunger can train him. Personally, this time. ++Aobaru, +++Aobaru Power, though he still won't be at Hunger's own strength. Grants an additional +0.1 ISH to physical Attributes for Hunger and the party while enhanced by True Vigorflame.

[ ] Aeira - Though Hunger is now King of her polity and can ostensibly fund - or simply order forgiveness - of her family's debts, the Shadowcord specialist has continued to serve ably and without complaint. She's always been a well-prepared, capable, and professional ally, and perhaps Hunger should accompany her expeditions into the Realm of Evening. +++++Aeira, ++Aeira Power, +???.

Choose Adorie's Sign Enhancement Bonus:

[ ] Nightmare Flight - Deluge of Nightmare. Activating Nightmare Flight now allows transit to and from the target destination at rapid speed for the next ten heartbeats. Useful for bulk transportation or combat. Double Effect: twenty seconds.

[ ] Supreme Enclosure - Wintry Gaze. Negotiation is 15% more effective with summoned Astral Entities, reducing costs or increasing services by a commensurate amount. Double Effect: 30% more effective.

[ ] Armor of Midnight - Gird the Champion. Armor of Midnight can be pre-cast, then summoned at will. Duration does not diminish while the Armor is un-summoned. Double Effect: Can be pre-cast twice, for a total of two separate usages with eight-hour durations each.

Remember, it's on to the Human Sphere after this!

Fix the sword, get some picks, social with Adorie since she gives the best result here alongside the mystery box. I am very curious about that.

While the bonus is still in effect, some more CYOA Omake. I really like this gothic setting, and spent the day looking at gothic horror tropes which has really fired my imagination. Rihaku, 2 questions: 1) Are there any more furthest reaches setting details you'd be willing to share, if you don't have a plan/use for them? 2) I really like the colour powers, if I was to use the fundamental ideas of them in a worm fic for a team, and credited you, would you be happy with that?

Sure, that's fine. You could even throw Colour Blue in!

[X] Something Else: Shape the heavens of your realm so that the stars shine a blessing upon you and your companions. Given how close you have been to defeat you and you beloved partners need more Plot armour.
[X] Sate the Hunger

[X] Adorie
[X] Armor of Midnight

I feel like boosting Gisena's Graces and then having her fix the Blade may be more efficient then directly repairing the Forebears Blade using the realm of evening, so right now I'm leaning towards Amazing Grace + Always Forward.

That said, Plowshares To Swords comes with the added bonus of boosting Letrizia and possibly helping fix Versh, so Plowshares + Always Forward is also a strong contender in my eyes.

I don't think sating Decimator in the realm is worth a week of effort, when we have the Decimation Lens and can probably date Decimation once we leave relatively easily.

Hmm. Since we are going with Adorie's bodyguard plan, we should plan with her on how exactly to do that.

and the upgraded Make Whole can be used to resurrect someone, or partially repair the Forebear's Blade with a guarantee of success.

Hm, so Amazing Grace can be used to partially accomplish Plowshares to Swords... That could prove efficient.

I'm inclined towards Always Forward + Amazing Grace, personally. We can get Fisher King and an EFB, get a partial Forebear's Blade repair, resurrection capability, and accelerate Gisena's growth curve.

[ ] Nightmare Flight - Deluge of Nightmare. Activating Nightmare Flight now allows transit to and from the target destination at rapid speed for the next ten heartbeats. Useful for bulk transportation or combat. Double Effect: twenty seconds.
Doubling this boost is either an incredible amplification of power or a painful nerf here, depending on context. A few heartbeats (for Deathly Star) was nothing during the Procyon fight, because we could speed it up. Presumably we could also slow it down, and stretch out the period of unimpeded teleportation.

Twenty seconds in combat is longer than the entire Procyon fight, afaik. Would be good.

Ooh, Double Sign Augmentation? Combined with the Nightmare Flight boost, that could be seriously useful in combat. Blinking in and out of existence in a particular area as you teleport back and forth sounds tremendously useful in battle, and the longer the better for something like that. Also, that Mystery Box at the end looks shiny.

[X] Always Forward
[X] Plowshares to Swords
[X] Adorie
[X] Nightmare Flight

As for the two picks, 12 picks allows us to complete Fisher King and we have enough Arete to push through to Ruling Ring if we want to. There's a few other assorted advancements that I'd like to get if we could, like Opalescence/Iridescence/Pearlescence.

Plowshares to Swords is because Apocryphal is guaranteed to go after our ass once we get out, so we better be able to fully exert our strength.

[X] Aeira

No matter what, I want to see Aeira because she was the one actually exploring this realm last update, and I don't want to miss this obvious plot-hook. What the hell is this place even?

[X] Always Forward
[X] Plowshares to Swords
[X] Aeira
[X] Armor of Midnight

We just rush decimation afterwards. Just to remind everyone we were decimating for a few days when the quest started so this isn't anything new.
