A school for the cursed: A Psyker Quest. Warhammer 40k quest.

That's flanderization.

Guns are guns. Especially ones acquired from a registered and recognized supplier.
Am I to take this as "Nothing in these two actions:

[] Visit the old Psykana section of the Sapphire Keep:
[] Psykana and firearms:

is going to require any additional shenanigans we need to unfuck in order to use, presuming at least marginal success?"

And can we presume that if a source is either sanctioned or has no particular outstanding issues, we can expect similar later?

Because if that's not what you're saying, then you'd be the second person to misread what I'm writing and attribute my concerns to Kel, instead of random psyker lore that may or may not be trustworthy which I'm actually criticizing.

If that is what you're saying, great! Glad to hear it, I'll tone it down a bit.

Also, while I'm here, can we get a ruling about whether or not we need to spend a Turn Action studying whether or not it's safe to allow psykers to use autoguns and such? Because that's something else that was brought up.

I would rather not engage in wetwork with the criminal underworld just yet, thank you very much. Not this soon at the very least when the promise means that Occam is going to be the one doing this, and let me emphasize that Occam is not built to be subtle with his telekinesis.

What would you need to unfuck? I don't get the concern here.

Why would I give you an action to research historical examples of ways Psykers have used guns, if I didn't allow you to use guns?

Those actions are to research ways on how it was done/how it can be done. Which will then naturally be followed up by an action to start doing so, unless you roll really well.

I very much disagree, we will need a loads of Favor for building our training regimen, research more powers and get a magos handling pretty essential stuff... We cannot afford to use the favor to get things like te autoguns or the Rogue Psykers, so we should use the wetwork thingy to grease things over

Hell by reading the description of that action I find very likely that rolling well enough in Visit the old Psykana section of the Sapphire Keep would also autopass actions like Planetary Psykana variations or Find historical justification, or at least give us a significant bonus in most actions that falls under the umbrella of the Sapphire Keep Library.

No, that just means we'll just need to focus on acquiring favor in the future. What you want to do is get Occam involved in subtle wetworking operations, something that he is not built to do. You have not acknowledged where Occam's skill set lies, and because of that, your ignorance will ensure that we find ourselves in situations where we are put at a disadvantage. The Family is all about "soft" crime, and what that would entail is fairly obvious. In any case, I'm not criticizing your plan for seeking alternative methods of payment, I'm criticizing your plan because it's not a well thought out method of payment.

Wetwork can also mean. "Dissapear a building full of gangers and leave before anyone figures out wtf happened." It is you doing some killing or the like for the Cartel. Legal, ofc.

@Mayto just to clarify, can you give us some examples of what wetwork for the Brotherhood of Kel and the Family because AFAIK they seem like non violent and mostly legitimate business operatilns....

"This gang is bothering one of our outposts in The Pit. Ride with the cargo-8 and protect it."
or
A few days of telekinetically moving heavy machinery in spaces.

Its really nothing major. Just you narratively doing some small favours or actions for a group in exchange for a payment.

Thanks for the info Mayto!!!

As you can see @01paradox01 we are perfectly qualified to do the sort of wetwork that is expected of us, and it doesn't have any serious drawbacks.

It is simply a way of saving our very scarce favour and AP, and honestly doing them a favour is seems more interesting to read than "we pay them in thrones in exchange of X"

Except that working for them in such a way has consequences, both for our image with the Adeptus Terra and the other gangs. I think doing wetwork operations for one of these gangs as a sanctioned Psyker is a step up from just hiring a few trainers from the Alkata Cartel. Regardless, we still have 20 influence to spend currently, and we're likely to get more unless we fuck up. If we find ourselves running somewhat low, we can default to other methods of payment, but we're fine right now, so I don't see a need to do what you're planning.

I feel like a foundation that can make anyone we get fighting fit is a good start.

I was also hoping to focus our research towards Biomancy but everyone seems to be for gravity first.
