So are there unthreadmarked updates or is there just that much discussion fuel?

Yeah after a very long discussion with my editor we gave up on the Indivisible chapter and decided to move straight to Rend 3.4... aka That Fucking Echidna Fight™. It's at like 2k words and I did that all in one morning buuuuut the rest of the chapter is the actual fighting bit and God only knows how long that'll take. But! I can commit to putting it as my primary focus this week. Since apparently the girl who does the schedules at work didn't know I was back in town because her father didn't pass the message along... so I have the whole week off.

Also yes SV threads don't truly die they only go to sleep. But hey! At least it's not going to be a record in this fandom for longest time between chapter posts!
So, it has been slightly over a week but it isn't beyond the realm of possibility for an update soon given what ensou has said.

Help me come up with nicknames for Taylor's eyes.

"The Rainbow Eyes of Stabbing Things"
"If looks could kill"
"Best Death Glare Ever"

This situation with Noelle probably COULD resolve fairly peacefully. I doubt it WILL because as many have stated above, Taylor enjoys using her power now and would see a big monster wrecking things and coming at her and the little girl with intent to kill and Taylor would respond appropriately. The real question is if Lisa or a Traveler would be able to jump in with a comment about the situation fast enough to prevent Taylor from utterly decimating Noelle and trying to find another way through it. I'd like to see it happen since Noelle rarely gets a happy ending even in fanfics but I don't see it happening with Taylor's mindset here.

I'd like to see Noelle have a happy ending too, but there is a lot of rationale for thinking it will go the same way as it did in Hive Daughter. And there too there was actually a plausible reason for thinking that Taylor could have actually solved her problem -- but all Taylor saw was a raging beast (unsuccessfully) attempting to eat her, so she put it down like a rabid dog and moved on.

I very much doubt, all things considered, that the Travelers will be very rational about things -- but Lisa might, and in this story she is here, so there is hope.

As another possible alternative, QA might be able to counter-mind-whammy Noelle with the Shardy Stare of Friend Attraction and keep her sane enough to get all the required information to Taylor.

Nice. I just thought up the perfect one though:

The Reaper's Peepers

Confession: If I had this power, I would probably use it constantly and absentmindedly on useless crap. Old water bottle? Deathed. A pen? murderered. Junk mail? More like the world's deadest junk confetti.

I would have a very hard time resisting the temptation to trace the lines on any veggies I ever have reason to be slicing. I'd say half my onions would be full-deaded, not all of them intentionally.

Would those onions even be edible?

Not the full-deaded ones, that's for sure.

Shiki's power is weird when it comes to plants. When she uses it on flower cuttings, the flowers don't just get cut. They die. As in, they near-instantly brown and wilt to the point of "full murderered" as opposed to the "half dead" you get when you pick a dandelion.

Not something I want to do to things I need to eat.

...actually, the ability to immediately dehydrate plants would be very useful for cooking, but I feel like it really doesn't line up with a conceptual understanding of death.

Question for all,

In regard to Taylor's possible use of another weapon. Is there any possible weapon in the Wormverse with sufficient mystery that would give Taylor an edge when fighting powerful foes?

In regard to Shiki and her family sword, Kanesada Kuji, other than her skilled swordsmanship and her super body from her self-suggestion skill, the sword had a lot of built up mystery because it was over 500 years old. Thus it's stronger mystery was able to overpower weaker mystery items. Is there any such weapon in the Worm-verse that would have a lot of mystery and is weldable by Taylor?

Maybe, but I don't think it matters, since the Worm-verse in general isn't mysterious.

Tinker-tech could work in a way. Since it's basically alien technology that can't be understood by humans, it's level of mystery to the World should actually be pretty high, I think. Practically though, even if tinker-tech has 0 mystery, it can still be useful. For example, a knife that can make itself longer or shorter, such a thing shouldn't be difficult to make by any tinkerer, while also being pretty dangerous in Taylor's hands. Besides, she doesn't need more firepower, so for it to be useful, it has to have more of an utility than anything.

There may be. Any weapon that has been consistently used by some important hero or villain may have built up such over time, assuming wormverse does "mystery" even if it normally dosent mean anything.

Like, if theres one knife Jack slash has been using for a long time, or myrrdins staff, Chavaliers stuff, Queen of swords had a sword...

Dauntless' arclance is the weapon you're looking for.

Chevalier's sword would also qualify.

Though they're little different then a butter knife to Taylor.

Id hold of on dauntless stuff, because that is essentially a powereffect that may not react well to attempts by others to wield it, while the others have powers conducted trough them, but are still fundamentally normal objects (well chevaliers is a bunch of objects).

We dont know if others can even touch dauntless stuff (since his advanced gear seems to be made from some weird solid energy), and may not survive his death or even separation from him well.

One of Armsmaster's nanothorn weapons could cut a large number of lines simultaneously, since it's got bazillions* of tiny little edges all cutting stuff in parallel.

*) Since it's a Tinker weapon which runs on bullshit, the correct technical term is indeed "bazillions".
