[ ] Pushing the PRT to bring Skitter on board: 15/35
...I'd like to take this opportunity to remind people that more active intervention in Skitter's case might be necessary.

1) There's institutional inertia against openly allowing villains to switch sides (key word: openly)
2) There's personal vendettas that make her case difficult to handle. Two of the people with the greatest say in her case have a strong personal dislike of Skitter.
3) Skitter has a bundle of unresolved issues regarding institutions of power and people in positions of authority.
3a) Which means if the ball gets dropped and we're not there to catch it there's a chance that her issues would only get reinforced and she'll no longer trust us.
4) Skitter does not respond well to provocation, which is a substantial risk given all the above points.

Amusingly, Tsunami may be getting an exception to that due to your speech and the circumstances of her particular Heelface Turn.

Hers was a very public, dramatic resolution that was probably watched as much as the speech. Pretty sympathetic too. I am not surprised in the least that she's a special case. Rejecting her would be....unwise.

[x] Pushing the PRT to bring Skitter on board.
-[x] It doesn't take a mind reader to figure out that some of the people with the power to make or break the deal are highly resistant (at best!) to the idea of Skitter switching sides. Which is not to say that skepticism isn't warranted, but you don't want any lingering bad blood accidentally sabotaging her chance at redemption.

[x] Getting to know the local heroes - Protectorate, Wards, and New Wave.
-[x] The PRT has child soldiers. Child. Soldiers. Needless to say you're rather unhappy with the fact that people in positions of authority are allowing - and in some instances conscripting - minors to run around and get into fights. Why is this a thing.

[x] Getting a better idea of how superpowers work here.
-[x] The PRT has given you a rather disturbing set of data points as to why they have a Wards program in the first place. Your knowledge about how powers work back home would suggest that the idea is utterly ridiculous and yet...the situation here makes no sense. That poor Noelle girl, her very first instinct was to lash out. What the hell is going on here?

[x] Finding more civilian applications for your powers.
-[x] Just enough to get samples of omnimetal created and sent out to various Tinkers and government science teams. The PRT can handle the logistics end of things.

[x] Getting in touch with countries and heroes beyond Protectorate territory.
-[x] Start with the Guild. Even though they're based in Canada they're much more of an international force. Maybe they can give you some more insight into the world at large. It'll also be a good chance to catch up with Dragon about the omnimetal situation.

Hm. For something like this, in which we're prioritizing actions, have you thought about doing something like letting us assign the priority of each action in vote, like 1 2 3, etc. And then using that to determine how much time we spend on each from both an IC and narrative perspective?

Hmm.

I'm specifically against helping Skitter (I'm saying this while knowing that we are going to help her anyway...) because, quite simply, her importance is going to be much smaller then in Worm
At least for me, I voted to help her not because she's important, but because the Avatar does not half-ass things. If we do it at all, we do it right, and we already started.

Votes are counted by a program that only looks at your last voting post. Meaning you need to put everything you want there.

I'm not sure about focusing the social-fu with the local heroes on finding out and subtly disapproving of them using "child soldiers", when we could be having interesting socializations and taking the first steps to fixing some of their issues.

Looks all right.

Plus, there's the whole, y'know, attacking a charity fundraiser. Which as far as most people can tell, wasn't done for money or anything, but just an act of terrorism.
Taylor never gave it much thought in canon, but from the perspective of a lot of people, that's a pretty nasty Kick The Dog moment.
hay what other examples of super advanced materials, chemicals, technologies etc does the avatar possess the power to replicate or knowledge enough to get people started on building?

Eh, carbosteel and omni-metal are the main things. He's not really a tech guy - if you want to raise Earth-Bet's technological level overall, you want Techno-Paladin.
Still, omni-metal alone can make a significant difference.

You said the Avatat need a physical form because magic and God was limbo'd, right?
So after magic was unseal, why didn't he cut loose? Why can't he do that now? This world magic isn't in limbo, assuming that it's there

Well, here's the thing - it is absolutely in character for the Avatar to express disapproval over this fact. He has made his position abundantly clear over several updates. This is using that characterization in a productive fashion.

1)Who's to say that Earth Bet's magic isn't in limbo? Do you see a lot of elves, flying cities, and ancient mystical artifacts? :p
2)He can't get out of the avatar form and return to his full power. Or at least, he hasn't found a way so far. The story would be very different if he could - the Avatar may be in the same power range as an Endbringer, but a fully-powered god is in the same tier as Scion.

I see, so leaking, not fully unsealed.
Still, can we research a way out? We are already the second coming of Jesus for these people, why not take it a step further.

I'm pretty sure if he could do that without compromising his role as a hero, he'd have figured out a way by now.
True, but being in a different dimension may change things. Hell, sufficient analysis may reveal that 'Limbo' is just another dimension. Add that to the fact that we're in a setting where all the powers work off of dimensional fuckery, and it's entirely plausible for Avatar to learn how to do that.

It should be noted that the Avatar isn't telling the PRT about his true nature, and the number of people on his world who know what he really is is very, very small.
There's a reason for that. He selects whom he tells very carefully. Because if the knowledge was to get out... it would be possible for some people to use it with consequences best described as apocalyptic.
So, he's not going to be recruiting various Earth-Bet people to see if they can figure out a way to unlock his full power. He's already got some very smart people studying the question back home, and hopefully, what his allies are doing there will suffice.

Is it possible for Avatar to sense the...presence, of a local planet's Pantheon? The follow up question obviously being if yes, can he sense one on Earth Bet?

Not across other dimensions and planes. He's not feeling one right now, but he wasn't feeling the rest of the Pantheon while they were in Limbo and he was on Earth, either.
That said, when he actually encounters a god or something related to it, he can tell.

I suspect Avatar will be a mix of utterly horrified at how powers are gained and proud of those that devote themselves to heroism despite it.
