Would you Distort or manifest EGO?

A hitch in your breathing reminds you of your limits, but you ignore it. You are a thing beyond humanity, to which the laws that govern all existence are merely a suggestion. A ruler among rulers whose authority is absolute. You refuse to entertain the idea that something so small is beyond you. That you cannot comfort your children when they need it.
I love X so much, you have no idea.

"Of course. I shouldn't have worried like that when you're looking out for me, X. For all of us." Mami says. Kyoko is quick to reassure her, followed by the others. That assurance is soon turned to Sayaka, and so on. You sit back and allow the children to exchange encouragements. The worst is over, and without disaster. All that is left now is everything else.

Where's the tragedy? There was supposed to be a soul shattering tragedy! :V

Mitakihara is mostly empty at this time in the early evening, at least this part. It's a bit odd, considering the number of attractions and stores not too far away, but it is a rather large city. You'll poke around to investigate, but it's not worth going to full alert about just yet.

So, how many corpses are just out of sight? :V

Scornful pride hiding an intense, threadbare anxiety that can only exist in someone whose system has been constantly shot with adrenaline for far longer than is healthy. And further beneath, a desperate longing more ravenous than anything you've seen in a human since your time in the City.

Let's see, incredible pride, extremely anxious, and longing for something... someone already proposed Burrowing heaven, but I am wondering White Night (that requires him to be far less sure of him than he appears, but hey, could be). If it is him, I hope he's in Plague Doctor form, asking *how do you do, fellow human?*

I love X so much, you have no idea.

So hope she will embrace her nature, her fears are unfunded IMO, she won't stop being her, the main problem right now is her effect on the environment, not her mind.

Homura rather than Kyouko because we haven't really had any alone time with just her recently.

I see Abno X as "I will control everything in my realm to make people and stuff better in my view even if they don't want it" and I don't like that, and abnos are EGO death anyway

Except X isn't that, that's White night, and I don't see how Abno is EGO death when you are the abno in the first place, and the abno is you.

I wouldn't consider it ego death, but Abnos, especially ALEPHS are extremely dangerous creatures even when well intentioned. Furthermore, although they are expressions of humanity, their "humanity" itself is far too pure and singular, they are story book characters from the collective concussions brought to life.

Not to mention thoughts like, "the laws that govern all existence are merely a suggestion" is as big a crazy flag as you can get, it doesn't matter that X can back that up, in fact that probably makes it worse.

Abnos are dangerous, X is dangerous, this does not diminish her humanity, nor the love she feels for her children, but it is something to be wary of. remember White Night talked of salvation.

Already had that conversation made my point quite clear, I do not consider being human a desirable outcome in any way, and would jump on the occasion to chant the glory of our AIs overlords if they actually conquered us.

Okay? I'm not talking about being human being a desirable state of being, Abnos are arguably human anyways.
I'm saying X needs to be more cognizant of the potential world ending danger she presents, even if she's well intentioned.

I think the biggest problem about losing her humanity is less that the Abnormality she becomes shall be evil, and more that she'll lose the capability to change. If she discovers a negative facet of her abnormality nature after going full abno, she won't be able to change to account for that facet or hold it back as well. Or if she's put in a situation where in what would normally be considered nuetral or even beneficial trait have a negative impact, she wouldn't be able to adapt to this new scenario.

For example, Currently, she treats Mami and Yuma like her children, like they are young, which is appropriate. But eventually they will grow up, and they may change. Would she be able to treat them as adults when they get to that point? Does she have the context on how to treat adults who are close to her that aren't her co-workers? Would she as an abnormality be able to develop that social dynamic properly?

I do not doubt she would be benevolent as a abnormality, I just worry if she'll be able to properly interact and maintain social relationships once she becomes a full abnormality. This is, of course, ignoring the physical ramification of going full abnormality.

Who knows, maybe what remains of the human part of her will develop EGO or something and allow for a sort of 'gestalt' being situation where the EGO blunts the negative impacts of the abnormality self, in both the physical and social respects.

Probably not.

Unless Angela lost more Abnormalities.

Abnos are arguably human anyway.
Human enough for the Head lol.

As for the vote, I'm gonna go against the flow here for a bit.

I'd rather have Kyoko talk to her sister about this and stay with her. Yuma is nice, but both is better.

The girls will probably have a bedroom discussion once X leaves so I think I want that particular side story to have everyone there.

What I mean by ego death is: You are losing reality and arguably your morality (EGO) for instinct of abnormalities (ID) and to follow a set rules and never break them (Super EGO)
You are giving up on your existence as a realistic changeable human being to become a god but can not change anything about yourself, this god might want humanity to be good or be better in her eyes, but once humanity has reached that better, they cannot grow anymore because in her eyes, the better will not change.
so, once humanity have reached that better, their wings to fly even higher will be clipped and relegated...

And there is similarity between whitenight and X, a Prophet who comes to save people, Gathering worshipers around her, giving out mercy and healing The wounds of the wounded, she is remarkably similar to the plague doctor... The only difference right now is one is actively wanting worship. The other, us, is not.
We even have a doomsday clock of our own, our health.

From what we have seen, Abno X has a completely different thought process than X. X has stated before that they had the desire to completely overwrite a person's personality while under the influence of DotSaM.
It is also shown when X thinks
You are a thing beyond humanity, to which the laws that govern all existence are merely a suggestion. A ruler among rulers whose authority is absolute.
That is the DotSaM leaking through X's failing shell. X isn't arrogant enough to think that.

We got a good look at her abnos thinking process during the fight with Nothing There, and it wasn't different to normal, having some intrusive thoughts is not that strange, the problem would be if she acted on it, which she strongly showed she isn't going to even when free of her shell.

And thinking that she is condemned to be an horrible tyrant is just pessimism, X is one of the pessimists there, and we need to beat that pessimism out of her.

It's no in DotSaM's color, so, it isn't a thought leaking, we have explicit indications of when that happens, and this is not one such case.

That's all X, she absolutely can think that, she just did, in fact.

Admittedly the incubator exposure was probably because of how their bodies are interlinked, it doesn't necessarily imply a galaxy-wide range. Now if we start seeing Milky Way Exposure I...

AW cmon people. Let Kyoko stay with her sisters and everyone else!

No need to immediately drag her to work after we just dropped such a bomb on everyone! We can just ask Argalia to help us out on this one.

There's definitely a difference between pessimism and caution, with me probably being more on the pessimistic side; But I think when a undiluted byproduct of humanity barely held back by it's own desire to not hurt people, starts having thoughts about how they'll reshape reality to their will, you better start being cautious.

And yes, intrusive thoughts are normal, but when a person's thoughts can reshape the minds of those around them and alter reality... Well, those intrusive thoughts become a bit dangerous.

X can be arrogant all she want's, but honestly, Isn't that just more red flags?

Listen, being cautious and speculative about DoSaM's nature is all nice and good and all, but practically, we aren't touching that form with an Apocalypse Bird-sized stick again unless forced to, so it doesn't really matter.

Anyhow! Vote for Argalia! Let Kyoko spend some time with Mami!

This is the perfect chance for Kyoko to have a bonding experience and try to talk with Mami about what it means to be a creature like a Witch.

Taking Kyoko away just because we want to 'depend' on her is just dumb when we need her to stay around for her friends and family to depend on for real!

You know what, okay. I didn't even think about Argalia, and besides, I give about 30% odds that this is Oz specifically trying to draw X out. It would be pretty disastrous if X got kidnapped on Kyoko's watch, or something like that.
