@Durin

1. Can Diviner Choirs pre-emptively select targets for Domination by Telepath in the next phase?
2. Long-Term buffing of walls by Telekinetics possible?
3. Long-Term buffing by Biomancers OK?

@Durin
1. How big an impact would her null zone have on the Third Circle? -200 is a pretty big debuff after all.

But, yeah I'm leaning away from the plan now.

;) Avernus taught him his lesson last time :p
1. a significant amount

[X] Plan Summoning Takes Time
-[X] Harassment - Low while viable, None after. (Rotbart's judgement on the option to get the best kill ratio.)
-[X] Psykers
--[X] Tamia+1st Telepathy Choir to go on Counter Telepathy against Abomination Telepathy
--[X] 2nd Divination Choir to select Dominate Targets for later.
--[X] Xavier and Pyromancer Choir 1 and 2 to start frying enemy troops.
--[X] Telekinetic Choir 1 to counter enemy Telekinetic efforts to weaken the walls.
--[X] All others to rest/wait. (Primaris Executioner Forces, Lulana, Biomancer 1, 2; Daemonologists 1,2; Diviner 1, Telepath 2, Telekinetic 2, Sirens)

Updateedddd Plan. Longterm Biomancy and Wallbuffing can't be done, so save for the next phase.

[X] Plan Psyker Raid
-[X] Harassment - Low while viable, None after. (Rotbart's judgement on the option to get the best kill ratio.)
-[X] Psykers
--[X] Tamia+1st Telepathy Choir to go on Counter Telepathy against Abomination Telepathy.
--[X] Telekinetic Choir 1 to counter enemy efforts to weaken the walls.
--[X] 2nd Divination Choir to select Dominate Targets for later.
--[X] Xavier and Primaris Execution Force 1 will work together to raid the enemy.
--[X] If the enemy takes a morale check, the Sirens will attack their minds. Sirens will rest otherwise.
--[X] Trolls will prepare the ground between us and the Valinor forces.
--[X] All others to rest. (Lulana, Daemonologists 1,2; Diviner 1, Telepath 2, Ridcully)
-[X] Other
--[X] Electronic warfare to disrupt their sensors.
Trolls will still prepare ground but will do so without divination, 2nd Diviner Choir on Telepath marking, saving 2nd Pyromancy Choir for later, and Biomancers off for this turn.

TBH I'm wondering if we can take down the Sorcerer Choir summoning the 3rd Circle Angyl.

@Durin

How do you figure this force/plan would do in destroying the choir?

Heroes: Ridcully, Xavier, Lulana, Jacob, Jane, Aria
Strike Force: 3 Primaris Executioner Forces

Plan A: Teleport near Summoning Area. Enter and Annihlate Choir. Teleport Out.
Plan B: Teleport near Summoning Area. Sabotage Void Shields. Call in Deathstrikes. Teleport Out.

I think that it would have a very good chance of succeeding, a decent chance of killing one of your execution forces and some heroes and a small chance of killing most of your heroes and execution forces and still failing
The issue is that you are attacking the best defended location in the Abomination forces, which is also a clear target.

So... guys, do you think it's worth it?

Certainly getting flashbacks of that time we sent Xavvy to stop the ritual.

Looking at the Military Sheet:

Executioner Squads have an amazing *1863 skill multiplier. Otherwise they mostly have above-average stats, like having 20 Armor (But only 2.88 HP, prob cause there aren't many of them).
Psyker Regiments are okay. When they go Veteran and Elite they becoming going amazing.
The Abomination standard troops have horrible skill multipliers compared to us. *2.1 and *8 are the highest shown so far. We have *15 to *42.

Pretty sure Abomination is actually pretty good, that elite Guard level isn't it? They're just not ready for Avernus.

well it seems we have a transcendent psyker running around. interesting. I did a review thing of it like I did for the last gia omake. given it was made 1000% cannon we can actually infer some interesting stuff about the world from it.

Mr Petrikov, while your project is so far showing great success, the Board must caution you against growing overly attached to the subject. It is thought that since the death of your sorely missed wife you have been…associating your experiment with her.

While the board grieves for your loss, you must remember your position.

*evil megacorp noises* how dare the scientist treat the test tube baby like a person! it might grow up well adjusted or something!

In the end it had to stop however, because she was getting tired, so he picked her up with a big smile on his face. "You know kiddo I think every time you do this you get even better. You know that?"

She stuck her tongue out at him "Course I get better Simon, I'm awesome."

daww, their adorable. it'd be a shame if anything tragic happened during this backstory. Also it's nice to see a living weapon treated like a kid. honestly so many secret labs would not have been destroyed if they treated their human weapons like humans rather than weapons.

He seemed surprised that she didn't know as it took him a few seconds to respond. "It's a shuttle. Its going to take us up to a big ship that will take us to Helheim."

A shuttle.

Unbidden a squee emerged from her. They were going to be flying! She'd always wanted to fly!!

again, super adorable.

She gritted her teeth as she concentrated upon the mouse in front of her. It was hard, it didn't want to do what she wanted it to do and what she wanted to do was make it stronger, but she couldn't do it without crushing it and that feeling in her gut just wasn't going away. She just wanted to make it better like she could after she copied the turtle, so why was this so hard!

and able to copy a power that took our well equipped experts years. on her own, without even the psyker equivalent of a box of scraps.

She was thrust to the side as she heard Simon yell.

With disbelieving eyes, she turned and saw him lying on his back as she smelt the burning coming from him. She crawled to him as she felt him gasp and forced her power into him she could save him, she had to save him.

But, she couldn't. She wasn't fast enough his blood kept on spilling forth even as she tried to close the hole in his chest, and the meat things in him stopped working one after another.

He was dying.

She couldn't see she was blinded with tears as she felt a soft hand touch her face. Simon's hand brushing away the tears. He spoke to her through the blood bubbling through his mouth.

"Promise…you'll remember…I." He coughed.

"I love you Marcey!"

His hand fell lifeless to the floor as she sat there on her knees, not wanting to believe what she was seeing.

Nothing mattered, not the explosions or the screaming or the dying. Not even the approaching clanking foot steps of the monster behind her mattered.

Simon was dead.

and now this is a tragic backstory. Though it's well done, you can feel her confusion and anquish.

It was sent screaming back into the wall and before it could even react she was there, her bare fists ripping apart the adamantium body that could endure the most horrific impacts, but she cared not.

She cried tears of anger, until with a final shriek it died, the light fading from its red eyes as she obliterated its head with a final punch. Then her ears picked up movement and she was gone, already beating down another of these creatures, heedless of the weapons that scarred her body for she could repair herself within seconds.

All that mattered was killing them and kill them she did, they were as tin foil to her.

She shattered them over and over, breaking their bodies into shards, melting them into puddles with fires produced from her rage and sadness, crumpling them into balls with little more than a stray thought.

Doing things with her powers that she never even imagined were possible, acts that she missed completely in her fury to end these monsters that had taken him from her.

And then it was over. There were no more monsters to destroy. No more metal to bend, no more bonds to shatter. She walked in an exhausted daze, too tired to even cry, and fell to her knees before his body again.

she should have fallen here. her control was broken, she should have fallen and burned out. she didn't, that's odd. I also can't help but feel the AI's she killed are in a server wondering WTF just happened. They can't know that much about psykers.

"Indeed child, you are likely the last human on the planet. Your beasts to the Stars are destroyed. But, more than that you are powerful. As powerful as I if not more so…"

so ball park high beta to low alpha if I remember how strong siren queens are.

She felt a soft, yet strong hand place itself upon her shoulder and looked up to see the Siren next to her a strange expression upon her face. "Simon was a friend to me as well. He saved my life many years ago, back when I was a foolish prideful princess and he a young, kind researcher. I promised him that I would fulfil a promise to him one day."

She felt the hand turn her around to look the Siren in the eye. "A few days ago, he called in that favour. He was starting to grow old, and was afraid of metal creatures from the stars. He made me promise that I would care for someone that I would know should the worse happen to him and to give her this," into her hands was dropped a data crystal, useless without a reader, but a data crystal none the less.

huh, looks like the DAOT people cut a simlar deal with the sirens as we did. also interesting that he trusts her with his kid.

But, as she stood by the sea she stopped. She did not know how to swim or breath under water.

"You have twenty minutes. Adapt!" The Queen now rested within the water, watching her intently as she started to panic.

this is clearly not something she expects to be doable. that kind of alteration from scratch is hard as fuck. I expect that the intention is to see what she does and evaluate how close she comes.

It burned, but she persevered, grabbing the turtle and with her power forced its head away from herself as she started to examine it. She needed to learn how it stayed underwater. She saw the tight body of cells, the blood that absorbed oxygen, the muscles that stored it and started to adapt herself to that same standard. It was messy, it was sloppy, but she did it.

wow, that is an impressive level of bullshit, even by local standards.

"Worry not little one, you have impressed me greatly. For now, follow."

again, I suspect she did not expect success in such a short timeframe.

But, she kept coming back, because no matter how much it hurt…she wouldn't let him go.

Maybe all she could do was run away from him?

not the healthiest of mindsets, but hey coping is coping.

She had been in the city of the ocean for over twenty Helheim years now. She had learned so much that they had to teach, how to sing, how to dance, how to enthral. And she'd learned a lot from monsters around her things that the Sirens simply couldn't do. How to make her hands as sharp and piercing as the snout of a sword fish, how to internalise and use fire as the corral.

raised by sirens. heh. I wonder if she keeps in touch?

She was strong, but she felt it within her, the call to go out. To explore like Vlad in the stories she had read as a child. It was foolish, but she'd always declared to Simon that she'd be as great an explorer as Vlad himself one day and well…she had promised.

wanderlust. I expect she's not the sort to spend a lot of time in one place. which means I suspect she's never going to be one of "our" heroes. an ally, but never somone who sticks around.

She had resigned herself to another while spent failing to understand rune work, but a telepathic prod from Pajes, a Princess who had grown somewhat friendly with her distracted her. She wanted her to come because they'd found something "interesting."

oh we've all been there. some friend keeps texting us for some silly reason.

They communicated without words as was the way with of the Sirens as Pajes told her of a strange cave they found and that they could sense a strong presence within. Marcelee's eyes widened in sudden fear as she expanded her senses. She could feel it alright, the cave. But it wasn't a cave it was an entrance.

oh shit! a mid level just wanded into the endgame zone. The caverns are not something anyone sane wants to fuck with. (I stand by this statement despite the existence of cavern delvers)

She was moving fast, a mere streak in the water, but she wasn't fast enough. The creature, whatever it was, was catching up to her, so she made the decision to hurl Pajes forwards embewing her with as much momentum as possible as she sent out a general call for aid and turned to face her pursuer.

it's small stuff like this that shows that she is a good person despite being kind of a flake.

She breached the surface, air filling her lungs for the first time in at least five years, as she grasped the hard rocks and pulled herself free from the water and onto "dryer land." Staggering to her feet she started forwards and tripped catching herself cutting herself.

She wasn't underwater, no more 3D movement for her. Cursing herself as she healed her small cuts, before her instincts and divinations yelled at her, her hand crushing a spider under her palm. Steadying herself she grinned.

heh. i'm reminded of an interview of an astronaut who had just come down from the international space station, he lifted up a pen and dropped it in the air to pick up something else, he was surprised when it fell because he needed to get used to gravity again.

So, she fought back, she learned the tricks and powers of her enemies. It took study and coming close to death many times, but she could fight the Tigers on their own plain as well as they could, she could sculpt illusions like the Forest Dragons, she'd created a defence against the spiders, a barrier that they could teleport into if they wished to be sliced in half by a film of invisible force. In exchange she had taken their power and could now blink through the world a whirling dervish of death, her songs dancing around the forests her glaive cutting through the iron flesh of her enemies.

she has a trick to stop blink spiders, she has an AOE trick to stop blink spiders! that's huge. even if it's hard to maintain, it would be very useful. we have enofgh psykers we could afford to task some with keeping vital areas or VIP's safe in a field like that.

What new threats would it have for her? What new challenges to overcome?

again, she seems like the sort to love finding new and horrifying places. I wonder if she'll ask to tag along if we ever raid a demonworld. She'd probably enjoy that, or at least think she would before she saw the legions of downtrodden and dammed cultists.

"THIS CLASH, WAS FOUGHT WITH OUR SISTER, WHO WISHES FOR US TO END THE ATTACKS ON HER KIND! AS VICTOR HER WILL PREVAILS! UNTIL THEY ATTACK US AGAIN WE WILL NOT HARM THEM!"

As he finished his announcement she could hear the yells of outrage coming from the gathered Trolls, the humans had killed many of them after all. She placed a hand on Marbles knee to comfort him as he growled in distress.

"Get what they promised you. When they break their oath again I swear nothing will remain of them." She nodded "As is your right brother."

intresting. i'm surprised humans have lived this long. it's been well over 20 years. doubly so if they are dumb enofgh to pick a fight with the trolls. The guys we never did anything more aggressive than patrol against, and who we gladly made peace with as soon as it was an option on the table. Maybe they only went nuts recently?

"Back off. I did not ask you to get them to "back off" I wanted them exterminated!" She started to see red, but forced herself to remain calm.

"I wouldn't do that for anything, and even if I tried the World wouldn't allow it. It would destroy me and you before it let that happen." He sneered, derision pouring from every motion. "Well in that case, freak, I may have misplaced your little bauble."

huh, that's an odd way to ask somone to flay your soul and pull the info from you still screaming mind. but hey, apparently some people are into that.

She moved towards him, a deadly calm falling over her. "No, little man. No more altering the deal, no more of your snide crap. You are going to give me what I'm after and then I'm going to leave. If you don't well I suppose I'll have to find another way of getting it off you and then I kill every man, woman and child here."

yeah, the guy is not the Darth Vader in this particular cloud city.

She left without a backwards glace. She could tell what was going to happen, he was going to order an attack on the Trolls again, for some perceived slight or to raise moral and then they were going to die. Within the cave the Trolls were supreme, and the geomancers could simply collapse it upon their heads if needed.

good lord, they live in caves and picked a fight with the fucking stone walking trolls? are they legitimately trying to commit suicide by cop or something?

Despite herself she felt some small remorse at least for the children…but then she remembered what they had done to a small troll child they had captured. They were just as sick as the director.

Jesus, ok i'm betting on some sort of group insanity setting in. I mean imperials have mental health issues here, a softer people could easily just fucking snap. Honestly if this wasn't pre slanesh i'd expect chaos corruption.

"BIOMETRICS ACKNOWLEDGED, ACCESSING INFORMATION. BEGINNING PLAYBACK"

A hologram appeared above the reader, so realistic that to another it would have seemed solid. But her eyes were strong, and her mind was an expert at filtering out illusions, so despite the tears that started to percolate in her eyes she knew this was not Simon…

It was certainly a very distracted Simon.

... it took her how many years to get around to reading her fathers last message to her? marceline seems uniquly bad at focusing, and prone to letting shit slide for years or decades baring a time crunch. though it could be simply her having issues bringing herself to face this.

"I've been preparing to begin the project for a while now, all the psycic genes the Nilfar and Muspel can determine, along with a few of my own are ready for use, the lab has been prepared and I must say I don't know how the board even got this stuff. This is Luna made equipment higher than the shelf can't get this for love nor money…but well here you have it."

hmmm. somone with an intrest in psykers, and access to luna. holy shit, she's a prototype primarch. Or at least an offshoot of big E's early research. I wonder if anything of her design showed up in the final version? the primarchs where supposed to be super chaos resistant, and marceline seems to be near immune. I wonder if her genome would help with gene seeds any?

"Finally, I've prepared the…secret ingredients…first the psycic genes of several different Helheim species."

Marcelee's mouth fell open. Helheim species…but…

She refocused her attention upon Simon who was still muttering to himself.

"Over the course of my research I've noticed that Avernite species seem to never suffer from the same instability as the humans who've exhibited similar abilities. I have hope that should I be able to correctly integrate them, like was done with the Navigators and Nilfar a more stable psyker should be born."

interesting. nillfiam was the site of some sort of psyekr research. I can see how trying to make psykers more stable would result in blanks. also now we know why she didn't fall. she's got some of the local color in her genes.

"She died…fairly recently. We had been talking about having children at long last and had samples taken to…get the ball rolling. After she died I just didn't, but now."

He walked towards the central test tube and placed his hand on it. "I'm going to use her sample to create the psyker…Someone to carry on her legacy…someone for whom she can be proud off."

it's rare to see somone win best dad post humorously. Goddammit, the main breakthrough that came from this for the primarch project was that you needed to be a good dad. If only the men of iron had rebelled a decade later, if the project had finished the emperor may have known to take some parenting workshops.

"The modifications run deep. Even before the psycic abilities she would still be amazing, her mind sharper, her body and reflexes better. Her life span I'm very proud off, she'll live a very very long time indeed. Anyway,"

makes sense. you don't know exactly what kind of stress psyker powers place on the body. so optimize everything.

g. "First and most obvious, a slight greying of the skin, nothing some planets don't have naturally of course. Second a sharpening of the teeth. Third her Irises have turned a red colour and finally her ears have pointed a characteristic shared by a surprising number of Helheim creatures…"

appernatly she's a expy of somone, but eh, she stands on her own even if she was based on somone else and looks like them.

"She's so enthusiastic, though I have to admit watching her play with her abilities can be quite a spectacle. She set her entire bed room on fire not a few days ago." His face falls into a frown, one of concern. "Her tantrums are things of legend."

Simon was a scientist with no extraordinary combat skills or powers. he was still patient and brave enofgh to raise what sounds like a beta or alpha class psyker without getting fried. parent of the age.

"Marcey, this message is for you." Her eyes widened as she looked at him, a hot light feeling in her gut as she leaned forward, body alight with anticipation. "I know I haven't told you everything. I wanted you to grow up as normally as I could manage. I wanted you to grow up happy and safe…but it seems reality conspires against us all. You have the best chance of surviving out of everyone here. If I don't make it I want, you to go to the coast and yell out Kshanjasadma as loud as you can both physically and telepathically."

The Queen, Simon really had known her... "She's a devious piece of work at times, but not cruel and I begged her to take you in just in case…well you know."

The recording shook, and Simon cursed before looking wildly back at the recorder. "Marcelee no matter what happens I beg of you live for yourself and remember! I love you!"

odd. he gave the crystal but not a reader to the person the crystal said to contact. maybe he never got around to giving it to Marcelee? and they just found it on his body with a note or something.

She didn't want to think on this and, so she strode from the cave. She would just have to keep herself occupied, she picked a direction at random and started to run northwards, dodging creatures and plants, leaping over dens and gullies until at last she found herself a new cave and fell into a peaceful slumber.

She woke the next morning and found distraction very quickly as the cave had been surrounded by angry pine trees, desperate for retaliation.

here we see both Marcelee still having issues facing her issues, and a reminder where she is when a forest tries to pick a fight with her.

Her plan was working. The large army of hairy, smelly, enormous and impotently angry Mongs all worked together to gather their power to crush her like a tick tack ant as she rested taunting them from the safety of the sea as. She could feel it whistling through the air, an icy chill permeating the ground as above their heads a massive.

Titanic.

Iceberg formed.

Perfect for her plan.

She'd been studying the Bullymongs for a while know and had determined that they were her best shot at getting across the sea to the pole of the world. Just had to get them to throw their giant ice berg in the right direction, hop aboard and then use her powers to sail across, no getting attacked by strange power sucking fish, or bizarrely hungry seals…

I can't help but feel if she was in a AGG type quest this plan would be immediately proceeded by a lot of failed checks.

She immediately regretted it as an ice worm creature emerged from the ice and plunged its fangs into her hand, filling it with poison that turned it into ice.

welcome to the poles. tough I wonder what it eats if it turns it's prey into ice? proably a psychic thing.

It was a bear, towering over her its eyes saying nothing, its teeth bared in a hideous snarl. But that wasn't what scared her. It was its aura a feeling of numbness, of nothingness. Of drowning in agony. Only one other time had she felt like this, she still remembered it. Simon had brought a strange white man to her and he had hurt her just standing in the room. She'd never forgotten that day and this was infinitely worse.

interesting. they were able to scare up a blank to poke her with. probably tied to that world with the hard to spell name that has a bunch of weak ones. Sometimes I supect that people view Avernus as the weird planet because we don't bother hiding it. I also wonder what the point of blank bears are? they don't seem to be a weapon and I suspect a blank causes issues for a planet that manages things psychically. Maybe they are there so the local garden species has to keep it's anti-blank skills sharp?

A black and white, rather rotund bird with flippers instead of wings that was as tall as she was standing if not more so, bedecked with psychic enhancing jewels that boiled with power, intricate designs and tattoos covering its feathers and beak with a strange crown like tuft of yellow feathers that gazed at her with bright intelligent eyes.

I know that he's a psyker of immense potency, and entrusted with a bloody and vital duty, but he's also an adorable penguin. I am conflicted.

"Now then Marcelee, what are you?" She blinked and looked quizzically at him "I'm a human, isn't that obvious?" She knew it wasn't quite true, but it was true enough wasn't it. When Gunter shook his head, it seemed not for him. "You're human the same way I'm a normal Warden, both of us belong to the same species, but neither of us are what one might call a normal example of either. I am Emperor, comparing me to a King or a Royal, never mind a Common is simply inaccurate."

interesting. sounds like they have a lot of more powerful psykers than their gamma level base.

"Marcelee, my people are Guardians and I especially am the result of an eons long eugenics programme, we know what life essence is even if we call them different things." She chuckled awkwardly and shook her head. Assumptions really were going to get her killed one day.

"Sorry, its just I've been used to interacting with People and well…"

coming from a tech level 25 society can make it hard to talk to people from a tech level 10 society. I also wonder if the penguins mange their own breeding program? or only think they do and the world mind think's it's cute that they think that? a bio-weapon that can do it's own maintenance and eugenics would be quite useful.

He raised himself up and waddled towards a wall, a window opening to look out. "It was a smart thing your father did, dangerous, but smart. If he hadn't I'd wager you'd have fallen to a dissonance by now."

interesting. dissonance is an usual word for chaos. it has some implications of how they see the world that they chose that word for their greatest foe.

"Yes, that you survived the awakening of one vast ones is a miracle in and of itself. Your will is very impressive as is your luck." They fell into silence and she walked over to the newly formed window gazing at out at the city beyond.

I fell that the underlined may be a typo. it's also interesting that they see to keep fairly well informed on the warp. which makes sense given their job.

Even more so than his son the Emperor radiated an aura of power, indeed in all ways he was just more. He was taller than his son, the runes and crests upon him more detailed and intricate. What was different though was his crest, instead of a crest shaped like a crown it was a crown that she could not understand. It slipped through her senses when she attempted to glean its purpose.

hmmm, the Black crystal crown? or just an impossible potent artifact?

Instead what it did was nod to her. "Greetings Marcelee, last scion of man upon our fair world."

She started. "Last? Do you…" It nodded again a melancholy filling his frame. "Yes, you are the last of your kin at least upon this world. The others died several hundred years ago now. It is unfortunate if unsurprising, except for yourself your kind is not ready for the crucible of this world."

this does let us ball park her age. since we know the last human enclave she found was when she was fairly young. so she's probably less than 500 years old right now.

Looking her straight in the eyes he clapped a flipper, a penguin wearing pristine armour stepping from the crowd of courtiers, its appearance like Gunter if not for the fact that its crown growth was smaller than his. "AeleaweinWARKwarien, do you think she will do?"

the world shakingly powerful psykers remain adorable. this may be a diplomacy issue in the future if the diplomats we send have poor poker faces.

"Very well I accept." Her fast acceptance led to the King blinking, before shaking his head.

"That was just a joke, young one, I personally suggest you…"

He trailed off as a burst of something came from Gunter and the king coughed. "Anyway, rooms have been assigned to you in the east wing of the palace. If you would like a guide?" She shook her head standing bowing before employing her power to find the room that she had been assigned.

I notice marceline has a habit of taking serious things like this. first the 20 minutes to make gills test, then accepting a joking offer to pay for her services with room and board.

She felt his form move in a manner reminiscent of a shrug. "We are Guardians, we are informed of things like this as a matter of course, even if it is not especially relevant to us. It's just something that we should be aware of just in case."

interesting. It sounds like the Guardians are kept fairly in the loop by the planet-mind. I wonder if it's visions, or some other dramatic method, or just the psyker equivalent a business phone call?

And yet she was still winning. Though their powers were among the strongest she had ever seen, in fact often they were far more powerful than she could accurately comprehend she was still able to win as soon as she closed.

I suspect this is at least partially a form factor thing. penguins are not going to be able to fight well in melee with their body shape. I wonder if we could sell them murder servitors or something in the future? a disposable melee line might be of use to them in their duties.

She was pretty much their worst nightmare, she could teleport, phase and move like lightning and if she got amongst them then they were in trouble.

amusingly, that makes her slipperier than most greater demons. only a lord of change would be a good enofgh scorer to have a bag of ticks that deep, and they would much rather stay back and blast.

A smug clucking came on the edge of her vision and she saw a very satisfied looking Gunter gazing at her. "Oh no no Marcelee I've finally wizened up. That bag won't open until I do it and to make me do it you need." She hissed in anger "To say." Her teeth started grinding in irritation. "my name!"

She let out an irritated breath before standing straight upright and looking at him. "GunteralawsiorgalorgWHAK WHAKslainda." She only stumbled once or twice.

Daww, she made a friend.

A radiant smile burst out on Gunter's face and with that the bag opened and she dove into the delicious fish within. Officially this was part of her payment for providing battle exercises against an abnormal foe, but they probably would have fed her anyway. Her real payment was in them teaching her. Correcting imperfections in her techniques, new powers and most importantly anti disjunction powers. Those had been satisfying to get her hands on.

confirmation she was trained by the penguins. Though it's odd she hates chaos given she hasn't met it yet. a side effect of the genes?

Gunter reacted as soon as he saw what had landed upon her a psycic scream going forth from him as he dove towards the palace and she ran after him looking up as the sky turned red as a storm of blood was unleashed.

ah, her first incursion.

Then she felt it. Even stronger than An'ggrath even stronger than the Flock of the Emperor.

As she fell into unconsciousness after three months of war, the last thing she heard was the screams of An'ggrath.

i'm like 90% sure An'ggrath is supposed to be immune to psychic powers. so this is double impressive, and frankly her suviving the splash from a world serpent strike is one of the more impressive things our local pocket primarch has done.

She could feel the call of wanderlust in her veins, the desire that drove her from the sunken kingdom of the Sirens calling once again.

yeah, this seems to be her pattern. stay a while then wonder off again. I do wonder if she ever checks back on any of the places she's called home.

"You do know I know what you're going to say right?" His amused voice broke her reverie as she glared at him before her face broke into a rueful grin.

"Yeah, but I wanted to be the one to say it you know."

She considered herself good with words, but in the end, all she found herself able to say was this. "I'll always remember you, you know that?"

He nodded and waddled forwards placing his flippers on her shoulders. "Promise me this then: kill as many of the disjunctions that we let through as you can." He stopped to extrude a smile. "If you agree then I'll give you a present!"

She punched him lightly on the shoulder before nodding "I swear to kill as many of the bastards as I can." She shivered as the oath wrapped around her.

I feel he's being both a friend and a king right now. He's seeing somone who would fight incursions anyways is officially on the roster, in a way that has no risk of her flaking out on. not that she would do it intentionally, but she has focus issues and I could see her not noticing if she was losing herself in something. He's also giving a good friend a parting gift.

"Some of the best on Helheim in fact. They know techniques that even Guardians such as I respect them, which is why their power is so strong despite their comparatively small size." He paused gathering his thoughts.

"I have been in contact with their Matriarch and have impressed upon her my request. A replacement weapon for you commissioned from their finest smith. I hear she is quite something." She smiled and turned.

and the gift is something to help her kill demons. dudes being a good friend and a good king at the same time. props.

"Excuse me what did you say?" She was confused what did she mean kept her waiting. The Siren rolled her eyes swimming around her examining her. "What did you think I'd just create a weapon without the recipient being here? That's not how it works, but you took so long getting here I thought you just forgot!"

Spinning in the water Marcelee turned and then sighed. It was true she had taken her time getting here. She'd just felt that there hadn't been any rush…and she'd kept getting distracted by cool things.

she's flakier than a pastry. honestly, if she wasn't ageless she'd probably have died of old age before getting anything done. I suspect without people around her she has no real sense for how much time is passing.

"Yes, I can…but I'm going to need somethings." She pointed at her pouch and clicked her fingers. "The pearl and the crystal, hand them over."

Marcelee's eyes widened, and she swam backwards placing her hand over her pouch. "Oh no. No, I'll give you the pearl, but the crystal is non-negotiable." The mere idea that she would give up the last thing she had of Simon was ridiculous.

and her issues letting go come to a head. because psychic bullshit. which honestly makes sense and is rather fitting.

"I require the talon of a Roc, a mighty bird that lives to the far east, in a place of screaming winds. It should take you quite a while to bring back the Talon. Take the time you need to think on what is more important, useless memories that bring nothing or a weapon that you truly need."

i'm sure this will be a simple monster hunt, with no emotional growth or important soul searching required.

According to them the Roc was invulnerable to any attack from a creature that was bound to the land. In other words, it was conceptually invulnerable to creatures that couldn't fly, merely being off the ground wasn't enough it had to have the ability to fly under its own power.

Wow that's nasty. if we ever encounter them they are going to be a nightmare. we're going to need some conceptuall weirdness to fight them off. since it looks like aircraft wouldn't work unless they where autonomous. Maybe mount a small flying gun drone on a fighter craft and have pilots give i a shot or something?

This massive advantage was apparently offset by the fact that the biggest predator in the area could fly and the slow breeding rate of the Roc, about one egg every few hundred seasons and longer for that egg to mature and the hatchling to grow.

the planet mind knows how broken that is. So it takes steps to keep them from being an issue. though if we could steal that power... something to look forward to.

She started to follow the chain, tracing it backwards for what might have been days or minutes she couldn't rightly say. It didn't matter compared to what she found at the end of the chain.

Simon.

just as planned!

He embraced her again laying a soft kiss upon her brow "I know it hurts, but you have to let go. To take what you can into the future and leave when hurts behind where it belongs. In the past."

She shuddered and at last…nodded.

With her resolution the chains shattered away leaving behind only a ribbon of red material wrapped around them as Simon smiled at her.

One last time.

daww, it looks like she's finally ready to really move byond her fathers death.

Diving down from on high she shot towards the city telling them that she was enroot seconds before she appeared. Her impact displaced a large amount of water as she giggled watching the city freak out at her sudden appearance. Childish certainly, but oh so satisfying.

I suspect she's still a little miffed about being given the runaround.

"The Ancient Ones made this place." Sropjazash had stripped away her scale mail, donning some simple cloths imbued with runes of heat resistance. "They gave it to our ancestors, to study, to use. I have advanced our people's crafts more than any other and know what I do here will cost me a great deal."

fascinating, another place where the old ones touched this world directly. I wonder what she charged for this weapon? because it looks like it cost her quite a few years of her life.

"Well… I trust that satisfies you?" She nodded and swung the axe through the water. It was perfect. The only way it could be more perfect was if she knew how to use an axe. She'd never been trained with them as they were not Siren weapons.

bitt odd that her soul weapon would be something she has no idea how to use, probably a metaphor or something. psychic bullshit can be weird.

Soon enough she touched down on the other continent, deflecting the hail of spines and poisonous bile that was thrown her way by some strange frilled lizard. Quite a friendly greeting compared to some places she'd been too.

She started to jog into the rain forest dodging the harpoon like tongues that fired at her from the boughs of the trees.

interesting. purely psychical projectiles. given the local weapons are martial skill focused I wonder if that's this regions purpose? physical prowess and might rather than more exotic forms of combat? some times you need somone who can run up and stab psi jammers.

Grinning she reached out with her power and generated a blast that forced the two away from each other before they could resume fighting and blinked to the Saurian grabbing it and fleeing. She'd been searching this jungle for…well it was hard to say, there were no seasons here. An extremely long time.

probably a few decades at last given her issues with time. also again, it looks like a purely physical fight.

But, she'd never found them, only the remnants of battles fought between them and the Beast Masters a fact that never ceased to irritate her.

sounds like they are testing warrior type constructs against beast type constructs.

Thus, her days fell into a simple, basic pattern. Wake up before dawn as was her habit fly her way over the clearing and get beaten half to death by her Saurian instructor. No matter what she did she was never quite strong enough to beat him, he was always just that little bit more skilled and as she improved he seemed to stop holding back his own skills.

well that's a training method. spend a few years losing spars until you stop sucking.

What she landed upon was a boulder covered in moss, a boulder that was glowing with some kind of protection. She did not know what was under the rock, but she did know that the chuckling, burbling creature hammering the rock with a massive rotten blade was what was causing the call for aid.

there is a nonzero chance the rock is what's calling for help. because the unofficial motto is "this fucking planet."

"Excellent, excellent. Just as he foretold. Welcome Marcelee. Have you come to here word of Papa Nurgle?"

if by hear he means throw, and by word of he means fire at then yes. also wrong hear.

At that it stopped and looked upwards with horror before screaming. "THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, ALL YOUR FAULT I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRUSTED YOUR WORDS YOU TRECHEROUS LEECH KAIROSSSS!"

wait, Kairos? one of the least trustworthy demons of the god diametrically opposed to nurgle told this guy this was a good idea, and he did it? goddammit, I think Marceline just upped the average intelligence of Nurgl's demons by a non trial amount.

Looking upon it was like seeing the end of the world, of the universe give full form. There was no sound around it, only silence. No birds, no beasts. Only trees and the wind.

The Beast of the Apocalypse, the last resort of Helheim. The End of the World.

She slid back down the mountain as fast as she could not look back, in fear of what might happen if she did, fear driving her onwards even as her mind told her she was being foolish.

But, that creature…that great one. It was beyond what she had ever imagined.

So, she did something she'd never done before.

She fled with no intention of returning.

that is some bad juju. we are never going to so much as poke that thing. I wonder if that's the forbidden zone? or if the forbidden zone is another WMD? honestly sometimes it feels more like we are living in an old one ICBM silo more than a weapons lab.

Vladimir Tepes, dressed in the Black Regalia that he would give to the president of Helheim far in the past to her, but in the future to him. His hunting rifle was pointed straight at her head, finger on the trigger ready to fire, while strapped to his side was the pistol and the sword, both ready for him to use at the slightest provocation.

thats... is that the first vlad or somone named after him? or just one of our descendants going on a trip.

"Told to be here, said a Marcelee would be here." His voice was soft, short and clipped, but she could tell he was alert. Constantly scanning for danger much like she was.

one of our descendants. that's an avanite trait right there.

His face contorted into what she thought was his version of a smile, but it was gone shortly afterwards looking around nervously. She nodded "Yeah best I not tell you too much." He nodded in agreement and took a silver wristband from his arm and handed it to her.

that's the face of a man looking at a possible time paradox, and slowly backing away. Reminds me of a story where somone tried set up time loops where outside information would be needed to close the loop as an Intel tool, and he got a message from his future self saying "don't fuck with time."

"My Clavis. Has all my data codes. I'll tell them I lost it or it was destroyed and they won't bother to delete them. Too many to bother especially when I'm leaving soon. Don't know why you'd need it, but, well" he tapped the crown upon his head before clamped it upon her wrist "I've learned to trust the voice of the Planet."

interesting. at some point we're going to be important enofgh for the plantmind to talk to us. I suspect it'll mostly be asking us to act as off-world hands because that's just about the one big thing we can do that no other species can.

"Touching, but this isn't why I am here."
"Kill her, kill her now, while there's still time."

Every Tzar was frozen, ice coursing up around them surrounding their bodies even as they pushed their flames outwards, flaring them in defiance of the cold, assuming their combat form even as they were devoured.

She turned around and saw it, a presence that made her heart grow sick from its malign power, hidden from her senses until that moment, the very ground twisting into unnatural shapes and forms from its presence.

and now Kairos shows up to finish the job. so we've seen 1 out of 4 incursions. we're still due one from the star father, that's something to look forward to.

It shook its heads at her 360 degrees and motioned for her to sit down again.

"Won't work. Whoever built this place gave it rules, I can't break them, no one can."
"Must be a way, must be a way always a hole, always a loop hole! We know them all!"

Glaring at the demon Marcelee finally took her seat across from the creature. It would have made for a rather strange scene, she was dwarfed by the creature after all.

well now that's interesting. the ultimate neutral meeting ground. why would the old ones make that I wonder? what devil where they intending to sup with to need a spoon that long?

"I am Kairos, the Oracle of Tzeench!"
"I am Nobody important!"

I thought one head was supposed to lie :V

Kairos. That name was familiar. She looked up in shock. "You're the one the Great Unclean One was cursing all those years ago."

it bears repeating, I still can't believe he fell for it.

"Oh yes, he humiliated his papa and that couldn't go unpunished. Ah to go so high and fall so low so fast."

probably more for believing bloody kaross than simply losing.

"My lord has ordered your death. Too many potential plans destroyed if you're allowed to live.
"Disruptive, disruptive."

huh, I wonder what plans she's going to disrupt stuck on one out of the way world? maybe she's going to end up bumming a ride off us and heading out to see the galaxy, meet interesting new people, and kill demon in their own homes?

"Thus, this room and a fair game. Fifty fifty."
"Fair is fair?"

A CHILDREN'S CARD GAME! it's time to duel!

"Guess which speaks truth and you'll be free to go. I'll even give you a question to ask me."
"We know all that will be, we must!"

"If you guess wrong then I kill you and you cannot resist!"
"Weak and helpless like a child."

oh, or that. missed opportunity man. also fucking with people playing that exact game is literally what this assholes whole shtick is. It's not quite rigged, but it's like letting a chess master settle a dispute with a boxer over a game of chess.

Marcelee looked at the demon and frowned. On the surface it was a fair game, she picks one head and it had an equal chance of being the correct head. But, this was a disjunction she wouldn't trust it as far as she could throw it, even if that was a long way.

She began to ask it questions, each head giving a contradictory answer, both of which seemed just as likely. It was only when she asked out of irritation whether or not it could actually tell the future and one answered no the other yes that she started to realise how rigged the game was.

yep. he plays this game all day everyday.

Oh, she was such a fool. It was a cheating wretch, but she was a fool for letting it trick her.

"You, sneaky little shit. That's how you're doing it!"

holy shit she figured it out.

"Sure, I'll choose my words, both your heads speak the Truth. You can see all the possible threads of the future something not even a god can do, but you can't force them to go your way. You don't lie about any futures, you just tell people what the most likely and least likely ones are. Either way you are right."

that's interesting. Very much in the spirit of his god.

"What were the odds. I picked this exercise precisely because the odds of you beating me here were so small. I suppose fate is a cruel mistress after all."

there is no prophecy at all that would help when the other guy rolls a 100.

"Your actions this day have brought me much pain Marcelee. I may not be able to harm you, but there are other ways of making you suffer!"

and a reminder that demons are petty little shits.

She could feel no flame in them, they were dead. Killed in the most horrible way they could imagine, the ice having worked its way into their cores and spread through them like the roots of a tree, forced into them by the malign will of a cruel and horrific intelligence.

She screamed to the heavens, a storm forming from her anger and grief as she carved out their cores. They would be given to their people so that they maybe treated with the honour they deserved.

asshole.

Slowly she felt something grow within her. A realisation. A maturing…or had it been in her all along.

When she opened her eyes, she didn't feel the same urge to run off as she had.

sounds like she spent a while meditating in the void to finish growing up.

She sighed as she landed lightly upon the tree she had taken off from. It was quite a bit taller now.

ok she spent a few decades or centuries mediating in the void. she just has no feel for the passing of time at all does she?

The cloudhoofs were whimpering and neighing around her as she collapsed to the ground the wave of hatred and order crashing into her mind. It was overwhelming. It demanded her respect her control. She was to be hated and she was to like it. To be subservient to it for all time, to devote herself in eternal praise to it. That was the demands that slammed into her mind unfocused, but oh so powerful.

The difference was she was not the young girl who had nearly been overwhelmed by the awakening of a Grand Disjunction. She was older, wiser and had a hatred for it and all its kind that could not be expressed in the words of mortals or immortals. She threw it back, standing to her feet even as the golden wave reverberated around her, pushing back at it. Shielding all that she could until finally it was over, a scream of loss and hurt the last thing to push itself over her senses.

She stood strong in the steps in defiance of the night.

and we are now post start of the quest.

These creatures were strange.

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!"

They charged her like they couldn't tell she was more dangerous than they were. The creature in question was obviously sapient and looked a little bit like a more thuggish, muscular and flightless Orcwing.

oh she's met the orcs. they seem to have weirded her out.

It was perhaps indicative of far too much that when the next disjunction made its appearance she was not even shocked. She just reached for her axe and readied herself.

The day of pink skies, our first incursion and the worlds fourth.

"I am Ail'Slath'Sleresh, Keeper of Craftworld Kher-Ys and I have selected you to be my bride."

I looked this guy up. apparently that worked the last time he tried it. He destroyed a craft-world by seducing the daughter of the craft-worlds gatekeeper. course Marcelein is not a hormonal eldar youth. So this time it ends poorly for him.

And thus, Slaanesh roared and raged at the injuries it took upon the Hellworld of Helheim and when it pulled back to nurse its wounds Marcelee was almost disappointed. She had much more pain to give.

she's come a long way from struggling in the presence of an exalted demon. Though I suspect that mr date rape was poorly specked for this fight. he was a seducer and a corrupter against somone who's near immune to that sort of bullshit.

She blinked up to a side gate of the city, Storms End it whispered to her. Upon her wrist the Clavis activated, the long-forgotten codes of Vlad the Explorer granting her access. He was as good as his word, they never had bothered to change them, but they were still recognised by the systems after all this time. It was remarkable, both the laziness of the technicians and the sheer depth to which Vlad had access.

yeah, the original vlad would not have had good codes to give. this guy cna't have been from too far in the future, unless he gave her a clavis full of old codes. Which is possible. also do we have clavis tech? they are decently high end DAoT tech, being essentially super secure pip boys.

She knew in her heart of hearts that it was no choice, but the world. Ah the world made it a choice. Helheim was many things, but it was no tyrant. It was cruel and kind in equal measure. It gave her a choice even when it knew she had already made a choice. Or maybe it didn't know that she would come to her resolution?

daww, she's come a long way. it'll be interesting to meet her in quest. I wonder if we could get her to help foster one of our alphas? she also may want to go on some off-world tripe, which would be kind of terrifying for any trust world she visited. but a working vacation to a not fully taken world would be a mutually beneficial deal.

... it took her how many years to get around to reading her fathers last message to her? marceline seems uniquly bad at focusing, and prone to letting shit slide for years or decades baring a time crunch. though it could be simply her having issues bringing herself to face this.
This kind of jumped out at me when you posted, but it wasn't that she didn't want to its that she couldn't.

The reader that was with the crystal got destroyed when the MoI shot him the reason she agreed to work with the guy was that he had the only other working one on the planet.

Jesus, ok i'm betting on some sort of group insanity setting in. I mean imperials have mental health issues here, a softer people could easily just fucking snap. Honestly if this wasn't pre slanesh i'd expect chaos corruption.
Remember that they are trapped living on Helheim, and unlike Avernites they don't have any duty, purpose or pride in living here, only fear, horror, suffering and death. After spending decades if not centuries on this horrible murderous hellish deathball wanting every native lifeform to die screaming is a natural response really.

yep. Like I said, they snapped. At least they committed suicide by troll rather than something that would do worse than kill them.

Right a bit more of a response

she should have fallen here. her control was broken, she should have fallen and burned out. she didn't, that's odd. I also can't help but feel the AI's she killed are in a server wondering WTF just happened. They can't know that much about psykers.
She very nearly did. Thankfully she was so angry everything else was just kinda blotted out.

so ball park high beta to low alpha if I remember how strong siren queens are.
Medium Alpha at this point she grows stronger as psykers are wont to do later on, but you know.

she has a trick to stop blink spiders, she has an AOE trick to stop blink spiders! that's huge. even if it's hard to maintain, it would be very useful. we have enofgh psykers we could afford to task some with keeping vital areas or VIP's safe in a field like that.
Its not quite AOE and its very complex. We have psykers who can do similar things though.

good lord, they live in caves and picked a fight with the fucking stone walking trolls? are they legitimately trying to commit suicide by cop or something?
At that point she was halfway convinced yes,

hmmm. somone with an intrest in psykers, and access to luna. holy shit, she's a prototype primarch. Or at least an offshoot of big E's early research. I wonder if anything of her design showed up in the final version? the primarchs where supposed to be super chaos resistant, and marceline seems to be near immune. I wonder if her genome would help with gene seeds any?
Not quite.

The council had access to Luna due to ancient contracts (remember they created the navigators after all). However, she is not connected to emps as far as I am aware, besides being created with machines of a similar quality.

interesting. nillfiam was the site of some sort of psyekr research. I can see how trying to make psykers more stable would result in blanks. also now we know why she didn't fall. she's got some of the local color in her genes.
Niflheim was not the result of psycic research it was blank research. Apparently the scientists were quite fascinated that a genetic code that appears in human DNA was also present in the blank bears and integrated it into the Nilfar. The result was the blank population.

interesting. they were able to scare up a blank to poke her with. probably tied to that world with the hard to spell name that has a bunch of weak ones.
Yeah they got a Nilfar.

As for why. Well they're on the poles for a reason, there are few things more powerful against demons after all.

interesting. sounds like they have a lot of more powerful psykers than their gamma level base.
Actually a normal penguin is only an epsilon.

But yes, they do have significantly more powerful psykers, they're a caste society normal penguins, royals, kings and emperors with Emperors being alpha. Each kingdom has a lot of emperors with a very powerful royal family at the top.

hmmm, the Black crystal crown? or just an impossible potent artifact?
More of a representation that that penguin is top penguin and lets him easily tap into the hundreds of millions of penguins that make up his kingdom forming them into a massive choir that could obliterate entire worlds.

Its not technically an artifact though, more of a psycic representation that transfers to the successor on the death of the current holder, the crown like growth growing out to become the crown.

this does let us ball park her age. since we know the last human enclave she found was when she was fairly young. so she's probably less than 500 years old right now.
Actually a fair few thousand years old, (she was born M24, she found the humans around M25 on their last legs she doesn't reach the pole until late M31...yeah she has a real issue with time. She'll stay put for a long time, or spend ages wondering around. It doesn't help that she tends to act like a completionist in areas she's in. To give context we still don't know the complete ecosystem of the spine or all of its hidden nooks and crannies and she will figure out the entirety of it and every power she can find in it.)

As for them going nuts, yeah them going all 12 flavours of mad came fairly recently, they survived because they had a fair amount of DAoT tech left over, even some basic manufacturing ability to create new impalers and the Trolls helped out.

But, as time went past things started to get worse and worse and in then end the trolls unmade the cave in a rather...brutal fashion. There's a reason we never suspected there was a lab in the spine.

I notice marceline has a habit of taking serious things like this. first the 20 minutes to make gills test, then accepting a joking offer to pay for her services with room and board.
Kinda.

Your not wrong, but she is also more than a bit distressed at the fact that she's the last human on Avernus being thrown at her...she always kinda knew, but well...its another thing to have confirmation.

yeah, this seems to be her pattern. stay a while then wonder off again. I do wonder if she ever checks back on any of the places she's called home.
Not really.

Travel on Avernus takes a while, especially with her travelling habits.

Of course her stay a while is usually centuries in length.

bitt odd that her soul weapon would be something she has no idea how to use, probably a metaphor or something. psychic bullshit can be weird.
She has an idea of how, it was more like it was instinctual. She had no real training with it though and she recognises that this is an issue and she can use it much better if she were trained.

wait, Kairos? one of the least trustworthy demons of the god diametrically opposed to nurgle told this guy this was a good idea, and he did it? goddammit, I think Marceline just upped the average intelligence of Nurgl's demons by a non trial amount.
I was wondering when someone would comment on this.

Long story short Bublol was a very rapidly rising Great Unclean One hoping to become an exalted. In a lot of futures it pulled it off and was a real pain in the ass for Tzeench so Kairos was sent to deal with the problem before it became such. To ensure Bubol was killed off and Nurgle got ****ed in the process Kairos let himself be captured and "tortured" for information (there's very little anyone can actually do to harm him, but he's a good actor).

In exchange for his "freedom" he told him that the best way to get into Nurgle's good graces would be to lead an assault on Avernus and damage *ERROR DATA NOT FOUND.*

As he is very good at acting, very good at marketing (everyone knows his predictions are pretty much 100% accurate and he is right about 99% of the time) and he was in a shitty situation he was able to make Bubol believe him.

End result one very happy Kairos and Tzeench and one blubber mountain destroyed.

one of our descendants. that's an avanite trait right there.
Nah tis the original Vlad. The man explored Avernus pretty much on his lonesome almost in its entirety he's more Avernite than any living Avernite.

probably more for believing bloody kaross than simply losing.
Yes that was one of the biggest reasons he got dumped in the couldron.

yeah, the original vlad would not have had good codes to give. this guy cna't have been from too far in the future, unless he gave her a clavis full of old codes. Which is possible. also do we have clavis tech? they are decently high end DAoT tech, being essentially super secure pip boys.
Actually no.

The way it works was that his codes were hard wired into the STCs because he was such an important figure, basically being the expert on Avernus for most of his life.

Now this was only the case for the surface STCs not the orbital ones, but a lot of the ones we have especially the back ground ones are from the surface STC constructor stored in Storms End and the cogitators we recovered from around the place are also from the surface all of which have his codes in them at the very lowest depths of their programming.

As he claimed his codes were destroyed and he had the only version of them it was considered too much of a hassle to try and change every STC especially as identifying which ones were his codes would be really hard without the Clavis, so his codes drifted to the bottom and were ignored for ever until Marcey came along with the supposedly "destroyed" clavis.

that's the face of a man looking at a possible time paradox, and slowly backing away. Reminds me of a story where somone tried set up time loops where outside information would be needed to close the loop as an Intel tool, and he got a message from his future self saying "don't fuck with time."
Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality. The entire bit that resulted in Harry getting a Time Turner in the first place was kinda stupid, summarized as "giving a child a time machine as a sleep aid."

*evil megacorp noises* how dare the scientist treat the test tube baby like a person! it might grow up well adjusted or something!
Kinda debatable. Their objection isn't to him treating her as a human child, but rather him treating her as his own daughter. They've given him a great amount of leeway and otherwise don't seem to mind how he's raised her. It could be interpreted as them simply telling him to be prepared to give her the Emperor's Mercy, given that she's an experimental psyker after five consecutive failures whose stability is still in question. The "authorities other than ourselves" line also implies that the project isn't for their own personal benefit (as they could die before its completion), but to fight the Men of Iron.

By that point yes.

The project began before the start of the War, but by that point they needed a weapon the MoI couldn't eventually steal or replicate, it was another reason they got their hands on Luna grade genetic machines.

@Durin, Tamia's Tireless trait doesn't have a mechanical effect that makes her less fatigued than normal, but I'm thinking that maybe it should.

Plan Box Out

[X] Use a medium sized force of siege troops to build pill boxes to support anti-titan units at the planed elite site with demo charges. Air supported withdrew.

[X] Super light harassment forces focused on using wildlife.

@Durin

1. Mittens gets +10 to pyromancy rolls and has a fair bit of power himself. Does that power and bonus to pyromancy get added to Xavier's when Xavier uses pyromancy?
2. Is Mittens capable of adding his +30 to daemonology rolls to daemonology-based Deny the Witch attempts?
