due to the daemonic possession yes. otherwise they are battleships that sacrifice some firepower for a lot of durability
On that subject.

@Durin
1. Who will be designing our battlebarges? I kinda hope it'll be a cooperative enterprise between us Vanaheim and Byzantium?
2. How powerful do we think it'll be?

We're still not going to be able to make em for a while, the metal hasn't been made yet :(

Eh might as well throw this in.

3. The modifications I've made to Cobalt sufficient?

1. pretty much
2. it depends
3. almost. make Colarium rare and it will do

@Durin

You said that we can reliably target up to commodores. Brigadiers are the equivalent rank in the army as far as I know.

1. So does that mean we would target the equivalent rank in the army too ?

2. Or would we be able to target higher ranks in the army since the army officers are more likely to be with their soldiers, i.e in the transports ?

@Durin

Unrelated to the current battles, but for actions, do you intend to increase the scale past 'Perfect Critical Success'? Our characters (Hey, Ridcully!) are reaching the point where they can both hit Nat 100 and be over 200 over the target.

(I suggest 'Transcendent Critical Success', if you lack a name.)

Hard to believe that people didn't understand what the reserve was or what it's supposed to do.
I hope we manage to keep Lin alive through this.

  • [X] Plan Bleeding Fleet
-[X] Medium- Make a stand at your orbital defences but reatreat before suffering major losses . This will preserve most your fleet and inflict significant damage to the Abomination Fleet. This is what you are expected to do.
-[X] Above Dis: Hold- Attempt to hold the voidspace above Dis but retreat before suffering catastrophic losses. This will take advantage of the fire support your cities can provide to attempt to convince the Abomination Fleet to ald its armies further from Dis. This is what they expect you to do, and they will drive you off if they think they can afford the losses.
-[X] Primary Target: Main Fleet-This will be the main attack force and therefore the easiest target- This is the default option if you want to do as much fleet damage as possible.
-[X] Secondary Target: Leadership elements- Using information gained from their plans make a specific effort to destroy ships lead by the leaders of the Crusade/Valinor. Should those ships be too heavily defended, do the same for the next tier down in leadership.
-[X] Make blatant of the information that Ridcully has gained form the enemies plans- Massive bonus and certain chance of them realising you have the plans.
    [X] Plan No Bombardment
-[X] Major- Make an extended stand at your orbital defense but retreat before suffering catastrophic losses. This will preserve some of your fleet and inflict major damage to the Abomination Fleet. This will also allow the Fólkvangr to fight to its strengths.
    - [X] Above Dis: Bluff- Attempt to hold the voidspace above Dis until the Abomination Fleet makes play to take it. This is effectively a bluff to convince them to to take the voidspace above Dis.
    - [X] Primary: Main Fleet - This will be the main attack force and therefore the easiest target- This is the default option if you want to do as much fleet damage as possible.
    - [X] Secondary: Attacks of Opportunity - Target the parts of the fleet to achieve the best casualty ratios.
    - [X] Make blatant of the information that Ridcully has gained form the enemies plans- Massive bonus and certain chance of them realising you have the plans.
    [X] Plan And What Army
-[X] Major- Make an extended stand at your orbital defense but retreat before suffering catastrophic losses.
--[X] If you manage to destroy your targets early, unload as much as possible on Transports and leave.
-[X] Above Dis: Bluff- Attempt to hold the voidspace above Dis until the Abomination Fleet makes play to take it.
-[X] Mass Conveyors- The Mass Conveyors are very well protected and armored and will be kept back from the main battle and therefore not easy targets but most likely carry many of the better troops among the attackers, including the Titans.
-[X] Make blatant of the information that Ridcully has gained form the enemies plans.
    [x] Plan Dis Defence
    [X] Plan Against Expectations
-[X] Low- Make a fighting retreat from the orbitals as soon as the enemy gets into range, leaving your defences to cover the retreat. This will preserve your fleet and inflict some damage to the Abomination Fleet.
-[X] Above Dis: Bluff- Attempt to hold the voidspace above Dis until the Abomination Fleet makes play to take it. This is effectively a bluff to convince them to to take the voidspace above Dis.
-[X] Secundary: Light Forces- The Light forces will be kept back from the main battle and therefore not easy targets. - Attacking the Light forces will be challenging but will further cripple their anti-harassment capacities.
-[X] Primary: Main Fleet-This will be the main attack force and therefore the easiest target- This is the default option if you want to do as much fleet damage as possible.
-[X] Make subtle of the information that Ridcully has gained form the enemies plans- Medium bonus and small chance of them realising you have the plans.

Thing is though people assumed the reserve was for us not for Mar Sara/keeping the rest of the Trust safe.
Did they? I assumed the reserve would be used as necessary as the situation dictated, which is the standard use of a reserve, I have no idea why people thought the rest of the Trust would shrug and let Lin burn, that makes no sense whatsoever.

I dunno I saw people who seemed to assume the reserve was waiting in the wings to come in and crush the fleet, similar to how we did Garkill, when in actuality its a strategic reserve as you said.

I don't think anyone thought the Trust would let Lin die though that in and of itself is unlikely.

Dunno what help they thought the trust could be other than fleet support, some were adamant in an oversized all in caps way that we are on our own and no help would be sent at all.

Well I can't deny that for the moment we are on our own, but hopefully not for very long.
Aye we are, but we chose to be on our own, we voted not to have Trust fleet support assigned to the Avernus system before the crusade dropped in keeping that reserve nice and large and risking us needing to wait for support if the crusade fleet was large enough, I hoped that would of been a factor when it came to people making their plans for the war, it was surprising to find out otherwise.

Eh in this case I think I'll chalk it up to time.

When it was fresh in the minds people might have remembered better, but well...

[X] Plan Against Expectations
-[X] Low- Make a fighting retreat from the orbitals as soon as the enemy gets into range, leaving your defences to cover the retreat. This will preserve your fleet and inflict some damage to the Abomination Fleet.

Screw it, I'm voting for this other plan it's perfect for what i want, the reserve can do its job and help with the main crusade fleet when it arrives, it's best for us to preserve our fleet to help when they arrive and use it for harassment when they send their transports back and when the rest of their transports arrive, Durin has said that its unlikely all of their transports are here so more could arrive at any time. Durin has stated that going blatant for this defense is less effective than during harassment so this saves the plans for when they will have the best effect. This plan will maximum how many transports we can take down over the next month which will be the best way for our fleet to help save Lin, only the ground troops can help kill him even if the fleet goes kamikaze they are unluckily to be accurate enough to hit Lin wherever we put him so using our fleet to attack the threats to Lin who is the main objective for this war would be the best use for them in my opinion. No amount of void superiority will guarantee them a chance to kill Lin, it helps them but they NEED the transports to win they dont need complete void supremacy to achieve their objective, it helps them but only if the transports get through.

We are set up to harass the crap out of the crusades transportation of their troops, it could be amazingly effective and have a huge effect of the coming fight for Lins life.

I'm getting the feeling we should stop with the questions.

Anyhow, do people think the trick we pulled with the thunder beast herds can be replicated if they end up in Elysium?

Isn't it like 2 in the morning in Aussie land go to sleep dude.

Edit my autocorrect changed Australia to Aussie land, I think I should check the notes on the latest update.

Probably better, the thunderbeasts devastated the orks just because they were in the way, they will actively hate the crusade forces.

It will be enthusiastic stumping, less just confused stomping.
