I can't really care. She just challenged us to a Shadow Game for all intents and purposes and I can't help but fret over what happens when we lose.

As far as I care Fate can go fuck off and the sooner she's gone the better.
My point was that I think trying to win via violence is our lose condition for the game.

And it's not really a Shadow Game, since our soul isn't at stake :V

I don't think it's a metaphor. Or some test of character beyond how we treat others and what we'd do when forced into a fight.

... let me give you a hint. Your Soul is not at stake.
Neither is your bodies, your memories or any other part of you except maybe your pride.
It doesn't change what it feels like, that being a Shadow Game, but confirmation helps. Even if I already suspected you wouldn't do that without warning signs left, right, and center. You're a good QM in that regard.

[X] Plan Something Fishy
-[X] First things first, fly up and prepare to evade.
-[X] Ask the Queen of Darkness if she intends to attack us now, and whether it won't be a violation of rules. Can't we all get along?
-[X] If she persists and tries to attack, Rico tries to burn through the chained ceiling, while Eva casts Soothing Moonlight on everything (target-by-level - SO useful) to see if anything happens.
-[X] If nothing useful happens, go to the default response of burning the queen with fire. Reserve the boost for defense just in case. Eva should see about keeping us all healed in the meantime.
-[X] Most importantly: Don't let Queen of Darkness separate you.

I like this one. It has the talking option, the attack the environment option, and the combat option for if the others don't work.

In regards to attacking part of the environment, I think the intent behind it is more important than the strength of the actual attack. Play to our affinities, Sun's Determination and Moon's Love. Go all in on our chosen tactic.

[x] Plan Fight Metaphors With Metaphors
-[x] The path this game has been taking is wrong. If the chains of fate say that you're only options are to be a monster, you'll just break those chains. You don't want to hurt anyone, but you refuse to let anyone hurt those you love.
--[x] Sun: Cast Scorching Sunlight at the chained ceiling. Shatter the chains and bring light to this world of darkness.
--[x] Moon: Stay close to Sun, don't get separated. If anyone gets hurt, cast Soothing Moonlight on everyone.
--[x] If the Queen tries to attack, use your quick reflexes and the skills you've learned from training in order to block and dodge. Use your mental connection to time things so that Sun can knock the Queen away when she's being blocked by Moon.
Hmmm. Theory for level 10 Scorching Sunlight. It's third ability is Ray.
Possible. My main prediction is Spell Boost for level 10 Sunlight Scepter.

Ray doesn't make much sense for the spell unless it's either a Boost-Self spell, or the character has Omni-Caster. It's more of a Weapon special ability.

Edit: Disregard that, I fail reading comprehension at times.

Hello, new here. Just got done reading this entire thread last night just in time for another update I'm not used to quests but I really like this one so shyness takes a back seat.

Hey Naron, I am having problems with images being broken for two characters I want to submit. Would it be ok to post them here anyways once I finish up their profiles? You know their appearence anyways. Or at least, I assume you do.

I just really like that this plan has a bit of everything

Trust me dude, people are looking far too into this. They are convinced of mind game shenanigans for SOME unknown reason. It's stupid because mind games were never a situation to pop up before, so why now?

Not a fan of those, to be honest... I rather have characters grow by what they actually do, not by some kind of test.
Although it is true that you are supposed to learn something from this.

No problem, I can just fish for images myself if I know who they are.

It's Roman and Neo. Neo is easy. Just make her a Magical Girl.

Roman though? The hell am I supposed to explain him with his gun cane?

There are many lessons we can learn from this, depending on how it plays out.

If we get pasted because we didn't attack all-out, then it's clear that the lesson was "sometimes it's best not overthink it and just shoot the bad guy". If we get to interact with the environment in an interesting ways, then the lesson was on the merits of lateral thinking.

If it's a MG expy of Roman, then it's just a personal weapon of said MG.
If it isn't... Make him a practitioner with a customized magic focus perhaps? He is after all Aura user in RWBY canon... And Lucius Malfoy is a precedent.

I can't see this fight being any too damaging seeing as it would be weird if one moment we were playing hand of fate's "game" and the next we were injured or something like that but I still don't want to miss what would happen if we win.

Just a thought, maybe this is something like when I person uses tarot cards so tell what kind of personality the other has? It's just a thought that popped into mind just now, but with a name like Hand of Fate I wouldn't be surprised.
