Vote isn't closed right?
Not yet, no, but I'll close it later tonight.
But can he use the Functions with the Transistor out of his reach?
As a general rule of thumb, while
possible to fire Functions from the Transistor while it's in flight, that would incur
severe penalties to aiming, on account of not being able to judge properly where it's aiming, and the AIs not really dealing with speed all that well.
Too many close shaves with trees to be very comfortable with it, see.
Now, as, say, a mobile turret, just floating around him, that's more feasible, but some Functions still have the strike limitation, which I
just realised I forgot to note in the research tab. Using it like that without a holdout weapon is inadvisable, though.
LogicBomb(), name subject to change. Creates a landmine by using data. The passive I thought for this is it lets you plant a function on a surface and activated at will or by stepping on said surface. Everyone, feel free to change my idea or improve on it before I finish it.
@Prok is this suggestion ok? Anyone can use this incomplete function and improve on it if I can't. I still don't understand the mechanics of creating functions at the moment.
There's a form on the Function Research Tab that should help you out with that, but this fits the basics really well!
Look at the form and it should help you with that.
I'm starting to think there's a major misconception floating around, but tagging Swordsmanship voters to check that they KNOW what they're voting for is no bueno in so many ways. Augh.
As a general rule, if
I can recognise it, your senile grandmother can recognise it, and by extension, Jaune can recognise it.
It can't be used as a sword because, by definition, it
isn't a sword. But that's pedantry, which isn't useful right now.
What is useful right now, is the knowledge that you are a mage. You're slow(ish), you're kinda squishy, but you
hit like an angered god. Improving your swordsmanship, and getting a backup weapon, will help you, yes, it'll definitely make you more mobile, alongside letting you keep the Transistor as a trump card, say, if you get Cache() for example. Use your sword until you have to get serious, then pull the Transistor out of thin air to rain technological death down on your enemies.
What I will do, however, is offer you a choice in what direction you want to train your swordsmanship, because I've seen some interesting ideas turn up. If you want to train with something a little more on the normal side, like Crocea Mors, you can do that, if you want to use Slice() to turn the Transistor into a sword, or just club people over the head with it, you can do that, or if you want to find some kind of happy medium... go ahead.
But your swordsmanship is almost always going to take a backseat to your Functions.
