Cazanus SL 1 Resolution.
"Thank you Mr. Cazanus. Perhaps I can help out again sometime?" You are only half-asking, considering catching this cell wasn't particularly difficult, and you improved your skills somewhat over the course of it by ironing out a few flaws.

"Certainly." He nodded, apparently impressed by your first attempt at an actual investigation. "If you'll excuse me, I have a number of other investigations to oversee." he added, before disappearing as you were distracted by one of the PDF coming into the room. You'll get him to teach you how he does that one of these days.

Reward: Cazanus SL has advanced to 3. Karma now 360. +15 to Evasion Skills.

Evasion: Lying: 15. You recognize that there are those you simply can't be sure of either way, and information too dangerous to allow the possibility of falling into the wrong hands. How to make Void munitions, for example, as it can get the planet destroyed if it goes wrong. You still have trouble with the whole 'telling untruths' thing, but you won't simply tell people the answer to a question if you have reason to doubt them. Malus to Intrigue actions reduced.

You no longer have trouble with the whole 'telling untruths' thing, and you won't simply tell people the answer to a question if you have reason to doubt them. Malus to Intrigue actions removed.

Evasion: Lying: 30. You can tell lies with some ability to make anyone who isn't an idiot fall for it. Similarly, you are better at discerning the lies of others, as you know what to look for. Slight bonus to Intrigue actions.

Evasion: Dodging: 15. You can dodge projectiles and/or strikes, but it's more instinctive than planned. This can be a good thing if you don't have time to consciously react, but it makes planning a fight even more difficult since you can't even guarantee your own position. Malus to Combat Checks reduced.

Evasion: Dodging: 20. You can dodge projectiles and/or strikes, but it's equally instinctive and planned. This can be a bad thing if you don't have time to consciously react, but it makes planning a fight less difficult since you can somewhat guarantee your own position. Malus to Combat Checks removed.

Evasion: Trickery: 15. You can manipulate some people into harming themselves or their causes without them realizing, as well as hide small objects on your person, though someone who's really looking will see through your efforts. Similarly, your disguises are downright crude compared to the experts in the Witch Hunters. Malus to attempts at hiding small objects and disguising your intentions or even yourself reduced.

1. how about focusing to unlock more knowledge about Her Genetic? will that work? like reverse engineering marines?

2. is it possible to create our version of Primarchs? obviously far lesser than Original 20, maybe just one step over the Custode?
1. You'd need higher Medicine for that, but if you get as far as Space Marines, then maybe.

2. You'd need to get Medicine to maxed-out Advanced, but, sure.

I wonder if it would be worth it to invest in warp chat and use the crystals with the concept privacy and purity to set up a sort of warp internet. Add that to a regular internet and we'd be set.

Risky. Memetic corruption would get really nasty really quick, and a ritual hijacking the connection would be entirely possible.

To clarify, purity crystals only help so much. Shards are the equivalent of basic runes. Stones are Intermediate Rune-equivalents. Crystals are High Rune-equivalents. Finally, Gems are equal to Advanced Runes.

Stones are your current upper limit on things you can mass-produce. You can make the Crystals, but you rapidly hit diminishing returns trying to set up anything requiring large numbers of them. Also, no, replicators can't make them, before anyone decides to ask the obvious solution.

What if we try to engrave runes upon crystals to increase its conceptual weight and potency? for example, just create an order concept crystal and engrave single/multiple runes for an order upon it. maybe even engrave rune of balance over it and add other concept runes on it, so that concepts can act as one by strengthing each other.

An Eldar Lexicon rune traditionally worn by Asuryan, the Phoenix King, head of the Eldar pantheon of gods, as a symbol of the Eldar warrior spirit; it represents the balance between the fury of emotion and the cold surety of skill

Do we know how powerful a psyker needs to be to make crystals.

For example, could we have Beta grade psykers with Stone boosted Power and Control make small crystals that can be used to construct larger psi-tech devices?

On the subject of runes, I think we might want to see if the Eldar are interested in trading Stones/Crystals for psychic knowledge, if we can get in touch with them? Do we know where their nearest world/craft is?

I wonder if we could use the crystals to study the warp in ways thought impossible for millions of years. Create a chamber engraved and surrounded by crystals with the concepts isolation, and barrier. Use a gellar field boosted by crystals to make sure the warp is safely contained as you pull a smallish amount of the warp into the materium and create a way to safely insert different crystals into the warp bubbles. Let's see what happens when the warp is subjected to the concept of [Calm] or better yet [Solidify] or [Stasis]. I'm sure being able to safely experiment with the warp under controlled laboratory like conditions would allow us to go light years beyond what most can manage.

Samantha SL 2->3. Part 3.
Samantha could feel her 'student' from across the system, which made it easy to tell when she was coming to visit socially rather than for 'lessons' though at this point it was more comparing notes on their own projects, which she was at a massive intellectual and psychic power disadvantage. She had only lore to draw on, which was rapidly being exhausted as Serras learned things the Witch Hunters didn't know. Providing warning for the incoming Waagh roughly half a decade early, for example.

While the Diviners of the Witch Hunters often provided early warning for various disasters and headed them off, any further than a year in the future was too much for them, lacking the ability to trawl the Warp that deeply. However, Serras didn't have that problem. For skill, she was literally rewriting the book on countering rituals, as well as pointing out a number of loopholes in their security. For power, Serras was the strongest psyker she'd ever encountered by a wide margin. She was starting to feel inadequate as a teacher and a psyker in general, to be honest.

Take Serras' most recent projects, for example. She analyzed the remains of what seemed to be Daemons from another universe, and not only figured out how to create them, how regular psykers could create them, but how to give their entire society a boost, from the military to the Witch Hunters. Never mind just figuring out how to make people into psykers, something that had stumped psykers for centuries, she was going to completely revolutionize human society. She herself was using the crystals that increased one's control over the Warp simply to try and keep up on that end alone.

She felt kind of... jealous, to be honest. She'd been rescued from a group of cultists when she was young, and had to work for every shred of power she had, secretly terrified some form of corruption had taken root inside of her during her time with the cultists. Serras meanwhile, had everything she tried come so easily. She worked at things, but Samantha couldn't remember Serras ever failing at anything...

You've noticed how Samantha has been acting differently lately, and you wish to help, but you're not completely sure how to go about it.

You...

[ ] Ask her directly. It usually works, but there's always the chance she'll take offense.

[ ] Hint at it. While less likely to get some kind of answer, also less likely to cause offense.

[ ] Let her talk. She might decide to tell you, or simply let something slip.

[X] Ask her directly. It usually works, but there's always the chance she'll take offense.

Probably a good idea to go with this. Better to be blunt and getting fit done and being subtle and it never getting done.

So @ibgar123 for the "warp isolation chamber" I would say it'd look something like this.
It's purpose? Studying the principle forces of the warp and the unfettered nature of it in its pure untainted form. Also allowing us to see how concepts effect the warp in a safe manner. End goal? Advancing our understanding of the warp and potentially a way to 100% detect Daemon presence due to having a baseline to work off of. It'd probably also work as a good way to isolate and study warp artifacts and creatures.

Want to nip this in the bud. She might be upset but I'd prefer not to have a potential Luther situation down the road.

Get the feeling that something like that is at the very end of what we are capable of and something even the Emperor would have trouble with.
