#StickiedForAReason
Votes that do not follow the template will not be counted!

At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

[] [Plan] X (Current Month, Short Term, Long Term, Immediate Actions, Purchases, etc.)
-[] Major Decisions: Character name here
--[] Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 1
--[] Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
---[] Sub-conditions of Major Decision 2
-[] Minor Decisions: Character name here
--[] Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
---[] Sub-conditions of Minor Decision 1
--[] Minor Decision 2
-[] Free Actions: Character name here
--[] Free Action 1
---[] Sub-conditions
--[] Free Action 2
---[] Sub-conditions

You get the jist of this.

However, under the plan vote, you will then put a "Priority" Vote.

[] Aegon Priority: 1. Major Decision 1, 2. Free Action 2, 3. Minor Decision 1, 4. Major Decision 2, etc.
[] Daenerys Priority: 1. Free Action 2, 2. Major Decision 3, 3. Minor Decision 1, etc.

This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

[] [Plan] X

You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

[X] Give the full treasury amount.

We need to retake the daughters and everywhere else before returning on the back of Dragons to Westeros. Money is needed.

[X] Give the full treasury amount.

Our cousin Robert was right about copper counting being tedious.

I disagree that you have to make things artificially harder. Depending upon how we spend our coin the difficulty should increase organically.

For example, if we put together a new sellsword company or employ an established sellsword company with the coin we get, it'd set off alarms across the Sunset Kingdom.

Also as our magical powers progress, money will become easier to obtain. So in the long term getting access to coin shouldn't change the story that drastically.

Okay, so I'm writing the next segment and it is time to give you all the Targaryen vault. Problem is, if I give you the full 1/4 of the Royal Treasury that was once taken from the Treasury and stored in the Iron Bank, the game gets a lot easier. So I'll leave it to you all. Give that full amount, or pull shenanigans to keep it from you and make the game harder?

[] Give the full treasury amount.
[] Keep the amount lower to keep quest difficulty up.

Gonna be writing the chapter while you all vote. Get the votes in ASAP everyone!

Current Standings:

On that note, we still going to use our stolen goods to pay for Dany's amulet? I mean we could, but IC Aegon would probably just use our Targ cash now that we have it.

Or maybe he's going to be a spiteful little ass and go forward with the original plan anyway ;)

Stretching One's Wings - Part Seven
Winning Vote

Treat the knowledge with caution. Magic is still new to you, and while the knowledge of the future may be helpful, you don't want to lose who she is either.

Major Decisions: Aegon
Take Matalarr and meet with the Valyrian worshipers. Get to know each member by name. If they ask about your blessings, show them something simple. Like fire immunity. Take Jorah to the market and commission a pendant for Dany's nameday. Design: Two entwined dragons for yourself and Dany. The dragons will be encircled by an Ouroboros styled Dragon to symbolize Viserys' self-sacrificing protection. Materials: Gold (Aegon's dragon is yellow gold, white gold for Dany's, and red gold for Viserys'). Rubies for accents and purple dragonglass for eyes. The combination of gold and ruby shall evoke the appearance of flame. Add a High Valyrian inscription: Va moriot hen Drakarys (Forever of Dragonfire) Hēnkirī isse Ānogar (Together in Blood).
Sell some of Illyrio's gem encrusted statues to pay for it.

Minor Decisions: Aegon
See to the summons from the Iron Bank. Train with Matalarr. Train your battlemagic.

Free Actions: Aegon
Talk with Ser Jorah, Boromun & Matalarr each in turn.

Major Decisions: Daenerys
Explore your scrying magic. Go out with Boramun and listen for news and rumors.

Minor Decisions: Daenerys
Train with your tutors. (Household management/Stewardship.) Try to hatch the dragon eggs. Train with Matalarr.

Free Actions: Daenerys
Talk with Jaehaelyx & Saenera each in turn. Talk with Aegon.

Stretching One's Wings - Part Seven
First Week of the Sixth Month 297 AC

You can't do anything about Illyrio vouching for you right now, nor can you figure out why he did it from here. But whatever his reasons, you are getting access to whatever Targaryen accounts were available earlier than you planned. There could be all kinds of things in there. Spellbooks of the Targaryens of old, gold, relics, who knows what? After looking over the forms to check for any hidden quirks, you sign agreeing to pay the storage fee from the account for the years that the account has been left unpaid. It was previously paid from the account of the Iron Throne, but when Robert discovered that taking the throne did not give him access to the account, he stopped all payments. The fee for going unpaid for 15 years is formidable, however it is nothing compared to what is within.

You start going over ledgers and realize that somehow one of the old kings of Westeros had the foresight to put approximately a quarter of the Royal Treasury into the Iron Bank, and kept the funds in the Targaryen name rather than the Iron Throne account. All the money you've spent trying to build a massive fortune, and you had one waiting all along. There is gold, silks, gems and other rarities. Books of lore from ages past, even (and your breath sucks in sharply as you read this) an heirloom from Valyria itself. One that went unused during Aegon's Conquest and so was not listed in the common histories. A shield made of Valyrian Steel. Weapons are common, but you've never even heard of a shield made of the material. You weren't even certain that Valyrian Steel would be useful as a defensive metal instead of merely an offensive one. Why neither Aegon nor his sisters used it you are unaware, but there it is on the inventory. Such a defense would be extremely useful to whoever was allowed to use it.

Do you...

[] Leave it in the bank for now. It will be safer there than at your manor.

[] Take it from the bank. Such a thing is better being used than kept in a vault as a curiosity.
-[] Dany is learning to use the sword and shield. This will help protect her. It will also be a symbol of the might of your House.
-[] Ser Jorah is a knight sworn to your service. He uses a bastard sword and no shield, but he no doubt knows how to use one.
-[] You will use this. You can stop training in dual weaponry and have this as a symbol of your might and power.

There are too many tomes in the list to take them all home now, without a cart to carry them, but you recognize some of the titles.

Blood and Fire
The Fires of the Freehold
Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns: Their Unnatural History
Dragonkin, Being a History of House Targaryen From Exile To Apotheosis, With a Consideration of the Life and Death of Dragons

Rare and historic titles, all. Lore that should by all rights be lost to the ages. And the amount of wealth within! Madness. Many of the things you were going to attempt will be incredibly easy to startup and accomplish with funds like this. Just over 15 million golden talons are in the account. That alone would buy... more than you ever needed to own. 15 million golden talons. A fortune larger than you ever dreamed. To think you were worried about how much larger investments cost!

This will be good news to Dany, and also takes some pressure off of yourself. You'll still need to secure a source of real, steady income; but now you have more breathing room for that first. This is a lot of money, but wars are expensive. And you know that war will come, sooner or later, it must come. You are a Targaryen, and that will always have you seen as a threat.

You sign the rest of the forms almost in a daze, unable to believe your luck. For once a good surprise. Things are certainly looking up for the future of your House. Your smaller storeroom with the items you took from Illyrio is emptied, with all your items merged into the larger storeroom. Well, you can certainly afford more property now. And more workers. And better equipment. And... well, a lot of things. Now the question is how you're going to tell Daenerys that the woman from the bank has been being flirty again. And now you know her name. Lady Shaena L'kainos of House L'kainos. Her family is one of the Merchant Princes of Braavos, and also one of the founders of the Iron Bank. Definitely someone worthy to have as a second wife if alliances are being made.

'Oh shit,' you suddenly remember. "Once fame and fortune are ours, or three years hence, whichever occurs first." You promised Dany that you'd marry then. Not be officially betrothed, marry. Fortune is certainly yours. Now all that is left is fame. You might end up getting married sooner than you thought. That... isn't a negative thought, but it is a surprising one. Still, your newfound wealth can certainly make you a Merchant Prince. You can start on new ventures and announce an engagement party with a marriage soon after. With the kind of money you have now, even the Sealord should be convinced to attend. A single person having the wealth that rivals the treasuries of kingdoms is a good business partner to have, prejudice or no and a bad business partner to alienate. This might be just the thing you've been looking for to turn your fortunes around . That would entail letting the populace know just how wealthy you are though.

Do you plan to:
[] Keep your new wealth a secret?

[] Flaunt it. You need allies, and being so wealthy can only bring you more. It could also have other benefits, if the faithful think your sudden wealth is truly because you have the blessings of the gods...

You promised to marry Dany when fame and fortune were yours. Do you:

[] Consider this enough for that and start preparations next week?

[] Wait for fame as well.
[] Talk it over with Daenerys and see what she suggests.

You also have another decision to make. Do you:
[] Take out more money to keep on hand. You're wealthy now and need to act like it all the time. (Write-in how much.)

[] Take out the rare books to study. (Write-in which ones.)

So I rolled for what was in the account a long time ago. This was it. 15 million talons is a fuck-ton of money. But wars are expensive, so don't think you can take over Westeros just yet. If you don't have a steady source of income and the war takes longer than expected...

Also, people will only treat you like you are rich if they know you are rich. By the way, that "1" I rolled so long ago when you first came to the bank? Takes effect after this. You still don't know what it does though.

I only choose this option to keep things interesting and that adversity breeds experience and strength.

I recall that before the 3rd Punic War some Roman Senators unsuccessfully made a similar argument in favour of not destroying Carthage – without an enemy Rome would grow weak.

I expect to be equally unsuccessful.

Edit: I've just noticed that the vote has closed.

Heh. I knew someone wanted hard mode. Just wasn't sure how many players actually did. Well, you're rich now. Also, not only is the vote closed but the next bit is up if you refresh.

Let's ask Dany if she had any visions before we do anything. Also the GM did say that he is going to apply that Nat 1 soon. So let's be wary.

Will they find out about the Dothraki horde? We might be able to contribute to Braavos's defense. We should go on the offensive, working together with the Braavosi to hire merc companies to attack the Dothraki before they can make a demand to the Sealord asking for Dany. This would keep us safe and also hopefully gain us prestige and influence in the city.

Nope, not getting that shield out of that vault just yet. It's invaluable at this current time, and we don't have enough men to guard it.

Why are you all voting to take a priceless heirloom, a shield of Valyrian steel, out of the bank when Dany can't even use it all that well right now? Not only that, but I highly doubt we'd be able to defend it if someone decides they want it for themselves.

The smart thing to do is to keep it in the Iron Bank, where it's safe. At least until Dany's sword&shield skills are better, and we're in a better position to make sure no one takes it from us.

[X] Leave it in the bank for now. It will be safer there than at your manor.

That shield is too valuable to take out for everyday protection. It's something you use for open battle, or when you're on a campaign anyway.

Write in for Wealth

[X] Keep it a secret (for now) and talk it over with Dany. She is our partner. She deserves to have a say.

Love and Marriage

[X] Talk it over with Daenerys and see what she suggests.

Dany is our partner. All big decisions should be talked over with her if circumstances allow. Plus marriage and wealth are so closely aligned it just makes sense. And we can wow the city with our wealth anytime we wish to. No need to be hasty.

[X] Take out more money to keep on hand. You're wealthy now and need to act like it all the time. (Write-in how much.)

Seems like a good amount of walking around cash for a rich man. Plus we're going shopping for Dany later. We could get more for her/us if we see something good.

Note: I propose that this is the amount Aegon has on hand at all times. It would allow us to make impulse purchases on everything but the most expensive products (things like unique items, houses, or land).

[X] Take out the rare books to study.
-[X] Blood and Fire
-[X] Dragons, Wyrms, and Wyverns: Their Unnatural History
--[X] Ask the bank about obtaining the services of a scribe to make copies of your books.

Books on Dragons are a must have. A dedicated scribe would be a good investment. Get enough of them and we could start a bookstore. Or just sell copies of rare books for a premium.

There are two books about dragons, and two books on history. Taking the dragon books first because we need to hatch those eggs ASAP.

The first book sounds like a survey book, and the second was written by a septon who many thought was a sorceror.

This is a bit of an understatement. These books are incredibly rare, particularly 'Fires', which Tyrion thinks only has a complete copy in Volantis

I'm of the opinion we get some copies made pronto, and use those whilst we keep the originals in the vault. That removes a risk that these old and ancient scrolls and books get damaged

There is a Follower we're about to meet who we could pay to scribe it. We could even make him our assistant to do managerial tasks. Kinda like Missandei, but for accounting rather than translating.

Hey Luna does the bank do things like checks or some such?
I debated coming up with a system for cash, but... Nah. Just cold hard coin.
