    At this time I am using a counter system, listing the number of days votes take to be put into action. However for write-in votes you don't know how many days an action may take. For this we will use the old system of Major/Minor Decisions, and I will tell you how many days/weeks/months the plan will take. Remember that every month has 28 days, and that there are 13 months in the year with New Years as a special day alone outside the months. There is no leap year, as their calendar is not accurate to that degree.

    Major decisions are any new endeavors. Finding new investments. Finding new allies (specify what type, where you're looking if possible, what you want from them, etc) finding new trainers, starting new training even if it is with people you already know... Anything new.

    No mixing something that would qualify as a minor decision or free action into your major votes! If you have a question about your votes, ask me.

    Talking with specific people about specific subjects. You can generally only talk with one person at a time with this. There are simple logical exceptions, Husband & Wife combos can be put together as one conversation, brother & sister, stuff like that. I'll clarify if a combo is unacceptable when I see the vote. This is also for continuing any long term action. Any major decision that you have already voted to start (not just mused about in-story) can be a minor action the next time around. Continuing training that you have already begun for example. Continuing a long-term investigation or plot. Stuff like this.

    Making small talk with characters. You will not learn anything special really, but it gives you more insight into their backgrounds and history, can raise/lower their loyalty or other relationship points with you, etc. Raising/lowering and how much depends on rolls.

    These can interrupt any current action(s) and will take precedence over the current plan. A way to change things on the fly as you discover new information or alternate ways to potentially enhance your plan, or change it completely if needed.

    Remember for all votes if you take a guard or other individual with you, you will need to write-in which guard/person you take with you (just saying take a guard or ally will leave the decision of which one up to me) and also whether Daenerys tries to use any future knowledge on the decision as well if it is one of hers or she is present. (She still may decide to try and use her future knowledge without your consent if she thinks it necessary.) These details are sub-votes.

    This way we can vote on the general plan, then I can separate the order of events in said plan.

    Don't put V1, V2, or any other such revision information into your plan. Just leave it like I have it. Nothing extra. The tally system will update to your newest post. No need to make version markers. It just makes things harder for me.

    If an action in a plan is not one for a specific character, more a general idea of what needs to be done, it will still need to go into the priority matrix.

    At the end of all your votes, put your reasons explaining your vote choice. As I've said before, a plan with reasons will get more weight than one without. Because reasons matter. I care about reasons more than numbers. I need reasons to help build the characters. Get used to putting reasons into your plans, as eventually reasons will become a requirement rather than a suggestion. This post will change when that occurs.

    You may (but are not required to) put additional reasons to agree with that plan beneath your vote if there are reasons for it that the original vote creator didn't put in that you thought of. The more/better the reasoning inside explaining a vote, the greater the chance it will be added into the story.

    Votes are typically closed after either 12 or 24 hours unless real life interferes. Ties will be either decided by me, or by whoever is in the forum or the Discord that has not voted already at the time. I will @ whoever is currently in the forum or Discord that I choose to be the tiebreaker.

    Plans have specific timelines. Immediate Actions are obviously immediate. Current Month is similarly self-explanatory. Short Term is something that can conceivably be done within 1-3 months, and Long Term is 3-6 months.

    Honestly I think we should have Aegon just ask her what she wants.

    My family is not huge on keeping gifts secret or trying to guess what people want, but Dany is not just Egg's sister. She is also his fiancé.

    I'd probably get her something nice but practical. Some Jewelry or other accessory that can double as a weapon or something. An actual weapon. Some nice new clothes that are designed for freedom of movement etc.

    Any girls out there who want to weigh in on this?

    Basically, she understands practicality... but that doesn't mean she isn't still a girl who would like something just girly and not practical sometimes.

    Stretching One's Wings - Part Two
    Fourth Week of the Fifth Month 297 AC​

    The ride back to the city of Braavos is tiring. Thomas is ever excited, asking more and more details of the temple, and you tire of him asking the same questions in different ways, obviously hoping that your answers change and give him more information than what you have already told him.

    Your short answers and obvious rebuffs eventually cause him to fall silent, and you are able to contemplate what has happened. You think on the spell of unraveling that lies in your mind, wondering what other spells you might one day command, and just how powerful the Valyrians of old must have been to be able to invoke a deity to protect the shrine. While some would foolishly assume that deities protected any and all temples sacred to them, you know this is false. If gods protected every temple, then no temples would ever be destroyed. No, the god or gods involved in protecting the temple you just left were invoked somehow.

    'What was the cost?' you can't help but wonder to yourself. 'How much power does it take to appeal to a god and guarantee an answer?' One day, you swear silently to yourself, you will be able to do such a thing. You wish that you could speak with Daenerys about the magic you feel coursing through you, but you don't wish to reveal too much to Thomas. You have yet to decide how forthright with him you should be about the abilities you have gained. You know you'll have to show him something to convince him of your claim that you are truly blessed by the Valyrian gods, but what? You don't even know what your gifts are yet, let alone have a hope of controlling them to put on a show. As the road passes by, you ponder.

    It is on the second day of your journey back that something finally happens to take the situation out of your hands. Dany is cooking over the cookfire from your camp for the night, when she trips and falls towards the flames. You immediately leap for her and go to push her out of the way, but partially fall into the flames yourself doing so. Your left arm goes directly into the fire up to your elbow, and you "Ahhhh! ...ahh?" instinctively yell out, but your yell takes on a questioning tone and finally stops when your brain catches up with your body and you realize that you feel no pain. Thomas is immediately upon you, asking questions again while Dany and Matalarr look on.

    No, you don't know how it works, no you can't turn it on or off, (not that you'd want to) and no, you obviously can't just teach it to someone.

    The man's questions are annoying and unceasing but you know that you at least have something to keep him interested while you find a way to deal with him. It may, perhaps be something worth showing the "faithful" as well. If this fool has managed to keep control of them with mere words, a real miraculous ability demonstrated to them should help your claims of credibility when you attempt to take over. But that will be for another day, when you know the full extent of your sorcerous powers.

    The rest of the ride is uneventful, but you can see a gleam in Thomas' eyes nonetheless. Thankfully, the man isn't as good at hiding his emotions as he thinks, or you'd probably have fallen for his scheme just like all the others.​
    When you finally get to the gates of the city Thomas is strangely eager to leave your presence, but you are tired of him after three days of being in close quarters for hours on end. You bid him farewell and head home, eager to get a bath drawn and sleep in a real bed again. 'Strange, how quickly one can become accustomed to comfort.' you think, remembering when sleeping in a wagon would have been considered a blessing.

    The trip home from the city gates is quiet and uneventful, Matalarr watching the streets, ever alert for danger as you go. For a moment you remember the Scorpions and the Barons, but you are nowhere near that once disputed territory, and you have no idea who even is in charge of it at the moment, if either of the two groups managed to survive after that fateful showdown.

    Eventually you get to the gates of the manor. You can't help but smile at the sight of home. 'Home huh? Now that's something I often wondered if we would ever have," you think. You shake your head to clear the thoughts. You've been reminiscing about the past too much. Best to stay in the present and focus on moving into the future. You have much to do, but considering how long the journey was, there's nothing that can't hold off until tomorrow.

    ...You never do notice the shadow of the person who has been watching you since you arrived on this street.
    Couldn't sleep most of the night, kept tossing and turning and lying awake thinking so here's a short update. Of course now my body wants to fall asleep when I need to be awake... I hate jetlag. And I'm going to get it again soon as I go back to Japan. Which will of course be right after I've gotten over it here. Fuck me.

    • Guys, me asking the ladies here to help you out with gift ideas didn't mean just quit until they tell you what to buy... they might just let you guys figure it out on your own. I'd get discussing, because I'm not going to offer any ideas up. I'm just going to say "available" or "not available" to whatever you guys suggest. If no one thinks of any gift to give... Aegon doesn't think of any. That said, you still have time. But as anyone who has had a wife or girlfriend to give a gift before knows, procrastination on this kind of thing doesn't end well. Usually ends up with you getting a crappy last minute gift that she knows you didn't put thought into.

    Also, the more time you give to gift searching IC with your votes, the more high quality gifts available.

    The good thing about Braavos is that it is a city of merchants. Many things available for sale. But what nobody seems to be considering (since everyone keeps talking about how far away her birthday is) is that if you order something custom that takes time to make, not just buy.
