Sweet. Our named characters will become even more powerful.
Not really, Relics only do so much and @Durin scales them in comparison to the character and grade of relic, our sword gives us +3 combat, but that's because it is an artefact, the Hammer of the Storms gives +5 because its user is shit at combat, and the relics we bought don't even appear on character sheets because they are not that important on their own.

The stat boost from them also doesn't count towards paragon skills.

Basically relics do not solve any problems, they might help a little, but I'd rather build our relations with the Quartok than bother the Svastfar who have got hundreds of other commissions, especially when we're never going to buy enough off them to be practical for use on a larger scale.

@Durin, are relics truly that useless due to how powerful the characters are?
Allow me to rephrase, not useless, just not as big a boost as they were.

Our armour probably would give us a boost in combat as it is better in all aspects especially toughness, but its not enough on its own.

In addition it cost us 100 credits, not really practical especially since the other talyored relics are probably smaller.

The Svartsfar can manage because they've got access to vaults of tens of thousands of years and to advance it seems like an artisan has to make a relic, but that isn't taylored.

In addition the only ones who can "make" a relic on a semi consistent basis are grandmaster artisans who are quite rare.

We should get relic equipment for our elite units, like the phase tigers, primaris psykers and the super-elite operatives.

I have advocated to do Diplomatic Relations with the Quartok for serveral turns now. My plan still has it but popular beliefe seems to be that it is not important.

Its not the money its the time, it took the best of them a year to make our armour, smaller relics maybe less time, but that's not practical for large scale use, especially with the Astartes ramping up now.
We don't need it for large scale use. Just giving it to the best of our super-elites should be effective.

I really want to do both Diplomatic Relations (Quartok) and Divination or Focused Divination (Valinor Military/and or Ork Realms) to update our datasheet on what we now face with one realm taken out and what forces are fighting were. However if I can't get both I'll take the one.

Portec in my view the Mentoring actions are unimportant at this time. It would be much better to put Ridculy to seeing what the Orks and Valinor have right now so we're not working with out-of-date info on how much they have fighting each other, Dragons Nest, and us. If one or two are struggling we can them make a deal with Dragons Nest to deal with that faction. Can I talk you into swapping them out?

no, they just have a smaller stat effect, the biggest thing that makes relics useless is already having relics, the first couple of relics a character have can really make an impact but after that there is little change
especially of the low level Relic you can buy

On the other hand artefacts like the BCJ are always potent and relevant I guess?

Focussed divination is a two year action.
Not mentoring the Betas is bad as well...

I can put it in but would prefer to let Xavier do the mentoring and starting the department later.

Speaking of: I got no feedback on the prefered type of psyker department. Opinions?

Focussed divination is a two year action.
Greater Divition is one year action, even if it is bit more difficult.
And @Enjou - seriuosly, why are you doing Diplomatic Relations actions? We will reach relation level 10 with all Imperial Trust worlds in couple turns anyway barring terrible rolls or diplomatic fuck-ups, it's a waste of actions. It's not like we are going to do some large-scale trade deals soon and those are pretty much only things that care about difference betwen relation level 8 vs. relation level 9.

@Durin
1. How much access does Counselor Aryz have to Governor Rotbart?
2. Does he meet with Governor Rotbart?
3. Do they know about the state of the Galaxy with how many ork domains, chaos empires, and other minor xeno races have taken strong positions in the area?

This is the action I meant:
Focused Divination (Target, Area)- High Grandmaster Ridcully is almost as skilled at seeing the present as he is at predicting the future. This allows him to investigate specific aspects of one of the neighbouring nations, such as their military composition, leaders or even the best times to attack them.

Time: 2 years.
Chance of Success: 30%

Cost: 4,000,000 Thrones
Reward: Gain selected information on selected polity, location ect. The narrower the target the more information.
I set in Greater Divination instead and hope @Durin allows it.

I really dislike Enjou wasting Diplomacy actions and we really need to look into the Quartoks.

Mainly drawn to the diplomacy with the Quartok and spending time with the other governors.
@Portec
Not sure how I feel about researching Dragon Turtle Gas, I would prefer to start researching the Nugs. I think there might be some low hanging fruit there.
