Project: Gamer Ver. 2 (Young Justice/Gamer/Multicross OC)

"Decided against it, though. I'll be setting up targets and the ocean has too much drift to start with. Not to mention there might be zombie squids. Or sharks. Or Atlanteans." Alchemist almost sighed as they finally hit a clear spot and he slammed the brake. He just needed a second to get started but Zombie Jump City was a swarming mess. "I'm going to be doing tests. Which means I'm going to repeat the same thing, multiple times, while testing variables. And, honestly, it's easier for me to effect repairs on my targets than it would be to replace them."

Let me guess Wind Shear, Turbulence, and pretty much everything that has to do with Interactions between Temperature and Water, oh and also Interaction with Surface Tension if a Bullet moving that fast skims the water

I love Starfire instantly recognizing that Alchemist was talking about Starro and giving him some advice. XD
Starfire remains a gem.

Night begins to shine

The night begins to shine
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine

The night begins to shine (the night begins to shine)

The night begins to shine
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine (the night begins to shine)
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine (the night begins to shine)
I saw you dance
From the corner
I caught your name
In a conversation
Playing hard-to-get
But I can understand
When I look at you
I see the story in your eyes
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
Talk 'til dawn
My heart was racing
I took you home
In the driving rain
Had my mind made up
I wanna feel your touch
When I look at you
I see the story in your eyes
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
(Night begins to shine)
The night begins to shine
Had my mind made up
I wanna feel your touch
When I look at you
I see the story in your eyes
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
The night begins to shine
When we're dancing
The night begins to shine
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine (the night begins to shine)
Night begins to shine
The night begins to shine (the night begins to shine)
You only posted part of the lyrics. Here is the full thing.

I wonder if Starfire won't eventually be the primary source of a lot of the galactic details that eventually filter through to Batman. He'd probably love the chance to double check the information that he gets from the Lanterns.

I have no idea what Alchemist's Mecha body looks like but I'm imaging a Smaller Zaku 2 with a Black Color Scheme.

It would be interesting if the events of 'Crisis of Two Earths' happen in this reality instead of the 'Justice Lords' event. Although i think in the comic, the earth that was destroyed was a Zombie earth that could be this reality

If it's a bigger version of the original, it's the Ebony Armor set from Skyrim but ten meters tall and given a once-over by Obari for more dynamic proportions in his style, like lengthening the lower legs compared to the thighs and generally making it more like a proper anime mecha.

Its also made of Darksteel instead of Ebony (so matte black), has Xth Metal trim and runic filigree (shiny, silvery blue), and has a half sphere of ruby with suspended Ebony flakes embedded in the back of each hand and the center of the front chest.

So this ten meter tall suit of full plate armor is all but conceptually indestructible, with extra conceptual for its everything, and can deploy large, bullshit strong bubble shields. On top of applying ridiculous multipliers across the board.

Hmmm, I do recall Starfire's planet in this cartoon, but I do not know how recall her often VERY Crazy sector state is. Thanks to the orange 'corps' there.

Any chance of the MC deciding to go for a 2 for 2 in helping the teen titans with problems that should had used the whole justice league (even if just for moral support for the poor kids)?

a funny thought is that sector is outside the green corps aegis, so He could truly go big :D

Will Al stop by HIVE with his party? I am sure something will happen, like questions on how he knew where it was located?

Ah, I forgot that in ch 357 player one was going to ask to use the tank again wonder if they will. Does not seem like anyone reset to level one yet like they were planningin that chapter. Though I guess our boy is just getting set up and needs the level capped to keep variables down for the testing. Make me wonder, if they are going to be blowing up another Zombie earth at the end how many levels was it worth.

The last line is cyborg cutting loose.Next chapter starts with him cleaning a building in half with his axe.I can already see Trigon appearing in the future and "you the one" starts playing

And, before him, farther than the human eye could see, a perfect semi-circle had been carved through the street, through the forests and through the mountains. Impossibly long and smooth, it went from Jump City, California all the way east and into Nevada.
So I did a lot of math, and that sort of works assuming your zappity-zap path is a cone, not a cylinder, and the apex angle is about 0.5 degrees. Things to bear in mind include, the curvature of the Earth and the ballistic path of the bullets (with real bullets, NOT a straight line). The terrain (based on random map purporting to show location of Jump City and real elevation map of California) goes quite sharply up for that first 75 miles which was the target distance mentioned earlier. That means it's possible some portion of that path will be a tunnel instead of a valley. If it was a cylinder not a cone, then this would be much more problematic. You mention going across California into Nevada, which would be 400 miles or so. While it goes across the Great Valley your beam will probably be hitting nothing but air unless you aim down a tad (I didn't do the math on that). If you do aim down, that means more tunnel less valley earlier on.

If your cone apex angle is much larger, you run into problems like breaking into the mantle of the Earth. If it is smaller, (and maybe already?) then you run into problems of firing down a tunnel (bullets hitting the top of the tunnel, lack of light).

What is the Earth Curvature variable here? Is it possible to clear that much space with a straight beam?

75 miles straight horizontal, .71 miles down. There are mountains higher than that in California. 400 miles horizontal, 20 miles down. At 35 miles down (give or take) you hit the mantle and the rock starts getting a little hot and runny, lol.

I'm just ignoring stuff like "what happens to the vaporised rock?" because magic doesn't have to explain shit. :p

I guess it could be straight-up disintegrated into nothing.

For the case of 400 miles, here's a diagram. If you fire a straight line from one point (A) to 400 miles away horizontally (B) then the surface of the Earth (if it was perfectly smooth) is 20 miles down (C). The difference between the curve and the nearest straight line means (if it was smooth) a tunnel from A to C would go a maximum of 5.1 miles under the surface.

NOT TO SCALE!

My argument, underneath of everything else, is about prevention.

And I am 100% with you about prevention being MUCH better than 'repair', not least because of the millions and millions of deaths involved the last time this bullshit managed to get to it's feet and in control of an entire nation.

I just don't have any faith that prevention can do much at this point to avert a re-run of that war. Theoretically, yes, it could be done, but in the current 'RL' timeline we regretfully find ourselves in? No, I have no faith that the alleged opposition to the current 'more power to me and my hangers-on, no matter the cost ('cause I won't be paying that anyway)' trash* that are the Right parties of the Anglophone world and likely beyond.

Maintaining and educating people on the horrors of the Nazi and other Axis regimes, as well as all of the war crimes and atrocities the Allies perpetrated themselves, is a laudable goal and one I fully support/promote myself. But that doesn't mean you have to use their names or continue to support whatever is left of their legacies. Remove their names from history, except for when it is directly connected to the deliberately murderous and evil machine that was the Nazi regime, it's actions, statements and actual legacy. Let them be much like the perpetrators of mass-shootings or similar mass-murder, only refer to them as 'just another asshole', and prevent any traction from the Right to turn them into heroes for fascist everywhere to heap praise on.

(*) Whether they call themselves 'the GOP', Tories or whatever it's ultimately irrelevant. They are all eager little wanna-be fascists at this point, with the occasional exception that is already an out and out fascist. And they aren't at all limited to only the English-speaking nations either, I just don't have enough exposure to what's going on outside of that sphere to say more than 'there's at least a couple of other nations with the same problem, only worse'.

What was done throughout the axis forces were heinous and horrific. And yet, before the ink proclaiming peace had even started to dry, people were trying to bury the facts.

Because of Power and general xenophobia. Which was kind enough to also give us such lovely, durable gifts as Henry Kissinger and his ilk.

I've toured the Jinmei Communist internment camp in Taipei.

Oof! I imagine that was exceedingly fucking GRIM, to say the least. After the Chinese Civil War, anti-communist feelings were running pretty damn high and savage, I expect.

Anti-ally propaganda is still in circulation in the middle east. It's been redrawn a bit to fit whichever theater of war is currently active but, if held up side by side to what the Nazi party was using? It's still nearly identical.

Depressing but only slightly surprising, sadly. After all, the actions of the political Right have been increasingly blatant for decades now on how much they either want to institute the same kind of governance/hellish life as the actual Nazis prior to and during WWII.

One modern day example is the intentional misdiagnosing of women with autism. Rather than properly diagnose a woman with ASD, a distressingly large percentage of caregivers will instead slap them with the label of BPD and then drug them into silence.

Ahh, the kyriarchy at work. Isn't it glamorous?

Why are they doing this? What is the logic behind this? What is the overarching goal?

And there has to be some overarching goal considering this specific issue isn't isolated to one county, or one country, but has been caught out as an international practice.

Mostly just multiple people either in power or believably within reach of it no longer bothering keep the mask on any longer, to be anything other than what they have long been behind the mask.. Awful and unimaginative people in the same spot are going to act to enable themselves further in much the same ways after all.

Which isn't to say there is no-one trying to spread those ideas far and wide in less open ways for purely their own benefit (and anyone else's is simply a side-effect, but can still be quite useful). Look most closely to Darth Rupert, the Merde-Orc for an excellent example of that kind.

In a very Hanlon's razor way: there is misogyny everywhere and it isn't orchestrated or engineered. It's just people (usually men, but often enough women and non-binary people) being shitty.

Hence the reason I find the Kyriarchy to be a much more useful an accurate label than just 'the Patriarchy'. Kyriarchy contains the patriarchy, but also covers multiple other axes of oppression, even if they contradict each other, seemingly or actively. As long as those with some power find it useful, they will support and strengthen this. And once it no longer suits them, either in part or in whole, the powerful will discard any parts that they no longer find effective or useful for their own desires.

This. Drugging people into silence is easier and simpler than actually helping them, and since many cultures portray women as "overly emotional" and "irrational" it's relatively easy to get away with.

This isn't saying that the problem isn't real or "isn't that bad." It's saying that it's even worse.

THIS: Drugging people into silence is easier and simpler than actually helping them

A lot of the time if anyone feels the need to argue in favour of these symptoms, they'll claim it's actually cheaper to do things this way, but they are either deluding themselves or deliberately lying, because it's almost never true outside of extremely tightly-targeted 'examples'. And even in the rare cases that it happens to be true, that isn't actually relevant to why they support such systems. The cruelty is the point, after all.

"Bye, mom," Yuffie whispered before she raised her head and closed the doors of the shrine. "Love you."

Awww...❤️

So she decided to pester her dad, instead.

Ha!

Starfire felt rather giddy as they were allowed into Friend Alchemist's home. She was most looking forward to the 'Letting loose'. Especially with the blade strapped to her hip.

Once again you demonstrate that you have Kori's characterisation nailed down, and that she's so much more than the 'space bimbo' that so many discount her as. ❤️

To be fair, DC have repeatedly portrayed her as just/only that in print.

A man and a woman could commit the same crime and they would get very different punishments. An observation to which Starfire had yet to find a clear and concise explanation behind.

Ahh, and here we have an excellent example of the kyriarchy in our story itself!

Starfire claimed the most glorious and flavorful Orange whilst taking the odious Cherry for Friend Beastboy.

He knew what he did.

Does he though Star? Have you actually clearly communicated that to him? (Besides, I'd take Cherry over Orange any day, and I'm pretty certain I've never done anything to arouse her ire, ever! ;)

The anger, the attitude, the threats of violence...

It was the most adorable thing she'd seen on Earth!

See above, re: on-point characterisation.

"...Why in the world would you need a weapon that can shoot something two counties away?" Cyborg asked, his voice somehow even despite the incredulous tone underlying his question.

Aww, you can see they're adapting to Al and his shenanigans! Slowly, but adapting nonetheless!

Until Fate runs afoul of al they will underestimate him (up until he ruins the helmed gits millennium)

Nobu really could use a few gigaton-level thwacks with the Clue-bat(tm).

Also, Alchemist is now technically a 40k battlecruiser.

Nah, he needs to have boarding torpedoes as well to properly qualify. :D

Starfire remains a gem.

Much like her portrayal in the TT show, she is always a delight.

... should Alchemist introduce StarFire with Dex-Starr?

Gods, no! Why would you even think about subjecting a poor, innocent ex-Red Lantern to such horrors?!

So this ten meter tall suit of full plate armor is all but conceptually indestructible, with extra conceptual for its everything, and can deploy large, bullshit strong bubble shields. On top of applying ridiculous multipliers across the board.

Galactus: GO BIG OR GO HOME.
Alchemist, leaning down and LOOMING over Purple-G's shoulder: I thought you said to 'GO BIG', little G?

Wonder if Jinx will think to check if the x-suit is here in the zombie id.

I wonder how well the X-suit will survive a few trips through the autoclave? I certainly wouldn't be willing to wear one taken from a Zombie-world without at least 3-5 trips to sanitise it properly.

Let me guess Wind Shear, Turbulence, and pretty much everything that has to do with Interactions between Temperature and Water, oh and also Interaction with Surface Tension if a Bullet moving that fast skims the water

Let me just put this here...

Muzzle Velocity: The 30mm rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1066 m/s (more than three times the speed of sound)

If I multiplied that by 120? Those bullets would be traveling mach 360. 127,920 meters per second. That would do more to change up the amount of damage they do than the size multiplier.

Let me just run those numbers real quick. Alright?

Kinetic Energy = .5xMV^2. So KE =.5x(395)(127,920)^2
...3231796464 J

One pound of TNT releases 189,800 J of energy, for a reference.

Oh, right. Hang on a second. There was also a mass multiplier enchantment. Gravity Bow. Right. Multiply the mass by 120.
KE = .5x(47400)(127920)^2
KE = 387815575680 J
Every bullet fired, if the range extension enchantment enhanced velocity as well, would be equal to 2,043,285.435616438 pounds of TNT. That is, 926818.68332774261944 KG of TNT.

I'm going to nip this in the bud. The damage output is going to remain ridiculous, just less so. The Distance Enchantment does not increase velocity. It extends the range of a ranged weapon by preserving the momentum of its projectile until it reaches the new limit, at which point the projectile is affected by external forces as normal.

Distance

This property can only be placed on a ranged weapon. A weapon of distance has double the range increment of other weapons of its kind.

Moderate divination; CL 6th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, clairaudience/clairvoyance; Price +1 bonus.

I discussed this with a DM at work and we both agreed that, while still a very useful and valuable enchantment, if it was doing double duty and covering the damage increase that came from Gravity Bow? It would be a more expensive enchantment.

...And we're just going to come right back around to this once things get improved via Item World but, well, that's the trap I've set for myself.
