i was already rooting for Qoren, but this locked him in for me. despite their different talents and life experiences, they're both dreamers with big ambitions.

I imagine the make up of our court and ladies will actually be a major political concern and something to negotiate as part of our marriage. If the goal is to bring Dorne truly into the Iron Throne's domain with this marriage, we will need to grant court positions to prominent Dornish ladies as part of sweetening the deal. But we also need to avoid overly favouring them - an issue that in canon is part of what leads to the Blackfyre Rebellion. Its a fine line to tread.

But yes, I think it would do us a lot of good if we could make a friend out of a Dornish woman and add her to our court. Perhaps, and this is really really speculating here we could arrange a marriage between Gwayne and a landed Dornish woman who is invited to court. Otto won't inherit any lands really, and giving his son a landed wife (even if the children would take her name) would actually be quite a nice favour to him.

Qoren has never been my top choice, but I don't think the Harwin Strong match is something that will win out amongst this crowd and Qoren is the much more ambitious and probably messier variant of Harwin. As a staunch anti-Laenor match I'm more enticed by the never happening Tyland idea even though its horrible.

The Qoren match is going to be messy. It will involve the most negotiation on matters of state and the like and will have the most negative reaction from our subjects and these are major concerns. However we do have time, and we may be able to remedy some, and if he is too ambitious in negotiation we do have the ability to select elsewhere, which I suspect at this point would be Gwayne amongst our electorate.
 
You know for all I'm voting to turn him down I am slowly coming round to voting yes. Feels a betrayal of my boy Laenor. But god he fucking ace'd his dice roll against the audience...

I think marriage with Qoren is a good choice only if Dorne joins the Seven Kingdoms, if Dorne remains independent I will prefer Laenor

To add to this- conflict with Daemon has been baked in since character creation. if we didn't want to tangle with Uncle Creeper/Caraxes, we shouldn't have gone with Buff Rhaenyra

I should note that Johanna was literally just saying what she would do if she were Rhaenyra, Tyland was not a serious option. It's an option, but like, most unmarried men are an option.
