The Path Unending (A Cultivation Quest)

[X] A bull charging across an open field.

Kong Zhi is very bullheaded when he wants to, this is the most fitting shape for him to take.

The 'weight of ages' makes it feel like this is Time anam, but not Time anam like we're familiar with. Now we choose what tech to incorporate it into, I guess.
While "weight of ages' is a very Time-like phrase, the scene as a whole reads much more Dream-like to me. Those also take inspiration from the past, and the whole 'stuff changing before your eyes and becoming part of you' thing is also something dreams do. Considering that the Anam feels 'bad', it could also plausibly be Nightmare.

I also don't think it is Time because, well, the scene doesn't really remind me of the past Time Cycling scenes. Which could be easily explained by this whole situation being very bad juju, but if this was Time Anam, I would expect Zhi to go through his forms in chronological order, and not Hunter=>Ferryman=>Tiaoyue=>Twink.

We're adding Time to a technique, yeah? Northern Aurochs Onslaught and Warhound's Cry are both more complicated techniques with multiple aspects, but Sear is basically the simplest possible technique; an offensive Fire attack with nothing else to speak for it. Adding Time to one of the others would mean it has less effect against the comparative weight of the more complete technique, but adding Time to Sear would give us a direct offensive Time technique, which is potentially a fearsome weapon. I'm imagining something like Balefire, which retroactively burns someone away. Of course, we don't know just how amazing it'll be before we do it, but... I like the idea of finding out a lot more than the other options.

Its one of our most meaningful techs storywise, but has fallen by the wayside in terms of strength and usefullness. I'd prefer to bring it bacl to the limelight. Especially since the auroch was already evolved once this trip.

For the fire tech id prefer to evolve it with smoke, steel or time. We explicitly do not know what kind of anam this is.

Oh, this update was fun. Lots of stuff to analyze and digest here. It seems we're up against a kukuni of some kind, from the looks of it, so that's good to know at least. The day repeating over and over again makes sense with that, as a kukuni trying to repeat its moment would explain why this is happening.

The technique we got so long ago from Nokai needs some love.

On one hand we finally have the pills we need to integrate it as is. On the other it was still pretty down the list of priorities anyway. So whatever this adds we can get is sorted in time to integrate it anyway.

Hmm I want to go with this one.
Our core is named the Eternal Forge yeah?
So a Fire/time technique sounds very fitting.

The Broken Emissary piece received some attention in this update, here's some relevant info on it from when it was introduced.
Notably, the Broken Emissary looks like a lot of pieces of glass. Perhaps like a mirror being shattered...? Maybe that's what attracted Zhi to that piece in the first place. Not very relevant to the current situation, but neat!

Counterpoint, if this is recycling time it might feel bad in a 'stagnant' sense.
Like drinking month old milk.

We did talk about this very situation way back when severing this tech from its original anam properties;

-We needed a techs matching our core; relatively simple enough to catch up before the tourney arc back in the sect.

-Putting this foreign anam on the Warcry would boost it up yes, but that would mean moving it's integration sched someways up the chain unless we really devoted even more actions on cycling.

On the otherhand- this might not be time anam which will mean tracking another anam source for us to cultivate.

In other news, we made Aunty Bi proud again by wrestling and taking in foreign anam :D

I don't really feel that comfortable with infusing time anam into a sound tech (Symphony in Rags really doesn't need tobe paid homage to) , particularly since this is a technique that is a big deal to Nokai and which she gifted to us.
