[X] Plan: (don't) Finish the Note, Awaken the Daughter, Anti-Chaos Symphony

Finally making some more GR, still should make more for shade measure next turn, but still glad we are finally getting this done.

do they have counter scrying? i'm pretty sure we were cannot be blocked, but harm to our choirs is still a thing like with gazing at the tyranids
If we don't go with that, sticking with the geographical distribution of Orks through post-cognition backtracing might be a good idea, but I also struggle to see how this would be useful in the current moment.

Edit:
Ah, we could find out what happened to Crucible of Bile?
Or maybe go dig out more STC Fragments? I don't want to go on more Expeditions though...

what's the plan for We Were next turn?
I'd Personally like to look back 300000ish(+43000) years ago in theThe East African Rift where humanity originates IIRC, sat around for 100000 years before starting to migrate and spread out to the rest of the world 200000(+43000) years ago

i want to see some human history before the emperor, IDKW
we had looked into the origins of other federation members, and seen big E's life, now we see human history that predates big E all the way until his birth? like we had reincarnating sorcerers before they ritualed themselves into their final reincarnation of big E, let's see what we can learn from them

maybe we auto learn some melodies or gain a song/symphony
The Sun V
Humanity III
we have sun up to the fifth level, but we don't have Humanity at the Star Child's holy/sacred number so . . . an improvement across the entire list of songs that use humanity as a melody would be nice

are we going to look at DAoT stuff and copy everything we can for our star mechanicus?
I'd be fine with that, but every charge we've used on that gave us more Expeditions so far, and I don't want to spend Actions on that?

Edit:
1) Ork geographical distribution (back/forward tracing through precognition)
2) STC Fragment location (based off that one STC Fragment we had way back, and the Rejuvenat one)
3) DaoT something (note: likely result is more Expedition Sites)
4) Calculated Consecration Tech
5) Pre-Emperor Humanity
6) Other Xeno species out there, possibly related to #3
7) Crucible Of Bile
8) Eldar/Necrons/War-In-Heaven/Gods (no)
9) Something Else Entirely: Which sounds good to the thread?

*Sad Star-Mechanicus noises*
well de don't neet to send a military force if we scry how things worked in the past correct?
i guess it'll depend on how HeroCooky implements "spy on DAoT scientist/engineers following step by step guide on how their shit works and how to put it all together"

maybe is a free search with AP, so 3 locations scouted, or it could only target 1 place, IDK

I've done the math - it's possible to do a Grand Design+Cry turn that has 13 research actions & 2 Grand Note turns in it. Not bad.
Ooooh.

Mmmmmmmm. That's interesting.

We've got... 4 more updates until the quest ends. If we're forced to only have one real big research rush, then we might be forced to choose between Null Thoughts and our other research.

And honestly, being real for a moment, that other research is looking really good right now.

-[] Minaturized Knight Teleporter (0/5)
(Gain: Knights can now enact tactical teleports.)
-[] Novel Material Research (0/3)
(Gain: Gained through the visions of We Were, translated into reality by frustrating application of brute-force-reserach.)
-[] Squire War-Walkers (0/5)
(Gain: Smaller Armigers, practically larger Dreadnougths, though these do not depend on a soldier on the verge of death being interred within.)

With Works generational, that's 8 research actions. We can snag a few others if need be, but these are IMO the critical ones. (Terminator armor is pretty big because it's fantastic for close-in stuff or boarding operations, which we might need the Lamenters to do for Norn Queen Assassination Operations or something, and the Imperium while probably recovering a lot of its secrets originally had it basically nearly lost, so being able to proliferate it would be huge for certain special operations. Getting anti-Daemon Templars are also a great option too. The simple option of upgrading our Infantry equipment again isn't bad either.)

These are the Grand Designed version of our current researches that we likely snagged off the Tau, and they are filthily good for what they are, if we're worried about our ground game against Tyranids.

Novel Material Research is pretty big, because it's good for like... our everything? While our matsci was equivalent to our M42 stuff, I believe that was also with Faith and psytech closing the gap. If it's not and just plain equivalent, it's still not a bad thing because we likely pulled this off their M43 things, so... yeah.

Fio'tak / Novel Material Research is the big thing here, especially if we got upgraded versions of it. Fio'tak is like Space Marine Ceramite but just... better, because it's both light as hell and also pretty cheap, it's apparently like plasteel to the Imperium in terms of its proliferation amongst the Tau. They use it in everything, and so can we -- if everything is cheaper and lighter, we can squeeze in more protection, more equipment, more weapons. Anyone who's played BattleTech slavers for weight savings and more slots. It's a qualitative upgrade to literally everything. Just being able to transport more because everything weighs less is huge.

Miniaturized Knight Teleporter is enormous because it just says straight up "knights can tactically teleport now." Which to be frank is fucking disgusting -- packs of 9-12 meter tall war machines literally being able to teleport around is just awful to contemplate? Boop there goes your synapse unit. And more importantly, it's not in psytech. So it'll likely be unaffected by the Shadow of the Warp.

And finally... Squire Dreadnoughts. Which is also really big because like... if we have Power Armor (Light), this skips right past to like Battle Armor / ProtoMechs. It gives our Infantry the option to punch way, way up, operate Knight-grade equiment while much smaller -- like, say, that teleporter.

These give our ground game some really big aces in the hole, and honestly if I had to choose between Null Thoughts and these I'd have to make some real hard choices.

Anyways, for boring We Were choices, there's always examining the full history of human mathematics and programming. Being able to look at stuff from the ground up might bring some insights, and we'd learn a lot about Binharic, the Cult Mechanicus, and appeasing Machine Spirits from that too I figure.

Otherwise, looking into other curiosities like the Republic of Asharru to finally found out what the hell's going on with them. Or the Clans, because the Integration Timer is after the quest end.

> Look at the full history of humanity's development of math and programming, with focus on Machine Spirit awakening if time permits after that.
Something like this? Let me know the appropriate wording and I will edit things accordingly, since I am in the mood for boring but practical rn given our lack of spare Actions if we want to Research?

(As for those who want to do Titans, it would be a lot easier to push for that if we had Sketches and Descriptions available for the larger ones?)

Yeah, that looks fine. Tau Tech Looting showing us that we can actually loot tech, if brute forced in some ways, is really nice -- sometimes we can get it direct-to-application like with the Ion Weaponry.

ME: we can use We Were to look back at all the human languages that had existed
also ME: use We Were to discover Enuncia
my common sense: 😑Stupid

@Neablis You forgot to put We Were on something.
Fixed. Put it on the Orks.

Yes - but I feel like doing it repeatedly is a quick way to get Herocooky to snap at us, especially as we get closer to dangerous topics. Also - we already did DaoT tech?

History of the Orks, where did they come from exactly and how did they come to be? Can we gleam anything from them psychically, biologically, or technologically?
Isn't this wording likely to get us in trouble with Krork nonsense (or War In Heaven if we look back hard enough) though? At least the 'math and programming, with side dish of Machine Spirit Awakening' one is likely to be safe.

I think that's a fair cop. My speculation is that We Were's effects scale differently depending on focus -- we get a broad look versus looking really hard at a specific focus of something.

That being said, I think so long as we don't look too hard at the Aeldari or the Necrons or similar, we'll be fine, but honestly yeah, looking at actionable intelligence in our local area doesn't seem like a bad idea.

I was really only looking at math + programming because it does seem to be safe enough scrying-wise, but if you think other things are worth it I'm fine -- I'm not really making any plans at the moment.

That's not the wording used though: The wording for that would more be "geographical location of currently and historically known threats (ask Mashan and Duchy for starting points) not named Tyranids or Chaos through post-cognition back and forwards in time until the present"?

Let Vera have a sister.

Let the cries be that of jubilation and not that of loss.

For soon this second night will end. And come with it a eternal dawn.
