The flash of a muzzle in the dark, a young man falling to his clutching at his chest as blood pools though layers of white linen and brown rugged wool, bright brass buttons are tarnished forever as the light goes out from his eyes in disbelief. A much younger Cristos stands over him holding an antique pistol—not so antique for the this hour before dawn on the rocky shore of of the Peloponnese, you know instinctively— The dying man tries to say something, a secret clawing to get out of his chest, but blood steals his voice and shock sends him under, never to reveal that the duel had been meant to be rigged from the start, just a game meant to prove the the authorities that the two men were not allied with the rebels in the mountains, that they were as they seemed foolish youths inheriting too much of their parents coin.
But young Cristos too had seen with eyes more than mortal that once would have marked him as a priest of Apolo or by that god cursed. He knew that nothing but the death of Andreas, for that was the name he would carve into the headstone in three days hence, would convince the commander of the Turkish garrison of their innocence. One or the other must die by shot or both would be hanged and the seer dared not reveal what he had seen, for magic feared and hated greatly or so he told himself. He had been willing to risk death for the freedom of his people, but not to embrace it. The choice had been no choice at all and it had been magic that tipped the scales even though no spell had been cast in the killing.
Is he even being bad cop on purpose? I mean addressing her as girl in this conte is rude, but remember who we're dealing with here.Yeah, he's clearly not trying to be confrontational (since he's not an idiot and definitely knows who Molly is), he's trying to see where Molly's coming from.
Heck, you could even see this as him setting Molly up for the verbal spike, in a certain light. He's playing the bad cop so everyone else can know what they're dealing with.
[X] Answer as a Queen
There's more to this answer than how it holds together about the topic at hand. How we reply will set the tone for how we're seen by the council at large because this will be the first time we formally address them.
Since we want diplomatic relations with them on behalf of the FCF and to work together for mutual ideological goals on the world stage we should probably make that impression first.
Just out of curiosity, what do either/both of you think of the stunt I put in? @BronzeTongue in particular, I think it makes the sort of impression you're wanting us to make here, is there anything about it that either of you aren't convinced on?
Okay is there anything that can be done to remedy that because the size characteristics are based off of Zweihanders? Would making it a splendor help, a higher Prodigy rating or is this just not makeable at this time? The Armor's fine, but the sword is a Daiklaive by another name. You cannot make those with mortal magic, the physics of the thing means that it would be slower and it would also unbalance the user

Okay So maybe something like this?I think the system could bear if it was STR+4 and the -1 to Damage rolls was only for large characters, that is things with at least half their wounds coming from extra size. It would not give you a bonus against Harry who just gets one more wound form being larger than average, but something like a dragon would work.
I quite like it, and have no issues with it. Apologies, I was very busy today and unable to comment.Just out of curiosity, what do either/both of you think of the stunt I put in? @BronzeTongue in particular, I think it makes the sort of impression you're wanting us to make here, is there anything about it that either of you aren't convinced on?
Not even trying to change your minds necessarily, just genuinely wondering if there's some sort of issue with it that I've missed.
Of course, take whatever time you needWould you guys mind terribly if I left this until tomorrow? Between not sleeping well last night, the reason I did not sleep well and this being a pretty complex chapter I think it might be best to handle this in the morning with a clear head.
You convinced me to return to my previous vow.[X] Answer as a Queen
I think the lead-up to this given our political allies was pretty clear-ish. We learned from Carlos they think the Knights are suckers, and from Cristos even the faint link to Lawbreaking is a deep, dark, awful secret. This is not the time to bring up the issue of Molly's past crimes.
Especially because given most wizards think 'old Maeve or new Maeve is always Maeve', a lot of them will 'press x to doubt' that our mortal past matters anyway and view it as a cynical manipulation rather than sincere.
To that end, I'm very dubious on the stunt, but admittedly it's reasonably vague at least and it's probably past going for something else.
I have no problem with that, besides, a chapter done when calm and relaxed is better than one done when stressed.Would you guys mind terribly if I left this until tomorrow?
