The way I see the vote is using a canon character or using MR.Meme of the I can build it argument where the quest will then proceed to SCIENCE things from Mr.Meme's universe into star wars without trying to play the diplomacy game.

If that's the wrong take and the side against Jar Jar does not intend to SCIENCE, shrug, my mistake.

Well the thing I am hoping for, is the simple fact you will like the style of how you all are going to manage your government, and how to get laws passed.

Because there was a system I created whole heartedly for this quest, based on a system I never really got to use due to unfortunate circumstances.

Its why there are going to be two turns, dedicated and otherwise to how you govern, and how to get laws passed.

Because, unlike other quests, I have decided one thing.

You must have success to continue governing with the support of your constituents and political allies. Its why I'm using legitimacy as one of the main stats.

Unlike real life where the people in power just ignore the common man until its time to get their votes. :V

Are you referring to me specifically, or does "you" refer to the questers in general? Because I haven't been clamoring for votes in this quest.
I had Lord Bane in mind who I accidentally mistook you for, but I meant in general.

I should probably sleep. I'm not even reading correctly anymore lol.

Edit:

I thought the original main point of Jar Jar was to fuck over Palpatine by having him get beat out by the most incompetent person Palps knows.

Which is why a Populism Mechanic exists.

After all, this quest's Supposed to save the Republic, not leave it in darkness.

nd how to get laws passed.

Will players be allowed to submit laws to be considered as actual law proposals in-quest?

Maybe that's someone else's reason for voting Jar Jar. Mine is for "no meta bullshit like trying to add transformers cause this one guy had it in HIS setting so we gotta do it", Jar Jar fits the profile of the idealist, and the idealist diplomat has a Goal established the others do not have that they're whimsical wanderers with nobody in the thread saying what the OC non-idealist should stand for, from what I can tell.

Yep. And its why I'm working so damn hard to make it entertaining as well.

Because lets be honest. poor mechanics that don't serve the story sucks.

And I have been guilty of that in quests a few times. Hopefully I learned enough to do it better.

Yes.

But not until the actual turn.

and they have to fit the star wars universe, so no just copying and pasting existing laws.

I enjoy the thought of Palpatine spending the next decade seeing Jar Jar at the spot that was supposed to be his and asking himself "How?" before downing a glass of wine and asking for more.

I also enjoy the idea of being Jar Jar and unfucking the Republic's bureaucracy by virtue of Jar Jar being a citizen of Naboo who never wants another planet to be forced to wait for aid and protection from the galaxies monsters while the republic argues.

Lastly Maul is far from Palpatine's only force strong assassin and I would prefer to have an extra layer of isolation from his machinations, which the idealist trait grants.

also maybe we can recruit Padme as our political aid by virtue of good relationship and Palpatine remaining the Naboo ambassador? it seems like it would be a fun route to go down, though I'll have to see what Magoose has planned.

God I hope every vote of the quest is like this. If people of either "side" leave because their candidate didn't win it'll be tragic.

Meesa knows what it's like to be alone... Messa never want anyone else'a to feel alone again!

Meesa knows what it's like to be alone... Messa never want anyone else'a to feel alone again!

"Meesa knows what itza like to be alone.." Behind Jar Jar, is a Holographic Presentation showing Jar Jar's earlier days. "Alone, unwanted. Butsa did not stop! Meesa thrown out of home! I went overland! Searching for food, shelter, and fire! It broughtsa troubles, notsa single person caring - always throwing me out! Did notsa stop me! I foundsa friends!" Besides a baffled Palpatine, the senate looks at the empowering speech with tears in their eyes. "And, fellow people of the Senate, I seeka new age where we can becoume accountable to the people that havsa been mistreated, unappreciated, unloved, uncared, every single ona them!" Shouts of cheering and clapping is heard from the background, with Palpatine only keeping his look of shock. "We will builda new age! You, Every Person of the Republic, and I! Together we can buildsa world!" Palpatine turns his head to a nearby tv to see news anchors crying in this passioned speech by his never discovered enemy.

"H-how can this be?!" Palpatine wonders to himself, his mind swirling at how..this one passed through him!

I for one welcome the Binks administration, may it be highly comedic.

I mean, I still wanna fight the Hutt clans for the slavery stuff so we could get that instead of the clone wars.

Also just as a side bar, but I think it's important to remember that Jar Ja's speech is only "impaired" in relation to translating himself from his native tongue into galactic Basic, and even then, only by the sometimes arbitrary standards of formal Basic rhetoric as viewed by Coruscant. There's even an ultimately cut scene that was planned in Episode II where Binks was to be embarrassingly knocked out of his refined senatorial register and jumping into his classic accent again in the excitement of reuniting with Anakin and Obi Wan.

In terms of his own interiority thinking in his own mind, Jar Jar should be downright elegant.

The only reason that Jar Jar has this much votes is because most of the writers are making funny stories about him. Its funny how we can go from overanalyzing the choices and have 1,000 word essays on how X effects Y to get our best Plan of Action to electing our neighborhood crackhead into office because we found it funny.

electing our neighborhood crackhead into office because we found it funny.

The man's also great around kids, he's found to be a Street Performer on Naboo by the time of Post-Endor (a successful one at that) and apparently got an apprentice to pass on the art of Performing.

Would be interesting to do some Child Care, Welfare, etc. acts as a homage to that.

impossible. Sorry but Papa Palps will still fuck things up behind the scenes.

Jar Jar, despite his many issues...

is still possible, besides a few candidates that we have created... can be a great thing... and not a clusterfuck that will destroy the republic.

Jar Jar's also got a few personal issues he'd like to do.

Shoot, more Jar Jarians are needed.

The Jar Jar Coalition needs more assistance from you, fellow Senators. Come and join the cause to create a better Republic than the previous administrations.
