Try to survive the Winter: A planquest in Fantasy Colonial America

So, I have been wondering if we can get more info on the planetary governor quest.
First post :
Choose what sort of experience our character, one of the lesser scion of a noble ruling family, has : Imperial guard general, Administratum clerck, Mechanicus adept, Lord of a lesser holding, Inquisitorial acolyte, Criminal boss...
Choose the planet you came from, and will now rule, with a storm-wracked Hive world, overpopulated and using the storm as a source of power, a penal-mining world were convict break rocks and nobles rules from orbit, a death-paradise worlds were the powerfull enjoy tropical beach ressorts will the people risk their lives collecting precious reagents in the deadly continental jungles, or a polluted ocean world were farmers grown poissonous alguaes to serve as food and be converted into fuel.
Choose why the upper leadership of the planet was eliminated so you may claim power : ork invasion, civil war, inquisitorial purge...

Then, from turn to turn, a constant balancing act beetween (too many) factions and (too few) ressources, with the constant pressure of the tithe and greater Imperial institutions looming over you.

I will be honest Storm Hive world sounds great, and so does ocean world. (mostly because the idea of fixing the environment of the planet is appealing to me)

As for the character, I am split everything other than criminal lord has an appeal to me, Mechanicus adept is very tempting for the research, but cogboi aren't know for being good with the diplomacy.

As for reason for the loss of leadership, inquisitorial purge sounds interesting, but I am more partial to ork invasion for the ability to train our forces on the feral orks
