we need to reduce Daemon's influence there anyway, and if we work at it we can definetly get gwayne on our side for when the dance kicks off. with alicent+gwayne, we have a little more wiggle room with Otto, and can maybe bring the Hightowers as a whole over

Good to know, and if a command position in the city watch was good enough for Ser Harwin Strong, heir to Harrenhal, then it is good enough for Gawyne as well...

Besides that, I have taken a liking to Gawyne, he is a stand-up fellow and I would like to see more of him, and I am sure Alicent will appreciate having his big brother around...

If we want to command the Watch ourselves, it will do to have it staffed by trusty men (men who owe their standing to us, personally, even) and not perfidious Westermen or Daemon's bought stooges.

Plus, honoring his brood twice in rapid succession might make Otto more amenable to our Big Ask in the second part of this turn.

EDIT: I am not opposed to, additionally, swearing an oath—I understood the options to be exclusive.

Really want to do the oath, but if the majority wants to get him into the watch, then I'm happy with doing both.

Is there a position that would have him travel back home and also stay close to us?
Can we make up a new position? Land surveyor for building or roads? Something to promote Trade?
