The concern is that if the Velaryon's marry Viserys, the only other dragon riders we'll have in a potential dance against them are Rhaenyra's kids. And Laeana/Laenor/Rhaenys are a bit heavier weighted on dragons than Rhaenyra alone, with how much we've pissed off daemon.

...there is also another concern. If Daemon is our enemy, and Laena is married to him like in canon, we could still end up with the Velaryons and their dragons on the enemy side of any future Dance.

Good reason to stop Laena from getting Vhagar this time around. Still have no idea how that happened in canon.

Isn't Vhagar like, in the dragonpit or on dragonstone? Can't guards capable of stopping a twelve years old girl from entering Vhagar's lair be posted at the entrance to granny's lair? I'm pretty sure it's not a matter of free entry. Saera for example tried to claim a dragon when she was in conflict with her Jaehaerys only for guards to stop her.

According to Septon Barth, Jaehaerys might have been willing to forgive Saera, had she done as she had been told. Instead, Saera escaped her confinement that night and attempted to enter the Dragonpit, only to be caught by the Dragonkeepers. Enraged by this attempt of stealing a dragon, Jaehaerys had her confined to a tower cell, where Jonquil Darke, Queen Alysanne's personal guard, stood watch over her every moment of the day

Pretty sure it has been proven that you cannot, in fact, keep young girls from getting their hands on monsters.

If you could, the Neopets team would've found a way to crash their site a long time ago.

Honestly, velaryon backed daemon vs rhaenyra and kids vs Viserys' 2nd wife's kids sounds like a really exciting time. I'm all for it.
 
You could try and talk to Leana as a write-in option and try to preusade her to consider different dragons, can't promise it will work but it is an option.
 
This is even more reason to stop a Velaryon marriage to our father. Seasmoke and Meleys against us is bad enough, but now we'd be adding Vhagar to that as well if Laena had Viserys' son.

Okay... but what's the advantage, what does Corlys gain from this?, because if we go by canon the only advantage is the joint conquest of the Stepstones between him and Daemon which leads to Daemon's marriage to Laena (who by the way is as disgusting as Viserys and Laena, to be honest) but this is advantageous for Corlys and not for Rhaenyra, the most advantageous for Rhae here is to ensure that Daemon is trapped in the marriage to Rhea Royce with no heirs in sight, at least that's what I think.

For the record, Daemon's marriage to Laena happened a few years after the war in the stepstones, and wasn't approved by Corey's before it happened - she was betrothed to a Braavosi guy that Daemon killed before Daemon and Laena eloped (he was still like twice her age, though...)
