[X] Say nothing, continue on into the marshes
We are here to bargain and generally make a good impression. Best not to anger anything.
We are going to meet the spirit hounds of Arawn's lost kingdom[X] Say nothing, continue on into the marshes
I am curious as well, but it feels like a bad habit to get into, to anger entities just because.
Yes. And I don't want to anger them beforehand. I am working under the assumption that Arawn isn't sabotaging Lydia's attempt right now.We are going to meet the spirit hounds of Arawn's lost kingdom
These hounds will remember Arawn's FIRST wife.
They dont know his second wife, or his daughter.
Do remember that the QM does not usually time this kind of prompt unless its relevant.
This is likely to be plot-relevant.
I dont get this argument. Lydia is literally right there. Her whole claim to these dogs are based on her ancestry.
How would he? He's sleeping in a demesne, and his only link with the world abroad is through Lydia's senses when she lets him. Arawn gets no say here.I am working under the assumption that Arawn isn't sabotaging Lydia's attempt right now.
Then maybe it's better not to say it out loud and use other methods that won't attract the enemy's Agro to us?So it is going to be very important to know who Lydia's mother is, the woman who succeeded Arawn's much-liked former wife, before approaching his former subjects.
He gets to advice her. His advice is "don't discuss this after dark". Assuming that's not sabotage, I am inclined to follow that advice. How would he? He's sleeping in a demesne, and his only link with the world abroad is through Lydia's senses when she lets him. Arawn gets no say here.
His actions and choices, however, do impact on his daughter's options.
So it is going to be very important to know who Lydia's mother is, the woman who succeeded Arawn's much-liked former wife, before approaching his former subjects.
Because they will also demand to know, whether its night or not.
Sure we didn't hit him with a shadow spite curse? I figured that we were in bottle to act as a bad luck charm.
Sure we didn't hit him with a shadow spite curse? I figured that we were in bottle to act as a bad luck charm.
Then why didn't she? Do we need to include it in the plan?
Arawn's instincts are towards secrecy. He's entirely comfortable routinely leaving his allies in the dark.He gets to advice her. His advice is "don't discuss this after dark". Assuming that's not sabotage, I am inclined to follow that advice.
Thats like hunting deer with a 120mm tank cannon.
What methods? Writing will draw the same attention. Then maybe it's better not to say it out loud and use other methods that won't attract the enemy's Agro to us?
More to the point, what action was it supposed to be targeting?Because you need line of light to do that and you do not have line of sight inside a bottle. The plan would have had to include that instead of the bottle.
SSC is not a general debuff; there has to be something its specifically trying to penalize. With a dismissive gesture, the Infernal befouls her target's efforts with the darkness and soul-biting chill of Kakuri.
System: Concentrating fully upon her target, the Infernal's player makes a Willpower roll against difficulty 7. If in combat, this is her action for the current turn. For each success she rolls, her target loses one die from whatever action they're currently attempting.
More to the point, what action was it supposed to be targeting?
An attack that Melee 0, Brawl 0 Lash could have handled on her own just by boosting her own Physical Attributes with Flesh 3.
We were in the scene which could have been used as a focus for on him.Because you need line of sight to do that and you do not have line of sight inside a bottle. The plan would have had to include that instead of the bottle.
Crown of Eyes?
We were in the scene which could have been used as a focus for on him.
Also better than doing nothing.
Main reason I wanted to get SSC was to make being carried around a more viable option. Will also note that all range limits are not in the charm and were added after the fact.
And crown of eyes could have used being in the same scene as a focus. Those are the same limitations the Crown of Eyes has, no charm can be more permissive than that, which is to say line of sight and line of effect. Things get rather silly otherwise.
And crown of eyes could have used being in the same scene as a focus.
Fine we will make a pendent. Should be able to whip one up in less then 5 minutes. It could not, all you were getting was the sound transmitted through the water, you could not 'concentrate fully on the target' because you could not even perceive the target well enough to know they were attempting an action. Molly guessed that it had been an attempted knife attack once the knife fell out of his hands.
Not sure why she'd bother to actually fight him. Set his stamina or dex to zero and let him collapse. I doubt he'll make a difficulty 8 willpower check to resist. An attack that Melee 0, Brawl 0 Lash could have handled on her own just by boosting her own Physical Attributes with Flesh 3.
Like I said, using tank cannon to hunt deer.
And a terrible narrative spot to debut a new charm anyway.
