Can I ask why Hope? Don't you think Logic would be better, that way we can have Tech we can understand?
Hope ties in with Progress: we're looking for technological progress as a way to better the galaxy.
The description we have is "That which remains if we stop believing in it." I take it as meaning that we use that to actually have something that isn't Mad Science and can actually be replicated without Psychic Bullshit. If anything, I'd argue that Hope muddles the Song. Makes it too idealistic when we should be looking to have our designated Technology song be more grounded, which is what we want if we want actual science going on.
To me Logic is about understanding, of things making sense. So a Song with Technology, Creativity, Progress and Logic is about creating technologies can be replicated and make sense, instead of a series of black boxes that you don't understand beyond "it just works".
I disagree, but at any rate it is too late to modify the plan now.
