Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

I really think each Molly clone should be a separate vote, with at least several days to a week in between them so everyone can discuss an individual build and come up with solid plans for them instead of slapping a bunch of shit together.

For example, y'all could just do a PODS, aka Polly, build this time.

-[X] Wyrm Hide (Level Two)
-[X] Shapechanger (3 pt Merit)
--[X] Armored Hide 1 pt
--[X] Exoskeleton 1 pt
--[X] Numbing 1 pt

Explaining the build. Let's start with what I call Exalted light which is Charmed Existence ( partially ignore ones) soaking aggravated, Dragons Never Die ( The ability to get extra dice for being cool and the ability not to take a penalty for doing cool shit) and Jack of all trades (don't suffer a penalty for using Skills you don't possess, take only a +2 difficulty and are allowed to roll for Knowledge you do not possess). This will allow essentially any clone that possesses this package to continue to act like Molly without having to adjust for not having stunt benefits it'd be a shame if one of them died simply because they used to bursting through windows or otherwise flourishing with their sword when it would be better not to do that. It also allows them to continue acting like Molly in pretty much every way except for it doesn't allow them to use Talents they don't possess like an exalted would.

Speaking of allowing them to act like Molly, the Shapechanger merit and the Gifts. Starting with the gifts, Bale Armor and Wyrm Hide act as essentially Viridian Legend Exoskeleton granting a increase difficulty to hit them and an increase of three soak. While Mental Speech will let them call home, I don't think we're ever planning on being farther than 30 Miles away from any of our clones even if we are they can use it to call Michael or Harry the Jade dogs really anyone. The shapechanger Merit is a shintai imitation allowing for the shedding of mostly human form for one of devilish power which if I had my way just seven more points or something similar I would have tried to sneak some Arcana features on to it like Elemental frame of air or something similar but you take what you can get. Right now it's a bit featureless but I think it's pretty good.

For Pursuer of Diligent Scholarship specifically Acute Senses (1 pt. Merit) Lightning Calculator (1 pt. Merit) and Eidetic Memory (2 pt. Merit). Sharp eyes for taking in information, a memory to hold that information and process it and a brain calculator strong enough to think through any problem.

My only complaint is that of the 40 points to make a custom clone with merits that fit Pursuer of Diligant Scholorship, only 4 of those points are non-generic and focused on actually enhancing mental/academic/calculative abilities.
I don't mind the 'Exalted Light' package even if it's 24 points if more of the rest was more focused, but the rest of the points could have been put to different use then just making her tanky. Hell, I would take off soaking Agg on top, that would mean half of Pods points could be spent of being Pod. They shouldn't be incapable of combat, but they still should have a lot more points invested into their actual role as a scholar, researcher, all around academic.

Yeah, having our sub souls all have True Faith (White God) is strange when Molly herself doesn't. True Faith (Primordial Molly) on the other hand is really a fun weaponized form of self confidence, if it works like that.
Don't believe in yourself, believe in the me that believes in me

I mean I'm open to suggestions but there aren't really a lot of gifts, fomor powers or merits that Grant thinking abilities. The only one that is directly attributed to thinking would be hyper focused and even that one is kind of more you get a additional bonus for a prolonged Focus rather than anything having to do with being intellectual. There just isn't a lot of merits gifts or powers that focus on acquiring information that isn't you can see farther or you can see in different spectrums or similar and then there's just the merits that are you know things that the person who made you wouldn't know which that's fine but I don't particularly like that.

For real if you have any merits or powers to make it easier to learn things than I'll definitely like change the plan I have because other than hyper Focus I think I've got all of them jack of all trades identic memory and lightning calculator. Lord knows I don't have access to all of the books necessary to like make a super comprehensive learning character.

Boston and Chicago are about a thousand miles apart.
Are we planning on just being in Boston all the time? Or reverse that when we go to college are we planning on being in Chicago all the time because the only clone that needs to be a significant amount away from us is the one that's going to classes so unless we're going to go to classes and then stay in Chicago and then not retrieve the Clone when school hours are over I don't think we really plan on being exorbitant amounts of distance away from our clones particularly.

Things happen independent of our own actions and when it does we may have to leave Chicago for a good bit. Like the Vegas/Summer Arc which wasn't too long ago.
Okay Harry was still in town and so where the Jade dogs also I don't mean ever I should have phrased that better but I don't think we're planning on just leaving a clone for weeks on end away from us either. We were in Vegas for what felt like a long time but it was less than 4 days total from beginning to end I don't really think we plan on leaving either Chicago or Boston wherever we make our home base for prolonged periods where clones would just left on their own without support because mental speech doesn't discriminate you just have to know who you're trying to talk to we have Personnel in Boston and in Chicago as well as nominal allies that you know the name of in those places just someone to make a phone call to someone else will be enough to.

emboding usum into a totem based god that can act in the world.
contradicts literally everything about Unwoven Coadjutors. "Usum" doesn't exist- cannot exist- outside of Molly's mind.

Like, sure, very few things are absolutes, but you don't just get to blow off a core component of how your Exaltation functions in a one-line write-in on an E(3?4?) charm. Recreating an Unwoven Coadjutor would be a seriously ambitious undertaking even by Exalted standards- and it would be recreating, not embodying; Usum-that-was is unequivocally destroyed by the process of carrying and delivering her Exaltation. Tinkering with the internals of Autocthon's masterwork always is.

It's not impossible; you could recreate an exact copy of them (since you encompass everything they were, you do in principle have access to sufficiently exact knowledge of them to make such a copy), leaving the copy in your head untouched. You could also, theoretically, break off the portion of your exaltation that is the Unwoven Coadjutor and incarnate that, given tools and access to said Exaltation, and extreme care and luck both not to damage it in any other way- and the result would still be more closely descended from you than from the Unwoven-Coadjutor-that-was. The first one is a Big Deal; just getting the tools to be able to start investigating the possibility of an attempt of the second is a Big Deal.

For my part I like the idea of having the first set themed after the cities of the FCF.

Also I was looking for werewolf resource online and found this. It's a pretty hefty but not complete list of gifts you can sort by source and level range.

We should be very careful about overdoing it with them, but this does have some neat stuff.

Like for the hypothetical city of fountains social build:

Beyond Human (Homid Rank 5)
The Garou is human plus -- Human plus strength, agility and health.
Human plus devoted, assured spirituality and meaning.
Human plus animal instinct and lightning reflexes. Human
plus righteous fury with which to meet the Apocalypse. He
is as man, but greater. Every Garou radiates this to some
extent, but this Gift warps that perception, changing the
Garou from a figure to be avoided to one to be admired
or adored. An ancestor-spirit teaches this Gift.

System: Once learned, this Gift's effects are perma-
nent. Humans dealing with the werewolf instinctively pick
her out as more desirable, important, and interesting than
those around her -- regardless of the character's capacity
in such matters. The Curse still applies, but rather than
being instinctively feared as a predator, the werewolf
becomes an intimidating figure of great presence. Finally,
the character may boost her Social Attributes by spend-
ing Rage or Gnosis. Each dot of either spent raises one
Social Attribute by one point for the rest of the scene.
Social Attributes may be raised above 5 in this fashion.
Taught by: Ancestor spiritBook: WW20
And this:
Persuasion (Fianna Rank 1)
This Gift allows a homid to become more persuasive when dealing with others; his statements and arguments are imbued with meaning or credibility. This Gift is taught by an Ancestor-spirit.
System: The Garou rolls Charisma + Subterfuge (difficulty 6). If successful, the difficulties of all Social rolls are reduced by one for the remainder of the scene

This is my tentative plan, its a set of clones built around two assumptions to secure them. First is a dream demesne that presumably carves a small but very well defended realm in the faerie, then the second is emboding usum into a totem based god that can act in the world and is connected to the clones. My thought was he would reside in the demesne and act as a sort of guardian angel to them. I am currently building the totem spirit but rest assured it is at least as strong as the skin walker.

…your right that I can't find much that specifically helps in that area, though something that buffs Academics specifically would definitely be in flavor. If you are looking for more stuff for Pods though, remember that Pods specifically isn't just about school, but about not leaving her mortal life behind when living in the supernatural. Social or wisdom- type merits that are meant to be used in smaller scale mortal settings, as well as any merits that help divert the eyes of the supernatural will probably help. On that same note, morphing into a inhuman being is more out of character for Pods then for any others.

I don't really want to spam gifts here, but there's one the thread needs to see:

Gremlins (Ragabash Rank 3)
The Garou can cause a technological device to malfunction merely by touching it. Use of this Gift actually intimidates the spirit that inhabits the device and causes it to function. If the Garou can sufficiently frighten the spirit, it will flee the device, causing it to malfunction permanently. This Gift is taught by a Gremlin, a type of Wyld spirit that enjoys breaking things.
System: The Garou rolls Manipulation + Intimidation; the difficulty is determined by the complexity of the item (see below). The more successes the Garou obtains, the more the device is damaged. Five successes permanently disable the device (the spirit has fled). Good roleplaying might certainly warrant one to three additional dice at the discretion of the Storyteller.
DeviceDifficulty
Computer4
Phone6
Automobile8
Knife10
I don't know if this is really that useful for us in the grand scheme, but there's something special about the idea of intimidating a knife so hard it goes limp and refuses to stab anyone. :V

@BronzeTongue any chance you could suggest where merits in my builds should be traded for Gifts?

I have issues with the flaws*. I don't think we need more points here, and adding a restriction like the one you have on the social build is potentially dangerous. The alcohol addiction is a complete nonstarter. It's basically stabbing Molly in her trauma.

To answer your actual question, I think a few of the aura picks can be collectively replaced by Beyond Human and Persuasion.

This might be a good swap for any of the deception stuff:

Obscure the Truth (Ragabash Rank 2)
Not many Garou can look a Philodox in the eye and get away with bald-faced lies. The Ragabash with this Gift has an edge over all his kin. She can calmly explain that the sky is green or gleefully regale her comrades with the exploits of a lone, heroic Ragabash and have no fear of being called on her prank.
System: By spending a Gnosis point, the Ragabash gains an air of sincerity that is nearly impossible to penetrate. Once activated, consider the Ragabash's Subterfuge to be double its normal rating.

And this could be interesting as a defensive option:

Deliberate Misinformation (Ragabash Rank 3)
The Garou can slip confusing and contrary information into his target's conversation, making their plans fall apart or otherwise causing them to suffer from a gross breakdown in communications. Opponents in the immediate vicinity of the Garou mishear each other or misinterpret instructions. The information affected by this Gift must be communicated verbally - either in person or through the use of a direct communication device such as a telephone or other transmission device.
System: The player rolls Perception + Linguistics (difficulty of the target's Willpower, or the highest Willpower in the target group). Each success allows the character to subject one opponent to the effects of this Gift. All actions that result from information communicated verbally receive a +2 difficulty; simple orders, such as proceeding to a certain address or moving to the left or right flank in battle, automatically go awry. The Gift lasts for one scene.Taught by: MitanuBook: RatH

* Also, are you actually trying to kill Dresden? Cause some car accidents maybe? That's a lot of "social booster" merits.

…your right that I can't find much that specifically helps in that area, though something that buffs Academics specifically would definitely be in flavor. If you are looking for more stuff for Pods though, remember that Pods specifically isn't just about school, but about not leaving her mortal life behind when living in the supernatural. On that same note, morphing into a inhuman being is more out of character for Pods then for any others.
I will admit I didn't think of PODS like that. Then again I don't see why it wouldn't be the case but Molly has no intent on separating herself from her friends or Rosie or Dresden at all it seems like pods exist kind of for the purpose of furthering her education and with an added benefit of being able to hang out with their friends at school not explicitly for said friends but that's just my interpretation and I will try to look up some more merits or powers that could be help with that idea thank you.

The restriction is on Dots, not points. It's 3 dots of Gnosis.
Look, it's either illegal because it's got a seven-point Gnosis or it's illegal because it's got a seventy-point True Faith. You can't have it both ways; either the QM's explicit "at one point per Dot" overrules the book or it doesn't, but you don't get to take advantage of the book costs for one while abusing the QM ruling for a sixty-point discount on True Faith.

And if you're really expecting to get another character on top of the clones- never mind one "stronger than the skinwalker"!- out of three or seven dots then we've gone far beyond the levels of cheese I'm comfortable with abusing without some kind of in-character build-up.

And it still totally contravenes established lore in a way I find flatly unacceptable.

(it's good cheese, though, as a charop thought experiment I can only admire it. well fucking done. now get it out of the game.)

The ability to speak on any subject with a very least to some level of possibility of being right. The ability to inspire troops and people that bear Molly's touch from a hundred miles.
On the other side nowhere near as coincidentally or thematically tanky as the other possible clones but way more suited to sitting on a throne and interacting with people for a long period of time so Peaks and valleys.

I mean, that's what DP said, Pods was created not from an academic drive, but from a conflict of wanting to continue the routine of a normal school life while knowing how much time she was spending there that she could do making real change as an Exalted. The Acedemic focus is almost secondary to the connection to her 'muggle side'
