Of Stone and Flame
28th of January 2007 A.D.
[Negation. Unity-in-Journey through darkness-bending onto inchoate ascending potential/Freedom,] the thoughts flow from your mind almost without medium, they simply are, an in the Language before all other Language they are at once understood, in resolve as well as sympathy, not a rejection of offered service, but of the necessity they feel proposed it.
"[Pause Fifteen Third Order Sun Breaths]" Lydia says as she cradles the head of each Warden almost gingerly between had hands and crushes them, willing the souls to pass on instead of back into their master's hands. Each time she shakes her head sadly, the akuma had bound themselves too tightly and fallen too close to the seat of Mikaboshi's tower, but others still might yet me saved.
Wardens Destroyed
Following the whispers of the elementals you shun the path though which the enemy had come knowing it leads to some place called 'the Cauldron of the Quicksilver Mind', a quick-venting chamber of madness almost as old as the domain itself. Instead you carve though the pipes on a seemingly random corner of the chamber about sixty feet off the ground to find to find a wall of pitch stained wood, a nodule from an earlier layer swallowed up and then raised by one of the heaving of the City now serving as a vector to invasion. .
Lost 1 Willpower -> Now at 6/9 (TTC)
Through twisting rooms that should not be holding together but somehow still are you catch a glimpse of vanished martial excellency, the works of long dead architects, Japanese castles mingling into the stonework of ancient Cambodia and back again seemingly without rhyme or reason, but rotted chairs and splintered tables, rusted chains are now the key. Torture chambers all in a row, empty and silent, horrifically
obsolete.
After about three minutes, at least as Clippy measures time the drill-head strikes steel again in what should according to your new allies beon the same level as Joe's workshop about a hundred years from the workshop in which he is chained.
As you punch through the drill wobbles and starts to melt before re-crystalizing under the power of your essence.
"
Fuck!!" you curse, and it comes out in English, more worryingly the grace that Tiffany had granted you had worn out as well and up ahead the enemy had finally figured out a way to stymie you, turns the corridors into an oven.
Manipulate Flesh Reverts
The clang and thump of piston driven limbs sounds through the walls sending streams down from the brickwork. Not an oven, a heat trap with enemies inside, Akuma, demons or some unholy amalgamation of the two.
"We should go back," Tiffany says, her voice like crystal.
"Heat can't hurt me," you muse, something you hadn't considered before and yet of which you are now as sure as of the fact that you can fly and not fall. "I can go on alone, this last bit and get him out."
"Short the path still before us might be, but it would be the most perilous," Nergui's words are grave as they are unadorned.
Tiffany might seem inscrutable as the stone, but in her posture too you read worry. So far you had not given the foe the chance to strike more than a single blow, your own attacks too strong, too swift to be contested, but should you press on alone you will be only one faces with whatever lurks beyond. "I can deal with the heat, for myslf and Lydia at least."
What do you do?
[] Press on alone
-[] The others leave by way of Lydia's charm (Mikaboshi can contest this)
-[] Open the Calibration's Gate (Mikaboshi may not contest this)
[] Tiffany uses Shape Flesh to grant Immunity to herself and Lydia so that they may follow
-[] Nergui Departs by way of Calibration's Gate (Mikaboshi cannot contest this)
-[] Nergui remains here and you will have to come back for him
[] Try to find a way around the heat trap

OOC: The temperature below is about 600 Degrees Celsius. Thanks to TLC Molly can just ignore it, but none of the others have a means to contest it.
