Also, can I suggest calling the Ghost-class the Virgo-class instead to keep with the theme? And I think *maybe* we could do without the Refractive Hull Coating since I think the other stealth stuff would more than make up for it.

I mean, it's a Heavy Cruiser, they're kind of chonky by definition, and it has good protection on top of that.

I'd balk if this was something intended for regular production, but as a limited line smuggler? That ship is a beast. Consider it with the Mark of Approval.

Yep, 2-4 of them, and then unless one of them is destroyed (at which point, it's a Frigate, it's cheap to just slip in) or we somehow wind up with, like, 8 extra Frigate DP (and maybe not then, but, y'know, that'd be tempting), we're good for the rest of time.

Virgo Class is reserved for our Battleship, because it is funni to me.

I'd call this one the Chameleon to get it in line with our naming scheme. That is, in fact, one of the IAU Designated Constellations!

Right, here's the Ghost-Class Infiltration Carrier

(Supply Generation and Ship Shrine seemed pretty important. We don't want to skimp on faith or supplies)

I asked:
Would the latter be enough to do the job of, like, setting down revolutionary units for infiltration, HeroCooky ?
this also be great for supporting anti chaos groups in sector 261 too

Oh boy 621 I feel we need to focus on but at the same time I don't like leaving Voxx Prime alone.

At the same time I don't feel we have enough forces to fight on two fronts and we have to focus.

...it really would!

I think my set of plans for the next whosit is.

[] Plan: The Subtlety of a Ghost, the Teeth of a Lion
-[] [Design x2] 12 DP total: That new Leo (8 DP), Ghost Class Carrier (2 DP), Taurus Secondus (2 DP)
-[] [That Revolution School/Missionary School action, I have ideas for how to frame it.]

Turn 2:

[] Plan: Raise A Glass
-[] Hive Research Food thing
-[] Shipbuilding
-[] Masoleum (maybe instead the next turn, I dunno if we can get away with skipping it for more than one turn, if not the Masoleum, then a second Shipbuilding.)

Turn 3:

[] Plan: ???
-[] Start the Infiltration of Voxx Primus, other actions pending depending on what the 621 situation is like, but focusing on that otherwise?

Getting out my proposal for automated destroyer production early before I become busy with RL.

Spearheads, high speed heavy cruisers that move in and bully lighter weight warships while applying constant pressure to other heavies through the use of boarding craft attacks and the absurd amount of high caliber dakka it can spit out. Ideally group leaders with Cruxes.
I would think the Scorpio would make a good spearhead. From what I see of the Leo I think if it as a line-holder to keep big pushes towards our backline where our Libras and other decidedly no-frontline stuff would be.
Virgo Class is reserved for our Battleship, because it is funni to me.
Nah, I want to call our Battleship the Little Dipper-class (Big Dipper is for the Dreadnought).

These two are pretty non-negotiatable for me. I still prefer Plump but I'm willing to hear arguments for the third.

And I will again say that I think it would suit our purposes much better to be able to have a higher production rate overall. Right now we're pretty geared towards quality over quantity so being able to more readily pump out the ships we need is more valuable to me than a steady stream of just Destroyers.

While malnutrition is not completely eradicated, our MREs do a great job at combating it. Meanwhile Widespread Augments Would let us be able to help the crippled, the blind, the deaf and other disabled people better while also increasing our combat effectiveness.

Scorpios are too fragile for being a spearhead, and don't have the same firepower to command respect that is required of a good spearhead unit.

The difference between the lightest Heavy Cruiser and the heaviest Light Cruiser in history is 200 meters of length, Three steps of armor and shields and The capacity to mount 4 DP weapons. I cannot stress enough how much of a game-changer that functionality is. A 4 DP Lance one-shots fully shielded Destroyers. The 2 4 DP cannons it has produces Six Times the firepower of the heaviest Light Cruiser macrocannon that can be mounted at a fraction of the mass and DP that would be required to get it normally.

The sheer girthiness of a Heavy Cruiser is why they're desirable as spearheads. Scorpios might be something we could field to accompany a Leo to produce burst damage, but they wouldn't have the sheer mass and defensive capability to survive long if they were the heaviest thing on the front lines.

Mmmm, yeah fair enough. I guess instead what I'm thinking of is the Scorpio as a ship meant for flanking, going around the sides with a pair of Crux Ships and delivering the hammer blow while the latter overwhelms PD.

Yeah, Scorpios are best as the naval equivalent of Shock Cavalry, the Leo is a spearhead, a Distraction Heavy Cruiser if you will. You don't send Shock Cavalry into the teeth of a gunline, you send it in once the enemy is committed and can't stop you from getting at their soft, tender flesh.

Just a heads up, you have to preface your vote with Plan or else it risks fucking up the counter. I'm approval voting the version without the preface, this is just a warning though.

These are my 2 proposals. Deep Space Beacons because I like the idea of being able to make warp travel within our own space much faster and more reliable, and I also wanna exploit those Unstable Routes. Alternatively, an automatic research trickle means even when we go a dozen turns without having the time or will to do research, we're still getting something done in that category.

And as promised, I'm voting for every other version of a 3 trait plan because we need to coordinate if we're going to beat the 25 action crowd, who have a much easier time getting their votes consolidated.

[X] A Bounty of Labor

We are likely few, but we need this. Plans to grow and be more, and most importantly get new traits alongside of it.
