Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

So, when making a weapon against an immortal deity that has complete control over (local) reality, it's important to remember a couple of things:
1) This is what exaltations were made for. To fight the impossible odds and topple the omnipotent overlords of Creation. And, to compound that, Infernal exaltations were doubly made for that - to break the confines of hell, to regain the glory of the past, to escape the prison of their makers. I think this project might stir some deep, deep memories in Molly. Especially if we go all in with effort (and this might trigger TLF even).
2) Tiffany can boost intelligence of everyone involved up to 10, and that's before any other narrative contribution she brings.

Lash could enhance fey that way technically, at least the ones who pretend to play nicely with some kind of biology, but she probably would not be welcome to do so. That Lore gives her enormous power over her patient.

A Hope Plague.
That is...

*Puts on ellogian sunglasses*

Wicked.

[X] Spread the word only to his closest allies, those he is reasonably sure will not take it ill.

Does that sound like a diplomatic overture to you?

Given what we are doing here, I would not be surprised if whosherface, uhhh the Denarian who helped cook up the Black Death, takes notice, or even takes notes, depending on how well we do with this.

OK. She can still boost Molly and Lydia. That's either 24 or 30 base dice for Molly, depending on if the boost counts before or after the excellency (I forget which). We aren't likely to be able to use whwh this deep in Summer, but BSM should work, and if Bane's making triggered TLF, so should this, given what we are making it for. Big book of Yomi Wan is probably worth -1 DC at least.

So, Molly alone is likely tk be rolling something like 26 dice at -5 DC with a favored ability. Plus 1 willpower success.

Lydia's advise and contribution is another 15 dice, also favored, plus a willpower success.

Tiffany adds another 10+ dice and narrative weight.

That's 50+ dice altogether, most of those favored, many with strong DC reductions. Without the fae themselves. Who almost certainly bring at least 20 more dice to the table.

Narratively, we have the collaboration of:
1) Solaroid perfection in all things, including craft
2) The deeply resonant themes of "hope in hell" that is at the core of Infernal exaltation
3) The embodiments of human passions
4) The exalt of Death as it should be, the passage and final peace and release
5) The Angelic Lore of Longing

I kinda expect Mother Summer to show up at some point, having smelled what we are brewing. Because that's definitely a plague worthy of being put on her shelf. I think at this point the only way to make this even stronger would be to somehow convince Esperacchius, the Sword of Hope, to contribute. Hmm... maybe we could make a call to Sanya? Using the sword to literally stir the pot might be within the rules, and give the brew a mighty boost.

Either way I can't imagine the CDC being happy with the idea of a disease you need physical and informational quarantine to contain, which you can't study because learning about it risks infection.
Happy, no. Hopeful... unavoidably.

I wonder what it would do if released in an Amazon warehouse.

Edit: Because all the Wicked City descriptions gave me strong "working in an FC" flashbacks.

@DragonParadox as far as Molly understands the Rules, would Esperacchius (or, rather, Sanya, as the Knight wielding Esperacchius) be allowed to contribute to the brewing of the hope plague? Because the image of a magic pot being stirred with a Sword of the Cross is a compelling one.

Molly does not know enough to even roll a check, that is not the kind of thing that it would occur to Michael to talk about and her occult knowledge does not include this. You would have to ask IC.

Sure, you can include it in this plan if you want or else after the next update.

Ok, then

[X] Plan all together now
-[X] Spread the word only to his closest allies, those he is reasonably sure will not take it ill
-[X] Talk to Michael about if it's allowed for Sanya, the wielder of the Sword of Hope, to contribute to the making of the "hope bomb" to strike at a heart of hell.
--[X] If it is, contact Sanya, and pay for his air tickets (first class) to get to Chicago, if he's not on a mission right now

@Yog there are things like exaggeration, you're adding too much and I just want to go straight to the next turn. Inviting Saya we will have to send waiting messages, see if it has problems (one chapter), the creation of the plague (one chapter), how to enter Wicked City (one chapter) etc.

Can't we just simplify and rush things?

Ohhhh the hope plague is super cool. Screw you Megacorp Demon Man!

I completely understand the desire to move on. I don't think my addition would add many, if any at all, updates - we need to talk to mom and dad anyway, so we could as well ask. If Sanya is occupied, that's ok, we move on.

After our adventure against Mikaboshi we will have to keep this Source Code in the deepest and most guarded vaults of our Palace, as it will be something that all kings will want to destroy and many orthers will want to steal.
I guess if we feel the need to write it down. Otherwise I imagine Molly, Lash etc would just remember it.

A cognitive hazard straight from the SCP universe.
It's only a cognitohazard if it hurts you to think about it. Technically speaking this is more of a blessing you share by possessing, like goodwill or deep faith in a way.

It shouldn't, as I understand it, drive you nuts exactly. It reminds you of something important, refute the greatest lie hell ever told:
No one is truly irredeemable save that one who thinks himself so and will not be swayed.
And lets them feel what that could mean, if only they were brave enough to reach for it.

Doesn't knowing Old Realm confer a difficulty reduction to rituals per that discussion on the teaching it to a baby?

If you think hope can't be the most painful and damaging emotion a being can have then I have a bridge to sell you. Make no mistake, unleashing this plague is going to cause untold suffering.

We should not invoke a swordbearer. If we invoke a swordbearer then the Fallen will get involved if for no other reason than to complicate things for a swordbearer.
