I feel like us actually helping the people of our new Federation have actual civilian amenities is honestly more pressing considering, like, just how absolutely miserable things must have been the last generation with the Civilian Industry and Medical Industry both in the negatives.

You're not wrong, but at the same time, if we're going to rush our Doctrine establishment, we don't want to have to revisit it again two turns down the line with another DP.

Alternately, we could do one point in Enacting the Plan, and then Civilian Infrastructure. Or hell, even two points there so we can do one point in VI next turn.

The point is, if we're going to establish our proper Void Doctrine. We need the extra DP
Actually, on further thought...

[X] Plan: Carrier Doctrine Online
-[x] [Military] Enacting The Plan (0/2) x2
-[X] [Faith] Nursery-Temples Beyond The Cradles
-[X] [General] Construct Something
--[X] Void Industry VI

[X] Plan: Slow Rolling Carrier Doctrine
-[X] [Military] Enacting The Plan (0/2)
-[X] [General] Construct Something
--[X] Civilian Infrastructure
--[X] Void Industry VI
-[X] [Faith] Nursery-Temples Beyond The Cradles
[X] Construction Boom

This gets us the new and improved military units, protects our people against Chaos, and begins the work towards having all of our Infrastructure at at least 1.

Next turn plan:

[] ...And A Balm for the Soul/
-[] [Faith] Souls Artificial and Minds Constructed
-[] [General] Construct Something
--[] Medical Infrastructure I
-[] (A Psykana of some kind)

Shouldn't we do medical services instead of civ infrastructure? That'd work better and get us to medical 1.

Put a "Let's not rush Enacting the Plan and fish for Unlocks as well as Civilian Infrastructure" plan in my previous post. Which next turn we would be finishing Enacting the Plan, getting Void Infrastructure VII, and either Psykana or another Faith thing the turn after. Likely a Faith Thing to finish nailing our doctrine down. We're in no place to be expanding for the immediate future, not until we've modernized our navy. Though at least with our current VI levels, our systems should be a hell of a nut to crack.

Actually @HeroCooky , the stuff in our Construct Something list, is that our current level or the level we're moving to? If that's the case, Heavy Industry III unlocks R&D I think you said? While Military Infrastructure III is ground doctrine stuff?

think they said level 5 is what unlocks stuff in m categories not 3

Food is at 4, the next level is 5/V.

And yeah, there are a bunch of goodies hidden. Heavy Industry unlocks RnD at V, for example, with Mil Ind unlocking military doctrine choices further along.

Edit: The [Construct Something] Action only shows the level being built, not the one you currently have. You are at 4/0/0/5/1/2 across the categories.

Level 3 in VI unlocked Destroyers, which is why I'm asking.

Ah, well, I am dumb. Slow Rolling now focuses on upgrading the VI so we're ready to hit the ground running next turn with the completed stuff.

And Void Industry VII should make for some pretty damn solid SDF Monitors. V was already enough for every system to have a Light Cruiser sized defense monitor, VII might be enough for a full sized Cruiser. Enough at least that we should be able to make a little time before the next round against the Orks, since I think we cut off their front line of this salient.

[] [General] Construct Something
-[] Food Production II
-[] Civilian Infrastructure
-[] Heavy Industry III
-[] Void Industry VII
-[] Medical Services

-[] Military Industry IV
(Gain: A boost in production focusing on the chosen option.)
This means we're currently at negative Civilian Infrastructure and Medical Services.

Wait to clarify, wouldn't that be four actions if we have an extra one this turn?
Yes, but that is a temporary one, so it is added as an extra.
To confirm as well, Void Industry VII unlocks Light Cruisers, is that right @HeroCooky ?
Yes, Void 7 unlocks Light Cruisers and System Station Defence Swarms.

The levels shown in Construct Something are the levels you move up to.

And you unlock that stuff at level 5/V.

It means you are at 0. [Nulla] means you are at -1.

Alright, thanks my friend for your patience at answering my questions :)

So yeah, I think Void Infrastructure VII either way to really lock our gains in and prepare to move on--either roping in the other Abandoned Worlds or pushing the Orks back to Itani, and either push our new Doctrine this turn or slow roll it while also getting Civilian Infrastructure up a point. Either or.

That being said, we're still a Tiny Power, but we're no longer a Single System Power, that matters.

That aside, is there anything Neato involved for now having three fully established Systems @HeroCooky rather than being a One System Minor? (We've had Ubraka for a bit, but we only just now finished Uplifting them, so I think it's only now that they're actively contributing to our overall income.)

Personally I care at least as much about the Good Boy league as the Big Boy League.

The Imperium sure as hell basically never except on a totally local scale takes Medical or Civilian Infrastructure, and then acts dumbfounded when misery and disease make them easy prey for Chaos and generalized dissent.

I mean, yes, the point is that now that we're no longer in the absolute dumpster hole for actions with our massive expansion, we can afford to be ticking things up.

But we're not a OPM anymore! We're still a ways out still from qualifying as a proper Count (That would be claiming the entire Subsector), but we no longer scream and die if we lose even once.

We should still do our best not to lose though, which is why VI 7 is so important, that puts us beyond the point where a casual probe can force its way through our defense lines.

My plan literally spends half of the AP budget on military stuff. We can get VI 7 in a little bit, and take some time to actually figure things out. Like, we're honestly doing fine on that front?

We lose a DP from it though, at the same time we get three ship designs, that's a catastrophic opportunity cost.
