Right bidder is not "any bidder with the right price". Otherwise he'd be outsider-cultist already.Usum specifically pointed him out as being for sale to the right bidder.
Oh. That's a very interesting proposal, yes. He's a supernatural already, and knows the local scene. And he actually has moral fiber and doesn't like what he does. @DragonParadox what is Molly's estimation on the mantle being able to correct his demon's issue?
Sin Eater wants the new Dragon to have witnessed what happened to the last one* which means someone in this room. Also unfortunately our otherworldly agents don't qualify.

After all suicide is a sin.
I get it. I'm just hoping that she hasn't signed any actual paperwork or made an official deal yet. I still want to recruit her to start working for us.Put yourself in her shoes, it's not like she thought she had options.

Can we? Yes. Should we? No.

He's the least bad option available that suits the Sin-Eater's stated requirements. So you launch into a fundamentally true if slightly more flattering account of what Arlene had said about him when she gave you his number, emphasizing that this is an investigation grave as it is urgent aimed at those who are a threat to all within the city. It's when you toss in the word Lawbreaker that you really get his attention though.
"So the Council has requires my skills," the words 'at last' aren't spoken, but they might as well be shouted given the relish with which he speaks. "Far be it from me to impede the protectors of mankind, but given how protective the Wardens are of 'official business' I think it would be prudent to offer some recognition wouldn't you say so Ms Carpenter?"
Chip on his shoulder the size of Mount Everest, annoyed at the Council. Wanted to be a wizard, didn't make the cut, tried to study his way out of a lack of talent, ended up broadening instead of deepening his gift. At the back of your mind Usum is chuckling darkly and you do not even have to ask why. In the marketplace of souls Alexander Harrowmont's would be at a Black Friday discount for anyone paying in the proper coin, the question is if any buyer's gotten to him yet.
I don't know if she knew what she was saying there but that's actually a brilliant quote. Because proper as an adjective can describe both quality and quantity and considering how he's acted in this matter the quality of his would be patrons would disqualify them from having the proper coin. Can we? Yes. Should we? No.

But under normal conditions I wouldnt want to put him in this position.

I... don't have that much issue with gunrunning, really? I mean, it's not human trafficking. And yes, it enables other crimes. But it can easily be leveraged and pivoted into mostly legit arms dealing, including selling (very simple, very obsolete) versions of FIvefold Courts weaponry.Actual point I forgot to make:
Assuming that any of the three people here, but especially Harrowmont, happens to be the Sin-Eater's pick?
I will point out that Little Tommy and his crew of Shadow Killers is available for going out of business prices right now. They know the city, especially the criminal element, and are currently in a little trouble.
Sandra used them to source milspec weapons, which can and will be tracked back to them, so the Feds are going to fry them unless someone with sufficient juice intervenes. Like the new Dragon. So for the cheap price of protection and scanning their heads to get rid of whatever mind control remains, someone can get their signatures on an employment contract.
Just get them out of the gunrunning business entirely.
That's a really low bar... Who would we be selling outdated Five Court weapons too? We don't need the money so it must be for some other reason.I... don't have that much issue with gunrunning, really? I mean, it's not human trafficking. And yes, it enables other crimes. Politics? I mean, we could probably supply who we want ourselves, but it might also be simpler to handle distribution through these guys. That was just a thought, I am not attached to it.That's a really low bar... Who would we be selling outdated Five Court weapons too? We don't need the money so it must be for some other reason.
You can literally buy AR15s and AKs off the shelf in the US for less than a thousand dollars with no waiting time. Anyone who wants weapons can buy them. Noone in the US is buying RPGs or grenades for home defence. Gunrunning is only profitable when you are selling weapons abroad, and the obvious market is Mexico and the drug war going on there.I... don't have that much issue with gunrunning, really? In general, yes, they should be subverted. Ideally, I want to leave Vegas with humans being in control. Have Harry call in a detachment from WC, if they can spare one, have all human factions sign to some manner of alliance, have LoC detach some forces, etc.
Personally I'm just amused by my mental image of this resulting "every so often the Sin Eater just lets an Outsider through to fling them into Demonreach"Harry do you want vast cosmic power?
"Gosh dang this frikking heckhole of a city"
I'll take that as a no.
Care to elaborate? That could mean a lot of things and the masquerade is still on. Trading through illegal means also gives a certain impression.
