[] Plan: Pincer
-[] Kil'drabi should hide and not make any move
-[] Lure the Orks to attacking our station with our own ships defending us head on and the Imperial ships in position to attack the Orks from behind once they commit

Basic plan that could probably be better if I had any idea of what the various ships in this mean. Like would it be better to have our heavy frigate and the Imperial medium defense monitors for the defense while the rest of the light ships try and attack the behind/flanks?

Do we have any boarding capabilities and if so how does our Chapter Master rate the Neophytes chances for him leading a boarding operation?

Form a straight line and head for the Ork ships, beefiest ship in front, once it shield are low/took some dmg head for the back of the line and let the 2nd ship tank the shots coming from the Ork ships.
Then surround and destroy the ships.
Or turn the last ship of the line into a fireship with all our explosives onboard and ram it into the Ork ship/s once the line of ships is close enough.
(the line has our ships hiding behind each other, giving the Ork ship/s only 1 target.)

We should keep the aliens in reserve if we rnd up failing badly.

Is there a particular big ship or something we can see where the Big Boss Ork would be?

Hmm damn the station with some of the heavier ships would be the ideal anvil for the rest of the light ships to hammer down from behind. Sure it has some risks about our station getting hurt but it's tough and has good enough defenses to possibly solo this by itself. But if the Imperium won't play ball with the strat than it's a bit too risky for me.

Next ideal plan I guess would be having our heavier ships brawl at Droma IV while our lighter ships circle around like the first pincer plan minus the station but that still has the issue of the Orks maybe randomly finding our station first and attacking leaving our ships out of position to help defend our home.

I guess we could plan to do the Station Anvil plan by ourselves but I feel like that's just inefficient and makes the Imperium maybe try and take advantage of us since they don't really understand "I took a bullet for you so you should owe me".

Do please note that you are not dealing with "The Imperium," but Droma III, a planet you have half-converted, and is ruled by the dude you helped out majorly. They are just breathing heavily into a paperbag and trying their best not to panic at the prelude to the second major Xeno presence in their home within a single century. One that won't be happy to chuck some thousand tons of precious metals before buggering off.

A minor Ork infestation isn't the end of the world, and we've upgraded our military infrastructure as well, so our gear should have improved--right?
Besides, now that the Psykana Experiments are dead (or saved), the Neophytes need something to murder as practice.

But yes, our best bet would be to fight them at our station and have the Droma III SDF come around the sides or rear. We should tell them to do so, that if we try engaging them over their world there's a non-zero chance they make planet fall and our station should be on their path. All they need to do is come in where they're most vulnerable while we keep them occupied and they swoop in for the kill. If they do this, we'll make it a priority to get them more weapons.

Seeing as our void and military industry was upgraded I am curious about the viability of ordering a rushed production run of make-shift void mines out of torpedoes? Probably not but considering the stations history it's theorically possible we got the technical expertise required. I assume no but it's worth asking.

engaging them over their world
They will engage the Orks over Droma IV, not Droma III.

However, bribing them with locking in an action to give them military equipment and telling them you will bear the brunt of the assault with your fleet instead of uniting both would be a viable strategy they'd accept.

You can produce a smattering of void mines and deploy them in either the path of the Orks or before the battlefield if you wish to do so, you have the days required to produce and ship them around.

Good to see we all agree about keeping our alien friends hidden.

As for a plan.....don't have much of one. But I'm iffy about letting the Orks have even the slightest grip on our home base, even feral Orks are dangerous to the average Guardsmen.

Are there any asteroid fields in our system that we could lure the Orks to? That way we could set up some kind of ambush on them?

The one good thing about this is that Ork tek, even at its best, is usually shoddy as shit. Considering it's all powered by Ork belief and Waaagh fields, while still being a bitch to deal with, can still be taken down if we kill enough Orks to dampen and break whatever Waugh field they have going for them.

This can be made quicker by killing off the Warboss and/or any high ranking Orks on either of the ship, as when those fall Orks usually either turn on each other or flee.

TBF I was more worried about Imperial Navy or Inquisition coming in afterwards who would come in and see we were different and weakened and thus wouldn't care that we took a bullet for an Imperial planet and would just see us as easy targets. I'm okay with taking a minor hit if it's the best strategy but I'm not okay with taking a potentially major blow when we'll need a strong stick on hand to keep the Imperium as a whole as 'good' neighbors.

Will this work for the pincer station plan? Promise them the military trade action and us taking the Orks head on in exchange for them fighting the Orks near us?

....that is a valid worry to have. But I'll be able to better explain your local circumstances next turn, so don't worry about it for now. The Imperium and Inquisition won't be able to do much in the local sub-sector for potentially century again.

I'll allow it. But it will require a locked-in Action. Reducing you to two next Turn.

Edit: also, g'night.

[X] Plan Station Pincer with Bribes
-[X] Kil'drabi should hide and not make any move
-[X] Lure the Orks to attacking our station with our own ships defending us head on and the Imperial ships in position to attack the Orks from behind or flanks once they commit
--[X] Bribe/Reassure the Imperials you'll be taking the brunt of the fighting and that you'll set up a military trade in the future.
-[X] Put some mines around our station to deter or damage them if they try and rush headlong. With a focus on mines that can stop boarding attempts over damaging the light cruisers

Okay I feel like this is a decentish plan. Sets the battlefield to where we're strongest with the station and our ships as an anvil that the Imperials can nip at the Orks where they're weakest. I added mines cause I don't see why not and specified to have the mines focused on trying to stop Ork boarding attempts cause them boarding us even if it isn't a lose condition could make this hurt a lot more than otherwise.

This plan might have us lose some ships and have the station take some hits but I think its the most effective way we can win despite that. Only real failure point is the Ork in charge being smarter than average and not falling for us baiting him in a kill zone thus making everyone out of position. But well its Orks they're only a tutorial enemy if they're in small numbers and dumb as rocks.

So if we're locked in for the trade next turn, you guys want to do the next round of preaching on Dorma III for next turn then? The trade should increase our influence on Dorma III, which would probably affect our integration efforts as well.

I'm thinking we finish our preaching there and start preaching to our Xeno friends.

Also keep in mind, they're Orkz that jumped into a system they likely have no intel on with ships that aren't even in adequate condition even by Ork standards. They're either pretty desperate or really reckless to come here.
