Sway is a way to put it; the dragon basically told Winter to take a number and there's every indication he's going to get away with it if someone else doesn't get him for unrelated reasons.

As long as whatever you're doing, good or bad, isn't more trouble for the major players than cleaning up after rooting you out of the city they will cut you the slack to keep doing it.

Abusing that fact is a good way to become a pariah who's influence ends at your borders, but with a little care in its application it doesn't have to go down like that.

Indeed. And we actually have people who know uow to manage places like Vegas. And in the process we might actually make the city better for everyone.

And it also diverts attention from Harvard and Chicago.

I am mote and more convinced that, if the opportunity presents, making a bid for Vegas is a good idea.
 
I'll vote for the devil (Molly) to take Las Vegas, if only because I want to see Charity exalt from the ass-whooping she'll try to give Molly.

Molly completely dominated this conversation. Like watching a praying mantis eat a cricket alive.
Going to note that the White Court could very much interpret this conversation as Molly giving their local rep enough of a heads up for him to get out of Dodge.


Molly just proc'd a bunch of supernatural secrets in that scene, from confirming the status of the Dragon's current mortality to the whereabouts of Wanderland's residents to some details of the Red Court tunnel assault.

This should count for +2 Essence regen for her Urge, raising her to 6/15 Essence.
So she only has to soak another 30 minutes to raise her Essence to 8/15, then she can burn another 4 Essence on calling Harrowmont(ATB+Occult+Etiquette+Empathy)


So the Dragon is still alive.
Just incapacitated. He was probably the black dude we saw in our vision then. I cant imagine what possessed him/them to assault the hardened sanctum of a sorcerer with Greater Glamor on his charge sheet.

Was Orpheus working with Sandra?
Or did Sandra just frame him as doing something serious enough that the Dragon abandoned subtlety and pulled together enough assets to perform a hard assault on the fucking tunnels? Is he even dead?

I mean, Orpheus was according to his stat sheet, a Greater Glamor adept with skills that rivalled full Fae; even if you have a body, are you actually seeing the truth?

Fortunato's fled with his people. Man used to be a goblin in the service of the Erlking and the Wyld Hunt; hes seen some shit.
If he's running, some very serious shit is about to go down.
And if Wyldfae can sense it, Im pretty sure the heavy hitters of both Courts can tell.


Good to have third party confirmation that Charon is a powerful psychopomp of some sort.
Knowing the mortality status of the Dragon would suggest that he might have some sort of intellectus with regards to the dead, at least in Las Vegas.

Just occurred to me that since Silk runs a night club, so she's going to be up late as a matter of course.
If we called, she'd be awake to answer.
But its best to talk to that one face to face.

Frankly given the size and level of opposition involved the only really viable way to do this is with a city god built to be loyal to us and active enough to handle broad actions. Probably backed up by demons of various levels as enforcement.

Personally I favor the idea of mixing in our spirits with ones stolen from the wicked city and promoted via arcana crafting if we went for it, because cyber devils are the best and Mikaboshi doesn't deserve them.

Start with the big guy, then use them to subordinate the local dragon nests. Put tech demons in anything important and upgrade our most loyal to minor gods tied to the nests and actively working to maintain useful conditions*.

Combination fortress/magical Death Star via geomancy, and even if you beat it you probably still explode the continent. Given what the Akuma showed was possible with leyline work in a few days I'd be really reluctant to pick a fight with an exalt in territory they'd had time to do this with.

Really this might be the only place on earth we can even try that, because anywhere else would get us attacked by panicked supernaturals when they start tasting green any time they look in the direction of our territory. The back door would likely be enough to make them flinch for long enough that it'd be too late.

We don't have the mundane resources to meaningfully exert influence over a whole city without nonsense of this grade, even if it's overkill in a lot of ways.

Sure Molly can personally kill any slavers but quashing the trade in flesh, drugs, and objectionable weapons is something you need near omnipresence to pull off.

* We have a WoG on this for clippy somewhere that implies we can do something to this effect with demons.

Even if we don't do this we should ask Harry what he thinks about awakening all the energy and history of a major city as a god dedicated to our service, then ascending demons to manage the geomantic environment of the region for us so we can shut down the local crime rings with our new magical Death Star.

Lash can heal heart attacks so it's fine.

I just reread the arc. It has been a very long arc alright we likely should have gone into a new one after the fairy court thing. As things stand I see us ending this arc with 40+ XP easily. Maybe even at essanse 4.

The way I see it, we call in Summer with a request of "hold this city for me for a year and a day, or until I dismiss you, whichever comes earlier", and use a lesser favor from Maeve for catching Sandra to get Winter to not contest Summer's actions for the same period. Then we start flooding the city with our agents en-masse, buying out and establishing small businesses as bases of operation, fortifying them with house spirits, either designed, or called from Sanctuary. All the while we take hold of whatever dragon nests we can. We make city god, then spend the rest of the time raising a manse in the city as the core of its defenses.

It'll take a lot of effort (probably at least one AP and a bonus each month), but I think it's doable. If we start from "we are the last one standing" position. Which we shall see if situation deteriorates to that level.


On a separate note, a thought occurs to me - if we somehow manage Daniel exalting as solar, I sorta kinda expect betrothal proposals for younger Carpenter kids to start coming from various supernatural factions. Because the concentration of power within one family that is 2 celestial exalts and 1 terrestrial+ exalt (Lydia is basically family now, and I hope she and Daniel go steady) is enough for said family to be considered a political force in their own right. And that's completely disregarding Michael himself, and harry being close friend of the family.
