Where is it more profitable for us to invest experience in Eldritch, where one experience will be counted for two, or in Arcane Induction and Connections, where there is a 75% discount?

It says or but I asked birdsie and the discount applies to both. Also the 5th level into eldritch its discount stacks with the points being worth double when buying eldritch stuff so we'd at least want to buy the 5th level of eldritch then look at the other discounted stuff if its wins.

Aspect: Truthseeker - Improves social insight and instinct, develops into the ability to detect lies and deceptions, and eventually see the 'Truth' of things. Grants super-senses. Applicable in physical combat by detecting feints and reading intent.

20/5 vision, acute analysis of details, can magnify details within field of view and achieve other minor feats of unnatural perception. Passive insight can pierce most forms of non-magical deception and illusion; with effort, can unravel even supernatural tricks.

"Quack!"

[X] Plan Friendship

Is this really the right quest to depend on unspesific favours?

We play Sol somebody who has a spefic extra ressource to be managed, not Penny not Harrison not Damien.

If we were one of them then fine but I feel with our Will mechanic we need to take any chance we can get for empowerment (besides this isn't even a chance we spend Will on getting this)

Like unless what we get from her in return is equal this is just a waste to me.

No Mr. "friends are my power" for this please.

I'll write a full analysis after I run my many many errands, but for now I think it's important to point out a very obvious fact: both of the options with associated costs are a) far beyond our means in Student Credit and b) would put us at a maximum of 0 Will heading into the next thing. Both of these are considered a suboptimal result. As cool as both are, I favor storage or sharing over either 'hee hee hoo hoo gib buff' and 'this is as close to flirting as sol will ever get' in exchange for becoming almost as broke as I am.

The leading plans are both distribution as the default with an Immersion if we have sufficient SC. Your point about low will still stands though.

We need 7 SC for Arcane Focus. The benefit from Arcane Focus is actually more valuable than Eldritch Immersion in the mid to long run.

@Birdsie , we do need details on how Eldritch stacks with Arcanum to determine the actual value of Eldritch Immersion. Does Eldritch 5 Arcanum 5 = Arcanum 10 combat and utility?

Empowering Penny, who has a Seraph Aspect and thus may be subject to the commands of the Jesus Role, the identity and character of which we have not determined, may be risky enough to be catastrophically dumb. I would not do this without assurances that such - or similar - will not occur.

[X] Plan Simp Resistance
-[X] Distribution
-[X] If we have enough SC, purchase Eldritch Immersion

I like her, she's good, great even, and a nice person... but if there's an opportunity for power for ourself first? No offense but before the educator we didn't really KNOW each other. Soooo.... sorry, not sorry, Eldritch Immersion it's gotta be(If we have resources to do so at the time of course)

Okay I just washed the dishes so I am basking in pure unadulterated Animus. Let's dive in, shall we?
Honestly Eduman is just living his best life - he's the type of guy to imbue a class with musical tropes and join them for their performance.

Now, onto the fun stuff: Interactions with Penny! She seems an alright sort. Supportive of Sol, and of his predictions - this about lines up with one of my working theories on the subject, that a sufficiently diligent Enrolled is divorced enough from the Architecture to believe Sol. It's nice to have a hypothesis confirmed, and to cross out "Harrison is just so Brotastic that it works".

In other news, theft! And lots of it. There doesn't seem to be any mention of if Penny managed to snag anything: she might just be against the practice. However most of the people we stole from are presumably occultists, so I am relatively guilt-free! Regardless, we do have some okay options: a book of fell knowledge, a switchblade just in case, and a gun just in case the first just in case fails.

Anyhow, it is time to commit Grand Theft Thematics: the question is, what to do with it? Time for me to analyze, as is my Most Holy (not really) and Sacred (barely) Duty (i am doing this on a whim). Absorption gives a variable amount of EXP: I'll be working with an average value of 2,500 for the time being. It's... okay. Not perfect, of course, and in fact it is the weakest option on this list bar none in a practical sense. No one will ever pick it in the face of anything else: let's move on.

Sharing is caring, as they say, and the two major plans are currently 'do this unless we have the credit to do something cooler'. I really like this option for one reason: it makes Sol a team player, and everyone appreciates one of those (at least according to the HR dept. at my place of work)! More notable is the immediate tangible benefits to survival: Rihaku's plan Carnage last round was all about this, as we are about to throw hands with someone named the General (i presume) so maybe it would be nice for either Sol or Penny to have access to another Aspect (which, by my math, we have just above even odds of both activating).

Storage is a deceptively good option - the Magician is, conceptually, good at makin' stuff. We already have no shortage of random kinda-magic crap to throw into a bowl and mix together that we stole from the locals: why not steal some pure thematic energy to jam into a rad sword or cool hat or nice robe? While it may seem like the 'do this later' option, it does have no shortage of potential options for that later.

I am going to discuss, in this paragraph, both Immersion choices as a whole - there will be a later section with differences. My main concern with putting the option to have this is simple: Will. As of current, we are lying at 25 Will - leaving us, at maximum, 0 Will (and prospective burnout) if we pick either of them. This is bad, because again we are about to throw hands/spells/bullet/dagger/entropic field at something big (maybe) and Not Feeling It seems like a bad vibe to have when in an active combat situation. I won't mention the credit expense besides the fact that even the cheaper option is massive - more expensive that our only current possible expenditure amongst our Techs (Sword/Coin/Cup/Stick Devotion). The sheer expense alone makes it a practical none-option for me: an interesting curio, and not much else.

Eldritch Immersion is the more expensive option and also turns Sol into the single chaddest first year. While it draws attention (especially that of Pete, Matt, and Andy - as well as their boss, Big J) it is probably the single greatest dopamine hit for the entire thread since the last time we empowered (so, two posts ago). However, it puts us as -5 Will and already costs a huge amount of SC, which we have been spending a lot of. Also I would assume that Sol did not pack coffee jello in his lunch. Overall, 0/10 burnout would not recommend.

Angelic Immersion is cheaper, does grant Sol a pity gift of XP, and turns Penny into the focal point of things (until people spend three seconds reading between the lines and find out who gave her a truckload of EXP). It also only sets us to 0 Will and is slightly more within the realm of possibility SC generation-wise, but we just spent a load of credit just to get half the stuff here. Yes, I get that the + Penny is good - but we can procure that in other ways at a much lesser cost.

So instead I shall tread a bold path, one optimized to be the ideal of both worlds - analyzing both Simp Resistance and Friendship's underlying themes, objectives, even their names... and making a plan so cunning, so brutal, it will seem as though Sol had temporarily become a horrible monster, devoted to a dark god just as this world desires: a Wall Street Banker.

[X] Plan S T O N K S
-[X] Distribution
--[X] Make it very clear we are sharing because Sol considers Penny a friend, or the closest Lancaster Equivalent
---[X] Allude to the possibility of something more, but respect her autonomy and Sol's dignity by not simping or being overt: Just Friends.

Allow me to walk you through my thinking: both plans are an if statement. IF ("Student Credit" >= 10/12) THEN "Immersion", ELSE "Distribution". My perfected plan follows similar lines, except it is just Distribution and does not need a big flashy thing to draw the eye. Instead, I have identified the True Goal of each of the plans and have charted a course through this dangerous land to make us reach the ideal destination. Plan Friendship does not account for THIS cited piece of evidence!
*This is blatant simping.
Or at least, that is what they want you to think... nay! Clearly they have been blinded by a desire to get close to Penny! My plan distills Friendship into one line - by declaring this something that Solomon wouldn't do for any mook off the street (or off the Tree of Life, as the case may be).

But Simp Protection overcorrects in the other direction - no man is an island, friends! The Sisyphean task of existence is not one to do alone - the burden is eased by even a single hand raised in solidarity!

My plan distills all these feelings into two cohesive ideas: first, that Sol considers Penny a friend-like entity; and second, that Sol has a great deal of respect for everyone involved.

Woah, what just happened? I left to get coffee and apparently I must have reached eternity again. Nothing for it, I guess.

Allude to the possibility of something more, but respect her autonomy and Sol's dignity by not simping or being overt: Just Friends.
Wait a minute why is it even alluded to in anyway?

Just be pure friends with no suptext.

Hell when did "anything more" ever come into play besides simping jokes?

WHISPER, my compatriot - allow me to tell you what I had to do. On one side, a foul multi-headed serpent. If I draw too close, it will eat my crew (which would lead to bad reviews on Glassdoor). On the other, an endless whirlpool that will eat my ship if I draw too close (which would lead to me losing the investment on this ship - the amount of refurbishing I've done on it, it must be a whole new ship by now).

My course lies in a trick called multi-track drifting: my goal is to unite the visions of both plans whilst not losing the essence of either.

I hath cited the Prime Avian: Angelic Immersion is simping by most stretches of the definition. In its place, I have trod a new path free of the sins on either path - both the crew-eating beast (which would again get me in trouble with HR or the Department of Labor) and the whirlpool (which isn't covered by my insurance).

It is for the voters tho while your plan kind of makes it canon that sol himself already at least thinking about stuff like that which I don't really agree with.

Normaly it's simping as in "Here im giving you this giant power up" while yours is "Here im giving you some because we are friends tho i wouldn't mind anything more someday" which is kind of... eh.

WHISPER my compatriot, I am currently being powered on nothing except memes and a glass of water - let me have this.

No I'm sorry no way im actually gonna vote for romantic potential out of no where.

This Plan actually has more simping then the other one just by it actually being alluded to having a potential romantic reason or at least opening the door for one.

As is your right - I am mostly poking fun at the obvious fact that the two existing plans are basically the same unless we generate about half a dozen SC. What? I'm allowed my amusement.
