Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Just talk on the phone, demon in it or no, it is not going to make a worse first impression than you will

Even odds that the guy already knows it's there. Really a little demon is a better starting point than a whole infernal exalt; it gives him a heads up about what he's getting into.

We should arrange a meeting though, because we don't want to look like we're avoiding his attention. For old wizards and bureaucrats that's just encouragement to press harder.

Also, I think it's worth while to do business with the council and this would be a good place to start. If we had better connections with them it's possible that we could have gotten them to pay us for killing Ortega despite the fact that we're doing it anyway.

I'm the future we could feasibly get paid to assassinate lesser but still powerful vamps which qualify for (some of) our crafting reagent needs.

Between you and Iris' data banks it is resonably easy to get Thomas up to date on the Fivefold Courts with a focus on the City of Endings, home of the Amethyst Hand and likely the first agents you will be bringing over to earth. "Cyborrgs...spider cyborgs...
Yes, spider people, cyborgs, and spies. You could try calling them Spiborgs, but we aren't responsible for what happens to you if they hear about it. :V

Also as a note this is Burny paying off hard. Remember all the rolls you had to get though to get Harry to accept the demon phone? Well without those you would have no warning as the Merlin and his guards started looking for you... just as you were about to meet a skinwalker.

Ultimately, Merlin and making a good impression on him is more important than maintaining good relationship with Broken Seeker, if only because we are much more likely to kill Broken Seeker for crafting components.

This is at least equal parts handling Harry as it is handling Merlin.

Right.

Not sure what sort of bonus you pay to minor demons who spends all their time on the internet. Do they accept ritual tamagotchi sacrifice or something? :V

Yeah, but going around him after he went out of his way to do us a favor is sort of a jerk move. It's also somewhat unwise to emphasize to his face that Burny answers only to us. Sure he knows it, but that's different than slapping him in the face with it.

Edit:

I'm sort of serious about rewarding our cyber devils. Clippy deserves some shinies too for her trouble.

I still know what they'd like, so money is a good alternative. Set them up some cash cards or equivalent and a P.O. Box to let them buy themselves whatever.

They probably won't want physical stuff most of the time anyway. I'm betting it'll go towards stuff like WoW subscriptions and online gambling.

At 4 dots in resources give our 4 primary cyber devils some walking around money without missing it.

Yeah, OK, fair, let me revert this back to its original form

[X] Write in - "Fine then, DON'T hand him the phone. See the little button that looks like an old timey microphone? Press that, put me on speaker. We can ALL talk this out. "
-[X] Arrange a meeting later on neutral ground, like Mac's.
-[X] Explain that you are currently arranging a hit on a Red Court noble with what is at best can be called "an unreliable enemy of my enemy", and you'd rather not let the opportunity slip past.
-[X] Etiquette Excellency, ATB to read his voice

Not really. I doubt the relationship is going to be seriously damaged by us asking him to wait for a few hours at most. Especially if we can offer him goodies like a demon cyborg summons or infiltration lists.

I am fine dropping telling the phone to put us on speaker.

it's Burny and it's not Mouse on the line.

I suppose you mean that it's Harry, not Burny, on the line?

If the Warden in situ was more reliable he would have summoned him for a talk. Empty Night, if Dresden has even a modicum of discretion Arthur would have summoned him away and offered some kind of quid pro quo, but frankly he did not trust Dresden to even know enough Latin to understand what that was much less follow through.
And now the Merlin is pissed at Harry because he was discreet. :p

Harry - Listen Molly, after the talk with The Merlin I have orders to keep tabs on you. You're too important to ignore. It's my job as warden now. Our relationship is going to have to change a little.

Molly - Change? Wait, your boss ordered you to stick close to me. You're a spy!

Harry - Spy! No I wouldn't say...

Molly - This is some James Bond shit! Do your orders say "as close as possible" perhaps? Have you been ordered to, gasp, SEDUCE me? Oh how will I resist your manly charms Warden Dresden? My secrets are not safe in the sight of that face! Swoon!

Harry - Kill me now.

Molly - La Petite Mort!

No, I meant it's Burny, the phone since when the phone is sapient it is only polite to mark down their name in your memory rather than that of the person who most often uses it.
Then, can you mark where it changes from Burny talking to Harry talking? I'm pretty sure that's Harry by the end of it. Unless, does it start with Burny calling, and then Harry is the one talking when he tells Molly that the Merlin is in town? Not sure where else it would've gone from Burny talking to Harry talking.

Would rather just put off the meeting with the low class murder. And talk in person with the Merlin, worth an Molly time a lowly skinwalker is not he can hurry up and wait.
