Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Accept his surrender and some responsibility for his fate, you will save who you can

The Greater Will of Kakuri had 16 health and took Molly in Shintai to take down, but it also admittedly had a large goon squad, the home ground, and forewarning on its side. Meanwhile this Outsider, for all that it seems quite battle-orientated, was still limited by surprise and it's chassis being a glass cannon with only 7 health levels (Molly hit the Greater Will for 8 HLs for the first hit in that fight).

I don't think Molly has gained that much strength since then, I think this Outsider just Leeroy Jenkins'd himself straight at the Solaroid 'cause of personal reasons. So anybody looking to measure Molly's growth rate between then and now probably won't be that alarmed that she went from needing Shintai against the Greater Will to near-flawlessly taking down an Outsider, given the extenuating circumstances.

So the secret pertaining to Molly's abnormally rapid increase in strength (relative to anyone not using a Darkhallow ritual) is probably still safe for the moment.

Pretty sure when we whip out our Kingdom that that ship will have sailed, though :D

If they are not on the list, I'll happily accept new minions.

Even if they had been, I don't think we should fully outsource our capacity of mercy, to a sincerely surrendering opponent, to someone like Lara in the first place.

Another Arc down, and it's still going strong. Half a dozen more to go before getting to the current one.

I also don't think this is such a big deal as some people make it that it requires its own plan/stunt.

Important detail of Exalted: If it's worth doing, it's worth stunting.

Stunts are something that you should always do, they are free dices at no cost, they are there to encourage describing the cool actions you are doing, you don't need a big deal to stunt, you can stunt how you enter your car, how you run away from an angry army of dragonblooded, how you taunt them as you depart, every action can be stunted.

I think it is pretty much a given that we are going to get enough xp for the kingdom charm.

Well, we did keep some XP in the bank just for that, I certainly hope we'll have enough.

There are no remains sadly, you obliterated them with nuclear hate fire from the inside.
Hmm, ok. So, would any of the following work as foci:
1) Bodyguards. We have used MIster the cat to learn Mab's plans. It seems reasonable that we'd be able to learn something of the Walker by using its allies and subordinates (if only for a moment). Not sure if they work as foci for "Prince of the Earth" or "Empyrean Chaos" though. "Who and what are the Princes of the the Earth, as the term heard by this man in the last twenty minutes" or something like that.
2) Athanasius Skavis was used to summon the Walker as the sacrifice. Most likely unusable for Prince of the Earth or Empyrean Chaos, but definitely should be usable for questions about the Walker's identity and history.
3) The recording Clippy made of everything we heard. Because I sure hope that Clippy is recording at least audio.

?

The body of the sactrifice would work best as it has the most direct connection to what happened.

Ok, so, do we need to vote for the question (and frontloading ATB and Occult Excellency to better understand the answer) now?

I am thinking we use the body for Empyreal Chaos's identity, recording (later, in private) for Prince of the Earth (it should work well, like a photo of the ritual circle we used previously), and finally the body guard for Walker's own identity / history. Maybe recording for "how am I a spawn of Empyreal Chaos" question instead.

Think that's enough for old realm? Molly clearly remembers it from somewhere, so maybe we just need the right crown question to knock it loose for actual use? Or at least enough for us to buy speaking it like a merit if we can't get it for an action cost.

Do we have any idea of how many rank and file Whampires there are in comparison to their nobility? Like are there 9 "commoner" Whampires for every noble? Less? More?

I'm asking because this purge might be at least as much about dealing with traitors as Lara having a good excuse to prune some old monsters and antiquated dead weight from the top of the tree to make room for some ambitious youngsters (relatively speaking, of course) who are more amenable to her direct rule rather than continuing to act as her father's puppetmaster.

Who knows just how many Whampires Lara is actually targeting tonight? The list we gave her might not have that many names on it, but when the smoke clears and everyone has a chance to wipe the blood from their eyes, I'm willing to bet there will be quite a few more dead who "tragically met their ends at the hands of traitors and malcontents" than can reasonably be accounted for in the fighting.

Haha, those kitties don't know what kind of fresh Hell they're courting fucking with that murderbeast.
I'm fairly sure their numbers are at least as high as the councils. Possibly more.

Possibly. We might be able to get a discount on
Source Code Compliance Protocol (1 dot, Wicked City charm)
The Infernal connects herself to the underlying struc-
ture which precedes all communication, and then net-
works those around her into that understanding as well.
System: The Infernal's player rolls Willpower
against difficulty 7. Success allows her to speak the lan-
guage at the heart of all languages for a scene. Anyone
who hears her words comprehends them, and finds
that any attempt they make to speak in her presence
comes out in the same ancient tongue. This enforced
comprehension ravages the mind and body, and who
hear the Infernal and respond to her suffer one level
of bashing damage in the form of bleeding eyes and
terrible headaches. The Infernal may spend 1 Essence
to spare those she converses with this harm and the
associated pain, should she feel magnanimous.
Because that's pretty much what was happening. I still think that it's more important to use the recording to either learn what exalted are, or how we are a baby primordial, or some other cosmic truth.

Old Realm is just a language though; humans could speak it back in the day.

My thought is that SCC is closer to what the primordials used when initially interacting and making Creation than anything they deliberately gave mortals.

I can see your point on the deeper secrets, but it's still worth considering since the language aspect has potential to let us dig more ourself where the singular jabs might not.

Maybe. If choosing between options, I think the first priority should be to the identity of Empyreal Chaos. It should do something to Usum's memories at least.

If you want to use the body you need to have it in front of you yeah.

Ok then. Let's do it.

[X] Accept his surrender and some responsibility for his fate, you will save who you can
[X] Crown questions
-[X] Occult excellency and ATB
-[X] Using the body of the sacrifice "Who is the Empyreal Chaos spoken of by the being summoned through this sacrifice?"
-[X] Using the bodyguard "What were the plans of the being they fought alongside with and tried to protect?"
-[X] Using a random party goes of no importance "what was the non-human language heard by this person during the fight?"

Something like this. Ancient and still relevant lore, plans of the enemy we left in shambles and might capitalize upon, and knowledge of enemy's language.

dude its way too late for that wait until the battle ends. It doesn't even matter if dp gave another day the vote was made too late and a lot of people won't come back to look until the next update.

We're mid combat right now. The knowledge is important, I don't think it's a good idea to burn all our regen from killing this guy and this turn's essence budget before we've even checked the situation out.

We need to keep our head in the game.

For all we know we need to trigger WBS + Melee Excellency to rush across the room and save Lydia/Lara or something.

It's also possible it's all fine, but the killing started ~30 seconds ago, we shouldn't assume everything else just wrapped up in our favor.

-[X] Provisionally accept his surrender… to the white court
-[X] Make clear to Lara later that we want a say in the fates of people who took up arms against us directly before a public decision is reached.
-[X] In the immediate sense prioritize the fight.
-[X] [Stunt] " You" Molly says, for a moment almost carrying the smell of wet meat and the impossible sensations of an Outsider's death on her breath " Are going to follow me, and accept the court's judgment over you"
—[X] " Face it, and you will likely face mine. Flee from it and I'll simply take revenge."
