Teacher of the cursed: A Warhammer 40k Psyker School Quest.

So what I gathered about the biomancy option:

- Flesh wounds, non-critical damage to organs, lasting damage from pollution and the like. Might help against basic poisons and toxins, but people going to poison a Psyker won't stinge on the poisons.

- Getting swole doesn't fix the lung issue from being on Terra, biomancy can. We can also get replacement cybernetic lungs if we desire and find the means somehow.

- Can't heal artificial lungs, shocker.

Im leaning towards Ward + Blank. Though I'll remind people that it seems like we could go down a psy-electric path* if people are intending to pursue a cybernetic build. In that instance I think we also need to evaluate Ward + Psy-lightning and Blank + Psy-lightning.

*[] Manifested Psychic lightning:
You are only able to manifest your Psychic power in the form of raw telekinetic force. You will try to learn how to manifest your psychic power as lightning and electricity.
You can turn your psychic power into raw electricity, either throwing bolts of lightning, or even using it to charge your hellpistol battery.

I mean, the Mechanicus aren't exactly lying when they say that the 'flesh is weak'. :V

doing some sort of synergy between mechanical body parts and psychic lightning would be interesting.

God damn it. I just thought about how we get swole but don't fix the lungs issue, and it just turns us into fucking Bane from Nolan's Batman and I can only think of the "Big Guy" and "I'm CIA!" memes.

Psykers use a lot of cybernetics already. You've got a psi-active mesh woven through your nervous system and had half your skull and a part of your brain cybernetically altered.

And the Focus isn't even intended on reducing damage from your power, it is just doing its basic job by stopping your head from exploding when you draw on psychic power.

Hmm...

>Pick up Swole
>Pick up Biolightning focus
>Learn a psyker-specific martial arts style
>Become Raiden from Mortal Kombat

A silly build idea for what we are going for but a nice flavoring in a different timeline.

[X]Plan: Barbarian Wizard
-[X] Used Biomancy to prepare your lungs for a return to Terra
-[X] Intense physical therapy and training

Unfucking our body is a priority imo.

My issue with fitness is that it's not going to do anything for us if our lungs are dogshit. We'd just be wheezing and coughing every time we exert our body meaningfully. Like, it's a good meme, but in application…

We'd need to first fix our lungs before I'd be open to working on our fitness, is what I'm trying to say. Which either requires a good grasp of biomancy or some new lungs, metal or otherwise.

My preferences would be strengthening body and wards. Cause swole Wizard, and you can never be too paranoid...

Now, being able to tolerate a Sister of Silence... now that would be a boon for our security. Having a guard of blanks would make any attempt by psykers to break free of our facility completely futile.

Do note that it's less "tolerate" and more "stay conscious enough to shoot the bastard." Or my more preferred answer of, "stay conscious enough to activate the MURDER SERVITORS!"

Physical fitness and wards are probably my personal picks, any of the other disciplines we can learn later and although the Sister of Silence is a rare opportunity I just can't see it being useful, blanks are such a niche force that I doubt we'll ever encounter them.

On the other hand wards are always useful since they make it harder for people to mess with our head and the physical fitness is great both for memes and surviving combat and assassination scenarios.

The QM is really knocking it out of the park with these choices, there have been multiple choices where the vast majority of the options are seriously tempting.

On one hand, blanks are a niche force that we're unlikely to ever encounter. On the other hand, a blank is one of the most reliable ways of countering a high level battle psyker, which is another niche force that we personally are, without massive collateral damage.

Sure, its resistance to a niche force, but it's resistance to a niche force that is a very specialised hard counter to people like the MC specifically.

bigger question is if we actually need that resistance given we will be a teacher most of the time and most blanks are not chaotic, or psykers or even a traitor so we will not be brought in to deal with them, with blank assassins most likely coming from terra which means we messed up anyways

I just remembered something. There are one or two Radical factions in the Inquisition that also hate psykers. Unfortunately, they tend to be nutty even by Radical standards, combining the willingness to commit horrible crimes "for the greater good" of Radicals and the self-righteous nature of Puritans.

If he is a member of one of those factions, I doubt he will be pleased should be discover our current activities. We're about to embark upon a project that is a change to the normal way of doing things and is Psyker related. That's two reasons to hate for the price of one. We may have not seen the last of our former employer.

'Messed up anyways'? Do you know how irresponsibly the assasins of Terra are used? You bet your ass some spiteful little inquisitor would use one to kill us off if he got somewhat disrespected by us. I'd also wouldn't discount rebels or chaos (specifically the Iron Warriors, dark mechanicus and Alpha Legion) from using blanks. Blanks aren't precluded from joining either faction after all. You also have to take into account that blanks can also be unaware of their own nature. Some blanks find themselves in the guard, and by consequence, likely also find themselves in chaos cultist armies, or rebel armies. I don't want to be unlucky enough to wind up meeting one of these unaccounted for blanks.

[X] Plan: Body and Mind

Biomancy so we're healthy, wards so we can deal with more subtle psykery, not just people throwing warp-fire in our face

Ironically, finished reading the update exactly 4 hours after it was posted

[X] Plan: CONSTANT VIGILANCE
-[X] Heavily trained your psychic wards:
-[X] Blank Exposure Therapy:

We're very unlikely to get another opportunity to talk and train with a sister of Silence, aka some of the most powerful blanks out there.
