Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

On the topic of actually useful favors could winter actually hold all the coins in safekeeping?
Nope. It's been confirmed that they can never be taken out of circulation for more than a limited amount of time, otherwise deus ex machina shenanigans ensue to set them loose again.

Not worth wasting a favor on, when we can probably do nearly as well on our own, for less effort and fewer casualties as well.

So basically if we want to deal with the fallen angel we need to perform an exorcism on coin, kill the fallen angel and then use murder is meat on them for the perma kill.

I still advocate for redeeming the Fallen. We even have some potential strategies for that, starting with giving Knights of the Cross dots in Ally: Denarians via VEE.

The problem is that they could get Ally: Denarian by the Knight in question falling if that's the path of least resistance.

I wanna use a favor to get magical materials.

I really want to use it to get a magical horse soul, iron touched by hellfire, and nuclear green food coloring to make a kickass, self piloting motorcycle that can turn into a horse to drop kick our enemies.

It suddenly feels just a little silly to be holding a sword as Winter's power lashes around you in an unseen gale, rejoicing in the fall of its foe, carving lines beautiful and strange upon the rink.

"The sentiment is appreciated in the spirit that animates it Miss Carpenter. Some day, perhaps soon it might be the act that is likewise, but here and now things have been settled."
Think this means we just tipped our hand here on MiM a little. Halloween means things can die that normally don't give a shit, but not just anyone or thing can actually do that and not every target will properly die to the same thing.

The belief that our sword specifically could do the same as reality poisoning an outsider and we use it for regular combat is probably going to be noted.

[X] All right, as much as you'd like to leave right now, you need to be thorough just in case. Do a check over Maeve mystically. Be sure that everything's fine. It should be, but it would not hurt to double check and be very damned certain there aren't any traps, fallbacks, or something else that could cause a relapse or vulnerabilities. This will also let you identify what sort of damage that was done, and perhaps also get you information on what the thing did.
-[X] Once you're done, give her any recommendations from a medical standpoint, and then head home. (Request an escort if it would be courteous.)
We aren't their court physician, and there are limits to how much weakness Winter will let themselves show before they lash out about it. Probably not a good plan to poke her like this right now. Some more familiar jabs might be better.

A quick reminder of who Sandra was. She's a minor canon character who pushed Molly to break the law. Canonically we have no idea whose orders she was acting upon, if anyone's. Here it's Nemesis. Helpfully, she has left behind a lot of foci for the Crown, even if she disappeared in the meantime.

[x] Go home, your parents are going to have questions of their own
-[X] If you want more nemesis exorcisms I am available.
-[X] If Maeve wants to hang out when she is feeling better, you are willing to meet at least on neutral territory.
I'm mostly in agreement, but I think everything here is worth a stunt and we technically still have a meeting with Mab we want to formally tie off.

[X] Go home, your parents are going to have questions of their own
-[X] Call Michael for escort once things are sorted out, and bring Black Rider around discretely just in case we need a quick exit ourselves.
-[X] [Stunt]: Matching Maeve's attitude with an eye roll of her own, Molly replies "Fair play for a fair greeting. That was a juicy hint anyway. "
—[X] "It's particularly interesting that you remember so clearly what it was up to now that you're free."
—[X] " I won't presume to know the mind of Winter in these matters, but I will say that in the interests of shaped reality " and a newly personal grudge something in her tone whispered " I'd charge far more reasonable rates for lesser circumstances"
--[X] " It could even be fun; hunt it down, peel it out, mutilate the shard of the usurper on principle, then steal all the secrets it left behind" with a hungry smile that perversely seemed to start in her eyes Molly's tone grows slightly more conspiratorial " Who knows how many ages of delicate plotting might get thrown into chaos if someone starts digging their fingers into the soft spots?"
-[X] Turning slightly to encompass both of them in the conversation once more, Molly gives an almost questioning glance " But for the moment it seems to me all major terms have been satisfied this night"

Something like this maybe? Basically putting Winter paint on things so that Maeve is less likely to act up here and now while still getting our message to Mab herself. Also in a bid to point Maeve towards something other than chewing through a platter full of sashimi mortals when she tries to come to terms with what happened.

Might be a little over the top though. Also, Mab might not approve* of us suggesting to her emotionally vulnerable daughter that she should consider pushing for a nemesis focused axe-murder spree fund at the next quarterly budget meeting so that she can work out her issues with violence.
*Or she could approve way too much, which is it's own issue, cause Winter things. :V

We have just completed a procedure though, and care after something like this would be expected, if only to be thorough and complete.

Lifting a sword in aggression is a fairly common reflex. I don't think Mab is going to be able to read anything special into it. We would likely try and cut at it even if we had no reason to think it would do anything.

We basically just got permission to do the professional double check, which is what the second aura scan and popping her out of the ice to let us talk to her was:

"Uhm..." You glance at the Winter Lady, still in her icy prison, only now with a hole where you had shoved the steel pole through. "She should be alright, but I'd like to see how she's doing just to be sure, The only other spirit I banished was far lesser than that." A moment, two she hesitates, though eyes less sharp than yours might have missed it before commanding the ice to recede with a wave.

If we try to give her a physical we aren't qualified to give or something like that it'll just look like a lack of confidence or digging for something.

We know she's physically and spiritually cleaned out, that's what SCE does. Anything more should be the realm of whatever faerie doctor she sees.

I'm not suggesting she'll get the whole picture, but we sold this thing to her by demonstrating a highly unusual absolute power and then followed up by successfully executing an almost unheard of encore of the same grade.

I think our "shucks, she's just an ignorant kid" energy is at an all time low. Which is saying something.

Beyond even that, there's still the "Is this mortal just being a dumbass?" factor. Because "Mab knows Molly believes she can do X" is different from "Mab knows Molly can do X", albeit recent events have ratcheted up the probability that Molly's self estimations are correct.

There's some element of that, but for Molly this is at an all time low. Her opening showed access to some spicy information, and implied some deeper understanding of the modern world than Molly may actually have in some respects.

When Mab asked Molly to prove her exorcism was legit she shot back with "I've got other bullshit absolute powers, try kind controlling me at close range with a significant name slice and consent; see what happens". Which she then deflected flawlessly, and followed through into SCE* without a hitch.

The whole point of that sequence was to establish the one absolute == credible access to at least one more absolute effect.

It's not impossible that Mab dismisses us doing something as simple ignorance, but at this point we've heavily implied enough stuff about Molly's level of insight and weird powers to be worth taking a second look at the idea that she can't do something when she squares up to try.

* Which it bears repeating isn't a gamified magic wand you cast by pressing a hot key or a cargo cult thing. Using it is based on the character knowing some truly crazy shit about the true nature of reality and applying it with significant magical skill.

… do you think we would be able to contain the Coins within our inner world? There isn't much harder to meddle with then 'personal realm within the soul of an infernal'

I don't think THAT would be the problem, we have already showed her two 'perfect' effects with our mental defense and the ritual, I doubt she will be overly surprised by more.

If anyone has the chops for it it's those guys. Even if we deliberately built it as a prison with the dedicated access control options they'd still probably get out eventually.

Probably not worth the effort to go outside the usual channels.

Better in my mind to simply do horribly unpleasant things to them that take lots of time to undo while they're free.

Both for spite and to waste their time while they're on the clock instead of time out.

Nope. However powerful we are, we aren't more powerful than the White God. Even when we get our own Hell and grow powerful enough to smack Mab around will we be that beings superior, let alone it's equal.

And it's God that ultimately moves the coins around when all else fails.

Ignoring that, however, is the issue with it being completely insane to willingly bring hostile Angels, even when hobbled by being imprisoned in the Coins, into our soul. That's just an elaborate, drawn out form of suicide as far as I'm concerned. If we want to fuck around with the Denarians, we should do it when they're in mortal hosts.

What would happen if a Denarius host swears themselves into Mollys service? Would that free them from the controll of the fallen Angel?

And even more interesting, would a Denarius doing it have any effect on the fallen Angel??

Really the best containment for the coins is our crown. That is to say the coins always get out because someone takes them if we have a focus for every one of them then we can quickly find them again.

I don't think the white god does stuff for them, he just has agreements with them that cover how he'll restrict them. They still have to pay the cab fair themselves so to speak.

It's just that we'd need to be stronger and cleverer than the Fallen for however long we hold the coins, and they're nasty customers.

We're also planning to have sizable populations in our various plans. Seems sort of like a recipe for making them targets.

Also, I think it is safe to say, we will be hitting 20xp this turn.
