She might have an administrative charm that allows her to take things from her kingdom at a small cost of essence and selected the gift when she saw ours.Yep, fey are into equal exchanges, though the gift was probably also chosen with some care to say something Molly thinks. Mab must have had this thing at least metaphorically to hand. She does not think Mab can just conjure arbitrary magic items at need.
Or she's MAB and hasn't had us not being watched by some agent or another since the moment we left her sight. She might have an administrative charm that allows her to take things from her kingdom at a small cost of essence and selected the gift when she saw ours.
We would have noticed with our new perception charmOr she's MAB and hasn't had us not being watched by some agent or another since the moment we left her sight.
Maybe. Mab has access to lots of ways to gather information. I wouldn't be shocked if she knew heading into this meeting that we would come bearing a gift and knew exactly what gift we would bring. Even if she wasn't spying on us directly she could have been keeping tabs on us through indirect means.
Considering her need to reciprocate gifts equally, what do y'all think Mab would feel compelled to give us in exchange for our information on her Nemesis trouble?
I can't imagine Mab DOESN'T have a wide variety of servants to call on that extend well beyond just Winter Fae. She has SOME number of servants who don't qualify as creatures of darkness. Some of her servants are likely full on human. She wouldn't be above hiring an unwitting mortal PI to avoid some of the Carpenter divine protection.Technically you would not have noticed a non-Creature of Darkness with Helscry, though what the odds of Mab having such a servant Molly does not know.
Its too risky, even the smallet ill-intent will activate the protection or one of the mortal doing something stupid will make Molly suspicious and even then if Mab sent a creature of darkness by mistake we would have noticed. Due to that and the surprise Mab have at the beginning of the meeting meaning that she isnt spying on us constantly, that she used a charm to find the most suitable gift for us from her reserves.I can't imagine Mab DOESN'T have a wide variety of servants to call on that extend well beyond just Winter Fae. Completely mortal. No ill intent. Even Mab wouldn't have hired them with ill intent. The divine protection likely wouldn't trigger at all.
It's a question of if she actually had one keep tabs on us or not if she could have.
It was extremely sweet of her. Whatever social role she was taking was very successful. Unless this meeting goes absolutely to hell she needs to be on our literal Christmas List.Yep, fey are into equal exchanges, though the gift was probably also chosen with some care to say something Molly thinks. I don't think Winter has stopped keeping tabs on us the moment we absconded with the crown. Mab knows the power level sitting on our head. All we are doing is putting ourself firmly in the asset column rather than the problem column....
Do you think there is any chance that Winter lets us out of their sight, assuming they believe out words? I imagine we're leaving this meeting with her in one way or another and not coming back for quite some time. Dad or Harry be damned.
I think its going to get upgraded from 'she is keeping tabs on us' to 'she is appointing a fucking roommate for us'. And she would probably immediately make a play for keeping us in her court full time and fuck everything else, though I imagine we can social role out of that.I don't think Winter has stopped keeping tabs on us the moment we absconded with the crown. That has a non-zero chance of Michael getting an official retrieval mission. And Mab knows that. And, well, she can't brainwash because IPM (even mote-tapping us doesn't work, as this would run into "against intimacies" part). She can't hold us long-term, because this costs her Harry, possibly causes Michael, if not Uriel, to pay her a visit, and we get WHWH and CCC running at all times. We don't need food or water while in Winter's NeverNever because TLF, and we are damn hard to hold. At most, a month or so later we develop our world body, and escape there....

I'm not saying we don't do this but... yeah... I think we'll be vanishing off of the face of the earth for a fair few turns.
Mab send us a new roommate. We have a new minion by weeks end.I think its going to get upgraded from 'she is keeping tabs on us' to 'she is appointing a fucking roommate for us'. And a non-zero possiblity is that we get Sarissa or Maeve as a circlemate. Maeve would be the token evil teammate, probably. Are life debts a thing among the fae? Because Maeve would owe us.I think its going to get upgraded from 'she is keeping tabs on us' to 'she is appointing a fucking roommate for us'. We already picked up a token evil teammate in the Whampire. We threw her onto the pile of ghouls. At this rate our little death god is going to be the token "not redeemed evil person" of the party. And a non-zero possiblity is that we get Sarissa or Maeve as a circlemate. By the way, I support this fully. By the end of the story it would be hilarious to have a young adult representative of every faction all working together to keep outside outside.
Olivia might also be a non-evil teammate. Of course, her ancestry is that of a raksha, however far removed, and they are not good guys, even if her specific ancestor is.We already picked up a token evil teammate in the Whampire. Indeed. I tried to divorce this topic as much as possible from any favor trading and equal exchanges as possible. Fae are obligated to provide something of equal value, but I think there has to be some clause that excludes outsiders from this. Otherwise Nemesis would have totally gamed that. I also tried to make it, while not challenging exactly, and certainly not offensive, declarative. This is what Molly intends to do. Molly is a power realizing herself. Mab can help, on her own will, oppose, or step aside. It is up to Mab.What, you saying you want to give that information to Winter? Not that much surprising, not with a non submissive way of putting it at least, you are writing it as a way to become equal to her in some ways it seems, and that isn't that surprising coming from you.
