Green Flame Rising (Exalted vs Dresden Files)

[X] Check for who else is listening first
-[X] Activate ATB
-[X] Use a Crown on an internal security camera to ask "who and what else are currently observing this scene?"
--[X] If no one hostile or unknown is observing this, then bluntly, all those who follow you are granted control of aspects of inner darkness that would be otherwhise outside their control
--[X] If hostile or unknown parties are observing, then deceptively, try to continue the perception that it is a potion, though one you will not sell only share with friends

[X] Bluntly, all those who serve you are granted control of aspects of inner darkness that would be otherwhise outside their control
-[X] But that service is not binding. Service grants protection, but those under your protection can leave at any time.

I dunno about lying to her if we are being observed... I suppose something to consider.

Just if we do lie I strongly feel we should reveal the truth to her asap, but if we are being open to her it might be worth offering her the opportunity to try it for herself....

First hit ain't 'free', but pouring Molly a glass of water or napkin isn't expensive either. ;)

-----
A (the?) negative outcome here is that Molly's power incentives people who could benefit from it to serve her in some manner.
That is an inherent threat to any existing power structures a given beneficiary is a part of - or at least a potential threat.

Of course that comes part-and-parcel with using the power at all, I'm just pointing to that fact 'cuz I feel it's gonna grow in relavance.

I'm not sure I care too much if someone is eavesdropping on us, at least not enough to try obfuscating the truth. It's going to come out soon enough anyway, so we might as well earn Raith brownie points for whatever they're worth.

[] Bluntly, all those who serve you are granted control of aspects of inner darkness that would be otherwhise outside their control

-[] Crown Question: "What are the forces that are currently considering attacking or fully intending to attack those sitting at this table within the next three hours? (Focus: Table people are siting at, alternatively, "the set of [chairs the four people meeting here are sitting on]")

@DragonParadox is the above focus suitable, or is it too far removed from the question being asked to work?
I'm basically trying to see what is coming for us, and cover the possibility of the attack being called off by asking what is intended to be sent to attack us

You are focusing on the scene, it's fine, though you need to pick either considering or fully intending to attack since asking both is two questions.

I... do not enjoy this part of the game, in that asking if X is an ok question really feels like trying to rules-lawyer with the DM. I can see how those are two different questions.

How about: "What are the details of any attack vectors that are to be used on any of the people present in this meeting (focus: current scene [i.e. event]) within the next three hours?"

Basically, Molly is bait here. Is it going to be a bomb, poison, physical attackers? Some sort of reputation hit via a 'social attack'?
I'm picking 'three hours' as a semi random number, two hours or one hours might be better. Maybe six hours? I'm asking the thread to weigh in here please if this question idea gains traction.

If that's way too broad a question, what about using "this meeting in which Molly is bait at least one person present is bait" as the focus, and ask "What are the details of any traps that have been put in place that make use of this meeting in some manner?"

Sure that is workable. For the record this is not working your way around the GM, I don't want you guys to know less information, it is working your way around the limitations of the very powerful and inherently limited instrument of divine sight you choose at character creation.

We might want to activate All Things Betray and Hellscry Chakra regardless, both can help with reading Lara's reactions, and I'll admit to some curiosity what a High-end White Court Vampire looks like under the latter.

Also helps establish a baseline to check for alterations down the line. Even if we can see Nemesis's effects that doesn't help unless we know what "normal" looks like to compare against.

1. Cheers.

2. Yeah, and you've said as such in the past. And I get that a player having a wee back-and-forth with you on how to best pick the words that convey the player's intended meaning within the limits of the crown's power is like part playing this quest. But it still feels borderline adversarial to me to ask the follow up "well, what about [this]?" when you say that the first query is unsuitable.

It's prbly a me thing, but I appreciate your reassurance on the matter.

Really not sure how to add in a question vote, format wise. Maybe if a few people add the subvote pick it up, and if very few people do so then disregar it?

I think it's an artifact of the fact that this system was designed for TTRPG where asking the GM for clarification followed by reformulation of plans is part of the natural game-flow. It is admittedly more clunky in a quest, but I hope you guys can forgive the fact.

I can't tell if Lara is just like this when she's worried about her brother or if she's presenting the situation in a way that is conducive to Molly opening up (being worried about her sibling strikes a chord with Molly) or both, but I don't see any reason to not let her know the truth. As others have already mentioned, we've already told Isabella and her uncle.

DP noped that question as it is a two-parter, two posts above yours is a variant that might be close enough to what you were hoping for?

Activating our perception boost when we are expecting an ambush seems like a good idea:

I will say there were rolls you did not see last update, though there is a bit of a hint as to them.

[X] Activate All Things Betray with Willpower and Hellscry Chakra to look for possible ambushes and better read Lara. And because you're curious what the aura a White Court Vampire that can ignore your Demonic Primacy looks like.

Hmm, well this seems reasonably on the level, I don't see any particular reason to lie.

A requirement of 'loyal servitude' will likely be somewhat comforting in a domineering sense for wary elders.

It speaks to a terrifying sort of power in the hands of a teenage human but it's the sort of thing that makes sense to the social abuse vampires.

Go all out Lara being ok with losing people to Molly has to go well.
