Strange Aeons: A 40k Xeno Governor Quest

How difficult would it be to pass off the Resources variant of Regional Shields as DAoT Gellar tech? Considering that it is at least partially based on it and can be built without alien super materials.
And as for the Grav Sphere - GM recently said that acquiring more planets improves our system's defenses, and Grav Sphere likely boost the Planetary Barges (slight suspicion discount maybe?), which definitively massively boost Planetary Acquisition.
I'm not sure I follow. I'm studying the Grav Sphere, I just put Balkavus on Schematics instead of Grav Lance.

It would be fairly doable honestly, there are no local archmagos that specialize in gellar fields and even of those that do, well you are using DAoT principles so that complicates the things notably.

Suspicion: 15(start)-20(SDF)+15(schools)+20(Specialist)-5(Cadia)-5(Doctors)+20(Factory)+15(Singularity)-10(Church)-20(Orphanages) =25/100
This is 5 to high as the 20(Factory) gets reduced by 5 by the citadel:
Suspicion: 15(start)-20(SDF)+15(schools)+20(Specialist)-5(Cadia)-5(Doctors)+15(Factory)+15(Singularity)-10(Church)-20(Orphanages) =20/100

And how interested in blueprints for such would they be?
Both more and less than you would expect. The Ad Mech would be more interested in having the blueprints just because it's fancy tech than to actually use it outside of a handful of worlds that could pay the cost they would demand. So its more "fancy tech" than "useful tech" for the Ad Mech so that makes the value less than you would expect for something like this.

@Leon12431, several questions:

First, I want to confirm that completing the Grav Sphere should improve the Planetary Barges. I'm hoping for a slight effectiveness increase (or cost decrease), and a -5 suspicion (due to having an easy explanation for the tech: "it's DAoT!").

Second, how large of a buff is Implementing Information expected to be? Double all of Atraxas' effective stats? Does that just add an extra ~50 to every Action (barring Double Down), or does it do more?

Third, does Implementing Life and Ruin grant us more Exatari favor?

Fourth, does Invent Custom Defense Lasers for Shogi count as an action that would help repel the upcoming assault? Perhaps if you completed it then built a bunch of said Lasers?

Fifth, does Study Warp Navigation reduce our Contact Homeworld fail-chance?

Sixth, if we build a Planetary Barge and run Planetary Acquisition on the same turn, does the newly-built Barge affect the action?

Seventh, do our Extraction and Production both add directly to our Resource income or is it more complicated?

Thanks!

Let's suppose that Economic Studies shift the Net Income per Planet Acquired from 70 (80-10) to 100 (110-10).
Edit: Nope, it's baseline 40-10=30 income per planet.

Then suppose the Grav Sphere adds +1 planet acquired per Barge but doesn't change the cost. (Cost reduction would be nice...) Assume they do apply -5 suspicion.

Build a Barge - 5k Resources (ouch!), 500 Alloys (ouch), 2 Atraxas Actions (ok), 10 (15-5) Suspicion.
Planetary Acquisition - contribute one Atraxas Action for (45-90? Stewardship+Learning?) + 4d100 ~= 270, plus 6 Army Actions for 1d100 each ~= 303. That should reliably do it.
Results: an average of 11 planets, *100 resources/planet, = 1100 Resources per turn.

But the cost... Ouch. If we had a half-dozen turns it would be fine - since we'd just take Planetary Acquisition once per turn and get +1100 Resources per turn every turn practically for free. But we don't.

Planetary Acquisition without even a single Barge averages 3 planets or +300 Resources/turn, in exchange for (on average) one Atraxas Action and 5 Army Actions (on average). Still expensive. Still, extraplanetary resource exploitation takes 1 Action and grants +15 Resources/turn, so raw Planetary Acquisition might actually be worth taking since it gives something like +50 Resource/turn per Action spent...
(And, yes, this means I have shifted my opinion somewhat. Looking at the hard cold numbers can do that.)
Edit: ...And the numbers revision has returned me to my original opinion, at least mostly. :p

1) Grav Sphere will improve the Barge but to a minor degree, I think you might have gotten it confused with the Theorems that will notably improve grav tech. (Grav Sphere will add a new class of ship to the list, that will cost more but also provide more planets when used. The Theorems will upgrade both classes notably)
2) Double all of Atraxas' skills, improvements to Innovative actions, lowered DCs for learning new fields of study, further reduce the impact of criticals
3) No, implementation on the personal scale is far from planetary implementation
4) It would help as a final line of defense, but Atraxas would prefer to hold one of the system lines
5) Not applicable to communication with the Homeworld (that failure chance is more due to just the Homeworld being busy than anything mechanical going wrong or the warp being fucky. Only if you try to talk with them while powerful Chaos forces are in system do you actually have a chance of failing to send a message outright)
6) No, there is a turn lag for the Barges to apply (the things are massive ships there is no way to rationally build one in less than a turn)
7) Extraction is your Maximum income, but Production is how much of your Extraction you can turn to Resources per turn. In short 1 unit of Extraction uses 1 unit of Production to produce 1 unit of Resources. If your extraction overflows your Production the overflow goes into storage.

@Leon12431 , would we get tachyon tech from the tachyon computer (like tachyon guns)?
No, tachyon tech is very complex and generally limited. It's only good for material precog but it cant take into account warp stuff. It's very much a sensor tech field, it does not provide much beyond that it's why the DAoT did not really explore it. The Exatari are aware of tachyons but consider it mostly useless for that reason as well, they got basically nothing out of it and decided that it just wasn't worth funding it more.

Fantastic. We're spending one of three gravus actions, making exactly zero progress on Information, needlessly doubling up on education and locking actions into DCs that will take several turns to grind down.

Now this is why I ask things. Because all of those answers make sense, but I would have guessed at least slightly wrong on every last one of them.

@Leon12431 Since Gravus is only mentioned once, is there any chance that you'd be willing to either have him tripling down on his assigned action, OR work on two other projects? (Luraia Introduction being an obvious one.)

Some rolls:

Design augments of Advisors - this one sounds fun. Edit: Atraxas has the "3 counts as 10" trait. Plus a bonus of 45+8. So we're looking at 385 +45+8 bonuses +7 (3 counts as 10 rule) = 445, which is horribly below average (558) but still amply sufficient.

Libraries: Life and Ruin, second and third. Rolls: 20d100k10+45+8 and 20d100k10+45+8.
Life: 100, 99, 98, 93, 90, 87, 85, 79, 79, 78, and 10 other discarded rolls. Total: 888, lol. Then add +45+8, for 941 total.
Ruin: 94, 92, 91, 88, 71, 67, 42, 36, 35, 34, and 10 other discarded rolls. Total: 650, ouch! Then add +45+8, for 703 total. We finished this one by the slimmest margin, due to me getting some truly terrible rolls. (Edit: perhaps only compared to the prior?)

I think I'm going to stop rolling now.

@Leon12431 Since Gravus is only mentioned once, is there any chance that you'd be willing to either have him tripling down on his assigned action, OR work on two other projects? (Luraia Introduction being an obvious one.)
Huh? You dont need to use all his actions this turn they are passive favors until you call them in.

Also Atraxas sets rolls below 10 to 10. So that roll is actually 445.

Does this mean that, as things stand, he owes us "3 total actions across all future time"?

So that if we call them all in now, we won't have any left for later?
